my favorite place for lunch. i don't know why i keep reading reviews, not just here, that the service is bad and the staff is unfriendly. they work hard, get your food ready fast- all but once- and keep in mind they have to work in a tiny busy restaurant all day!

they are always very nice to me and the food has always been great! i still love kuni's but stopped going there for wasabi on elmwood. i go with my boyfriend often, as well as other friends and relatives. maybe they are nice because we often spend a lot and since it's close, we go there often!

amazing you never have to wait! kuni's would put you on a waiting list and call you in like an hour or more, but they may have had a long-standing great rep so the customers were endless?

it's small and perhaps i feel a bit too close to the strangers next to me, but i'm okay with that and the food is worth it, if i'm not in the mood i get takeout (i wish any sushi place delivered!) if you don't want to spend a lot and still get a lot of food try going for the lunch specials.

wegmans sushi used to tide me over a bit, but the more they hyped it up and even took out tv ads just for sushi the worse and more limited the selection and taste became! it's more expensive than wasabi's lunch so this is yet another reason i go even more now!

despite the growth of dedicated izayakas, curry shops, noodle parlors and shabu-shabu restaurants elsewhere in the united states and japan, western new yorkers have three primary options for japanese food: sushi, hibachi, and tempura-teriyaki houses, plus

a classic humble neighborhood sushi joint. fun, social and casual. from a west coast perspective, this is how a japanese restaurant should be.

my favorite sushi in st. louis! i've tried the majority of the rolls and wouldn't say i dislike any! but my all time favorite is the m&b ii roll. other favorites are the playboy, mr. kim, and the caterpillar rolls.

this place has delicious food and a good environment. it was small but cozy, the sushi was being rolled at the counter and everything was on display. the miso soup was perfectly seasoned and had a earthy flavor of mushrooms. i ordered the lobster roll and it was very good, it had avocado and mango. i also ordered the soft shell crab roll which was a perfect combination of flavor. it was salty and slightly sweet, the deep fried crab legs offered a crunchy texture and pleasing presentation. i also recommend the tempura fried ice cream, it was amazing!

the service has changed a lot in the past few years from good to needs improvement. the lunch specials are your best value but they stopped giving soup/salad with it (as opposed to other lunch sushi combos in town). otherwise this place is great for traditional sushi lovers.

very mediocre if that. i went there on two separate occasions and the service is wonderful but their sushi isn't even sub par. for anyone who has actually had quality sushi they wouldn't even remotely stomach this. it seems to be done half fast and of very poor quality and lack of flavor. i really want to like this place but time and time again they have let me down

great food at both, better decor in williamsville. the sushi is always very good here (and served around room temperature, as it should be). my personal faves are the shrimp tempura and eel avocado rolls. you can't beat the lunch specials either- great prices. the interior is a little cramped\worn, but doesn't bother me much as for me it adds to the city appeal. if you want easy parking, more space and nicer decor, check out the williamsville location. one minor criticism- sodas at the williamsville location taste strange.. overall, my favorite places i've found so far in the city for a sushi fix.

i think the food was delicious. the service was so-so. we called and made a reservation. but when we got there, they didnt reserve a table, so they sat us outside in the cool. the front desk man was rude, but their waitresses were really sweet and understanding. overall, it was good.

the place is small and kind of hole-in-the-wall, but you can't beat the prices on their sushi! love the crunchy rolls. they have mochi icecream too!!! nice for a light (healthy) lunch while walking along elmwood.
