terrific concept. love the idea and the execution. freshwafflesalways filled with unique and tasty ingredients. the menu changes on a monthly basis, so there is always something new to try. i give it 5/5 stars for both creativity and taste.

it is ok. the good: decent coffee; the pulled pork with blue cheese slaw was very tasty; thewafflesseemed fresh.

the less-good:
we have visited there twice and twice it was ok. caveat - we are not the world's greatest lovers of waffles. on both visits there was a sign posted describing an interesting special. the special was not available either time. in both cases we ordered a different dish, and both times they were out of an ingredient for our second choice. 2nd caveat - we went to the weekend brunch both times, and it was busy. my friend ordered the bacon and eggs "debris style" which gives you a base of waffle fries instead of a waffle. the waffle fries were dry and seemed to have sit under a heat lamp for a long while, and not in a good way. the fried chicken on a waffle sounds like such a good idea, but it is a dry combination.

it seems time for the operator to step up her game. order enough food. erase the special when you run out. never let the waffle fries dry out. etc. etc.

my wife and i went here on a recent saturday morning at 7:30 am.  that was a good time to arrive, as we were able to order immediately.  just a half hour later, the line was 5-6 people deep.

i ordered fool's gold  with peanut butter mousse, strawberry anise compote, banana slices, and candied bacon.  however, i asked them to make mine without the candied bacon.  i tried a sample and found it too sweet.  the salty, savory counterpoint of the bacon was buried beneath the sugary coating.  all in all, it was like eating a banana/peanut butter/strawberry sandwich with a knife and fork.  the scoop of whipped cream was of sufficient size that i could grab little forkfuls with each bite of the waffle.

my wife got the ancho bbq pulled pork waffle sandwich.  she said it was delicious. i tried a little bit of the pulled pork with bbq sauce.  the ancho chile gave it enough spice to make it interesting.

as with most desserts, mine was overpriced.  however, for the ingredients in the pork sandwich, i think it could be worth the $9.95 price.

i could have used a refill on water, but the counter staff were busy helping other customers when i needed it.

i am not in love with the waffle sandwich idea, so i'll probably stick with the dessertwaffleson future visits.

this place is usually packed and with good reason. they have such a unique variety and take onwafflesfrom sweet to savory. the bacon is pricey and for what you pay you could easily buy a package of wright's bacon at the grocery store. overall i do like this place.

i loved it. yes the long line out the door was a bit annoying cause it was cold but well worth the wait and nothing an avid traveler isn't used to at a popular place. thewafflesare sinfully good and the atmosphere is fun and trendy.

a regular favorite.. i get into waffle champion about once every 2-3 weeks, mid-week. i've never had to wait for very many people in line ahead of me, but i admit, midweek, mid-morning is when i go. after people are at work, right before the lunch crowd. i like to take a book and just relax for at least a good hour. i always get a cup of the green chile corn chowder. it is just amazing. i love it. i could eat that stuff every single day and not get tired of it. one day i keep telling myself, i'll try to potato n' leek chowder, but i just can't pass up the green chile corn chowder. i'm hooked. with that, i usually get the buttermilk fried chicken liege, but occasionally, i'll go for the pit ham or the bacon, egg, and cheese. all are great. i've never been let down. that fried chicken is just right with that honey. the pit ham with the fried pickles, outstanding. the soup though, it just completes anything. i'm a big fan of the maine root beverages. i actually think the diet maine root is sweeter tasting than the cola, but i could be crazy. like them all though. one of these days, i'm going to get myself a beer. i just never decide until right after i've ordered a soda or tea. lol. i like to try the specials on the column. they're usually pretty interesting and fun, but really, really good. the staff has never been anything but courteous. i don't know, maybe it's because i'm a 32 year old male, not far off from the guys usually behind the counter, but i'm supremely comfortable in there. people have told me my generation expects good service and complains when they don't get it. i don't know if that's true, but i admit, i expect kindness. i get it there. i give people smiles, say please and thank you, and they always do the exact same, usually going a step beyond. you treat people well, they do the same. people griping about service, ask yourself why. yes, it's their job to go above and beyond, but what exactly is the issue? are you doing something? expecting something more than just service? i've never and i mean never been treated with anything but respect and kindness there. it takes a couple minutes, but would you rather they hadwafflesjust hanging out by a heat lamp? this isn't a breakfast buffet. seating isn't overflowing, but sometimes i'm sure it's full. that's what good, busy places do. they fill up. i have been there many times when it was very busy. it wasn't overwhelmingly loud. not at all. loudest part was the talk of the customers, not the kitchen, not the music. remember, i said i take a book. if it's quiet enough i can read, i promise it's not that loud. "only one person taking orders." how many registers up there do you see? it's not walmart with 20 registers and 2 open. "place was half empty, had to wait while they assigned seating." must've been a holiday or something. i've never had to be seated there. not once. and again, i go pretty dang often. the biggest complaint if any that i have is the parking. they know it's inconvenient. there aren't many spots not marked for apartments or other businesses. that's a shame. i wish those same people were restricted to those spots. i've been there with a 100% full lot, parked a block away, and walked in with 4 people in there. every customer and staffer, and the lot wouldn't be half filled. that's just the way it is when you go to a neighborhood in a busy area. i can live with that. the food and the people more than make up for anything.

mass confusion. well, it was our first time to waffle champion, came highly recommended from my brother, and his doctor son in law. saturday morning 8 march 14. we approached the cashier and did not know what to order, so i ordered 2 waffles, 2 eggs, bacon and coffee....my wife wanted one waffle, 2 eggs, bacon and coffee...the cashier said $26.00 please....i was quite shocked, but paid it, got our coffee and sat down....our order came, we got 3 waffles, one order of bacon, and 8 over easy eggs....he did get us another order of bacon, and when we asked why we got 8 eggs, he said hmmmmmm must be a mistake somewhere...he went to the cashier and brought us $6.00 dollars...i still think $20.00 was to expensive for the food we got....the coffee was good and hot, and the eggs andwaffleswere good, although very expensive..but we still don't know why we got 8 eggs.......what an experience.

high expectations. i visited waffle champion with my boyfriend on sunday morning for breakfast. thewafflesand toppings we had were quite good, and the concept is fun (overall: thumbs up for that). however, both ourwafflesand toppings were cold, which in turn made thewafflesthemselves a bit chewy/tough. i'm not sure maybe they are supposed to be served cold? it seemed to me thewaffleswould have been much better if they had been at least warm, it really wasn't busy when we arrived. i had heard good things about the restaurant previously, and it didn't meet our expectations. it's probably not likely that we will go back, but if i do i will ask them to warm up my waffles.

nice addition to midtown. i suggest splitting a savory and a sweet waffle with a friend.wafflestaste great.

parking is fine if you capable of walking 1/2 a block. and seating is what you would expect in a small urban restaurant. if that is problematic for you then you should probably stay in the suburbs.
