expensive... but amazing!. we ordered thefondueexperience ($70 per person) with the beef and bisonfondueand it was soooo good! they don't justfondueit in oil... it's some sort of broth. whatever it was, it was delicious! the salad that came as an appetizer was probably one of the best salads i've ever had, and the toblerone chocolatefonduedessert was to die for! i enjoyed every bit of that meal. however i noticed on the bill afterwards that they charged $8 a bottle if you take their choice of sparkling water in the beginning. i could buy the same bottle at my local grocery store for under $3. they asked if we wanted coffee with the dessert and i am relieved that we declined, as they probably would have inflated that price obnoxiously too. we ate for 2 people, and in the end, the bill came to $168 not including tip. this was a once in a lifetime meal for us, and because of the pricey-ness we will probably never eat there again. however, the atmosphere was enchanting and the room was warm and cozy. (they have a big log fireplace lit!) the service was also excellent, but being as the restaurant is part of the banff springs hotel, that is the minimal expectation. all in all, i'd probably give it an 8 or 9 out of 10... if you can afford it, it's worth eating there! (thefondueexperience was the priciest meal on the menu, so other meal options would not be quite as drastically priced.)
