amazing food i dont know how to put it but just too good i dont think i have eaten such amazing food ever.. the only reason that it looses a point (and i think does not matter to them) is due to the price this is by far the most expensive dinner i have had in my life.. good food guys.. !!

great japanese cuisine but i see a lot of preferential treatment which doesn't go down well with me. if i need a window seat and u tell me that 3 cant sit on a table for 6 then its not right that i see just 2 people sitting their for the entire course of their meal

high expectations but poor experience.
we were there on a friday night and the place seem packed, it felt somewhat tight in seating so definitely not the best ambience.
we ordered 2 veg starters of which both were good, the beggars purse was exceptional. so far so good.
the main course of fried tofu with japanese fried rice recommended by our server was below average and didn't seem anything special which we've come to expect from wasabi.
the service was also below average. it was prompt but no smile on the face and not once questioned about the taste of the food or anything else. a major put off.
on top of that we were charged in our bill for some spicy sauce we had asked for to improve the taste of the food! this was appalling.
we left a comment behind and the manager did come and speak to us and mentioned that since the sauce was imported, it had to be charged. what a poor excuse, not the high standards i've come to expect from taj.
overall an unsatisfactory experience, don't think we'll be back ever again.

the food was superb and we even got the table with the view. we had a sushi platter and i had the black cod miso. every bite was relished. while ordering sake, the server was very helpful and even made sure we didn't over order. it was our anniversary so we even got a complimentary cake. i just need to save up for another year before i can eat there again

absolutely fantastic place to have food, with a sea facing view.
although we were first timers here, we loved ambiance and customer service to the core. we ordered wasabi rice - a mix of japanese rice, finely chopped vegetables and delicious chatnis
would love to visit again and again

one of the worst meals ever, not just for authentic japanese cuisine, but even for just a meal.

it was supposed to be a special meal for a special occasion. we came away thoroughly disappointed impressed only with the edamame.

most of the dishes were extremely sweet (recommended by the server) and sushi was ordinary. a mediocre experience.

wasabi happens to be one of the finest japanese restaurants in the country. this place does cater to the true japanese food and sushi lover. i always wanted to have japanese food in india and the ambiance itself gave me felling that i am dining at a restaurant in japan.

i came here with a friend for dinner after insisting on having japanese food. i hadn't been here before, but i didn't think it would be that busy. i arrived to find the restaurant had less than 30 people total, while half of it had "reserved" signs waiting for people that made reservations.
we were given a seat immediately. the ambiance is amazing...offers a panoramic view of the sea and i did like the red carpet which gives you a welcome feeling.

what you surely are gonna have: unagi sashim and spicy shrimp tempura
awesomeness is too short to express...the freshness, the ligth taste, the tenderness...too good.
also, believe it or not, i would also recommend a very unusual dish to eat at a japanese restaurant: steamed chicken with sesame sauce...it is sooo good!!!
if you have lots of cash, want to try something unusual without any regrets and spend in an impressive yet right way, this is the place you want to got.
overall, wasabi is a definitely must when eating japanese food in mumbai. it is a refreshing change from the routine.

many people who love restaurants dream about discovering an extraordinary one that no one else knows about and keeping it a secret. i think i just became one of those people after dining at wasabi.

our meal, began with a vegetarian sushi platter; 18 pieces laid out on an oblong wooden platter; 6 each of spicy aparagus tempura, spicy shiitake mushroom and avocado. three more small dishes followed including rock corn tempura, wasabi tacos and spinach in sesame sauce. the spinach in sesame sauce's taste was haunting and elusive and had a finish as long as that of any single malt scotch.

between servings of each of our dishes, our server, an extremely soft spoken and exceedingly gracious man, had been grating a stump of wasabi root muscling it down hard against some sort of wooden paddle.

choosing a favourite amongst these appetizers would literally be like choosing amongst your children.

when we moved on to the main course and had our first taste of the wasabi rice - warm, fragrant, woody and assertive - we realised that this was probably the most remarkable type of japanese rice preparation either of us had ever tasted.

they also have an amazing new item on the menu which is asparagus in a japanese butter which has also become a favourite.

i recently celebrated my birthday at wasabi and it was without a doubt the best dining experience i've had in a very long time. i'm writing this review and literally salivating at the mention of wasabi tacos; once you have these, you just can't go back to regular mexican tacos. ever.

so much respect for mr. morimoto.

um, yummy. i'm kind of a sushi snob, but this gets 4/5 for being a legit sushi place but not 5/5 because it didn't blow me away. the sashimi was fresh and cut exactly the right size and placed at the right angle, the rice was a perfect bed for the sushi - exactly firm enough to hold together, yet loose enough to fall apart in your mouth.

i think they could put more effort into putting together great seasonal menus, and i appreciate a fattier cut of tuna (but that's just me), but overall a great sushi experience. the ultra-classy ambience of the grand old taj definitely helps.

my hunt for an authentic & truly immaculate japanese food had come to an end when i stepped in at wasabi. in the past i had been disappointed by the food served by some of the most prestigious hotels in mumbai hence i was very skeptical but a visit to wasabi changed it all.

i have never tasted sushi's & sashmi's so brilliant ever. salmon tuna roll & spicy tuna roll are a must try but the shrimp tempura is just too amazing. the pomfret teppanyaki was a true delight & finally the wasabi creme burlee was a perfect way to bring an end to this fiesta.

p.s. you may want to sit by the sushi bar to enjoy watching the sushi's being made by some talented hands.

peace!!
