warung is one of my default recos for restos around kapitolyo, primarily because of ambiance and value for money.
it's a beautiful restaurant. warung was built in what looks like what used to be a big, semi-fancy home. it's spacious with bright lighting and high ceilings. it has a very homey feel to it, amplified by the welcoming and polite staff. the service is great, too.
it can be pretty intimidating - a fancy-looking resto in the middle of kapitolyo can only be expensive. but surprise, surprise: it's not.
you can get delicious meals from only 150 to 300 pesos. and they're not even skimping on the flavor with price this low. there's also plenty to choose from in their menu, they'll give you a hard time choosing.
for vegetables, i suggest you try their gado-gado. and of course, indonesian food hits like nasi goreng, bakmi goreng, and sate ayam.
they're all very flavorful and authentically cooked. a warning tho: they're all on the heavy side so try not too order too much. you should also try their martabak for dessert.
overall, it's one of the few restaurants in kapitolyo that really offer good value for your money. it's great for meetings and dates - the good food and fancy ambiance will defi help you make a good impression. but for people like me who likes to work anywhere but inside an office, it's a great place too. quiet and cozy.
