one word defines this place. luxury. and only luxury. the food is par excellent. from the sushi to the main course. totally in love with the stuff they serve. go here and get ready to empty your pockets.

extremely disappointed with this place. it is hyped up and doesn't meet expectations, neither in terms of the food quality nor in terms of the service. the sushi is below average and so are the drinks and other food items

stayed in taj for 2 nights my ever best experience in wasabi though its nt dat crowded or somthing like dat u can njoy ambience n richness in d air..one wil feel like a king over here ..great ambience

what an experience! and what a view! overlooking the gateway of india and the arabian sea, we sat down for the most wonderful food experience. we ordered for avocado tartare, asparagus tempura, soba noodles mushroom teppanyaki, and kuro goma mille fuille for dessert. the sushi was delectable and the best was the teppanyaki which was made right in front of us and we got to stir it up ourselves at the counter. the dessert was just divine and the staff extremely courteous. overall a very enjoyable experience.

our most favourite place to go for sushi in mumbai. yes it is expensive but worth every penny and worth the drive from the suburbs!! anyone game for wasabi tonight??

one of the best restaurant in mumbai to have great japanese cuisine loved the taste of the sushi & veg pizza was amazing simply delighted made my day.

we ordered the non-vegetarian omakase set and oh my wow, what an experience. from the moment you step foot into the restaurant till the time you're out, the service is impeccable.
the food is brilliant, every dish turned out to be better than the previous and the omakase set is super filling. we almost didn't make it!
wonderful experience and can't wait to do this again!

ps - also a great place if you want a glimpse of celebrities!

very good staff!! food is good, sushis were good but could be better, especially the rice they use didn't feel like the japanese sushi rice. novelty was the fresh wasabi served at the table. lovely location, if you manage to get a table with gateway view.

the best japanese restaurant for vegetarians is perhaps not in tokyo - it is probably 'wasabi by morimoto' at taj mumbai above the harbour lounge. it is classy, sophisticated, perhaps expensive but does not compromise on the most important thing in a japanese restaurant 'fresh ingredients' - with imported wasabi stems, freshly grounded in front of you, to the white asparagus appetizer; the sushi rolls and the teppanyaki; it is a masterclass - go take your beau when you are feeling rich, you will come back lighter in your pocket but with a meaningful experience added to your culinary journey.

almost a perfect place ... left out that 0.5 on account of uncertainty of consistency! on my last visit we ordered rock shrimp tempura, rock corn tempura, yellow tail carpaccio, salmon carpaccio, edemame(steamed, garlic flavour and buttered) and lamb roast... it was a party of 5 extremely starved gentlemen! did i add it was mouth watering and left us asking for more.
only minus - there was no choice of saki.

what do i say about the ambience, it's a landmark place. we sat overlooking the sea and the majestic gateway of india. a hands down winner of a sight!

after constantly hearing people rave about wasabi i finally got a chance to visit and we opted for the omakase menu. the best quality ingredients and produce was used in every single item that i tasted. omakase is a 7 course meal which started off with tofu (silky and melts in your mouth in a jiffy) in a light soy dressing with a side of edamame followed by miso soup.

then we had theasparagus tempura sushi served with fresh wasabi root grated on a shark fin paddle. the sushi was very flavourful, the wasabi was really pungent which i didnt enjoy so much.

then came the highlight of the menu; the rhubarb carpaccio which was crisp and packed with flavor.

we then had a potato cake which was quite average but was served with a lip smacking burnt chilli garlic paste.

the main course was a huge let down which was a potato and panko bread crumb dish. it was way too oily and buttery. i stopped after a bite. dessert was an amazing play of flavours! i dug into a peach compote and there was a sun dried redchilli sitting pretty inside .. the contrast of flavours from the peach and the chilli was outstanding.

wasabi is definitely worth visiting atleast once. yes it burns a big hole in any pocket but worth a visit!

extremely bad experience at wasabi. first of all, they give table an hour late saying they are overbooked. then why the heck do they take online reservation? on top of that, after ordering a few appetizer the server comes up and says the bill is already 5000 rs. why does that mean? you ppl think i can't afford or i can't read the price in the menu. how dare he ask me? or is it a norm at wasabi to notify customers at some interval of time where their bill is headin? i was enraged at how do they treat their customers. i am a frequent traveler and taj inner circle member. never ever i have been insulted like this. i kept quite because i had few people with me and didn't want to make a scene. but pathetic. we left after a while taking my business to some other restaurant. i am even going to write an email to taj asking them to review the kind of restaurant they allow in their premises which is letting their name down.

the food is just amazing... they have fresh wasabi. the sushi rolls are to die for. they also have mushroom pizza which isnt really a pizza but a must have for all vegetarians. the yellow tail is amazing... everything just melts in your mouth. and to top that the service is just out of the world. and pretty slick ambience.

for those rare special days in one's lifetime that must be celebrated. words will not do justice. brevity. the japanese way of expression.

well wasabi by the name itself sounds like an indispensable part of japanese cooking and i profoundly share the same relationship with this place.
i believe that at any japanese restaurant please and i say please sit at the sushi bar,it just alleviates your experience.
i ordered the spicy tuna and the california roll and their spinach dish(yup popeye rocks)
well for me it's the quality of the rice which is of paramount importance in determining the mere authenticity of a japanese restaurant and wasabi never fails and gives you a feel of you being a pink motorola flip phone carrying japanese schoolgirl drooling for some sushi.
the fish was on point af and the freshness it gives you is better than those stupid menthol body wash commercials that come on tv tbh.
as for the spinach dish,it was very interestingly spiced with a sesame sause surrounding the spinach with a very distinctive taste which is amazeballs.
the experience at wasabi is always entertaining as you have a lot of actors inevitably being prevalent and sitting behind me was bhai ki behen who was loud enough to entertain most of the people at the restaurant with her 3rd grade child like statements(why is there a security hype on republic day lol)
all in all it's a great place to satisfy your craving of bollywood actors(sushi also),go there have an authentic experience and i am sure you'd go back again!cheers🎎🎎
