terrific concept. love the idea and the execution. fresh waffles always filled with unique and tasty ingredients. the menu changes on a monthly basis, so there is always something new to try. i give it 5/5 stars for both creativity and taste.

great food! worthy the wait in line on the weekend. we had the fried chicken and the pit ham waffle sandwich, with garlic waffle fries & corn chile chowder as the sides. the fried chicken waffle yummy but was pretty dry, we added extra syrup to it though to make it better. the pit ham was delicious too. the surprisingly best part were the garlic fries with the truffle aioli they have for free. the chowder was disappointing. but really good overall - would definitely return.

it is ok. the good: decent coffee; the pulled pork with blue cheese slaw was very tasty; the waffles seemed fresh.

the less-good:
we have visited there twice and twice it was ok. caveat - we are not the world's greatest lovers of waffles. on both visits there was a sign posted describing an interesting special. the special was not available either time. in both cases we ordered a different dish, and both times they were out of an ingredient for our second choice. 2nd caveat - we went to the weekend brunch both times, and it was busy. my friend ordered the bacon and eggs "debris style" which gives you a base of waffle fries instead of a waffle. the waffle fries were dry and seemed to have sit under a heat lamp for a long while, and not in a good way. the fried chicken on a waffle sounds like such a good idea, but it is a dry combination.

it seems time for the operator to step up her game. order enough food. erase the special when you run out. never let the waffle fries dry out. etc. etc.

waffle champion is a restaurant i try and go to whenever i am in the neighborhood. i always love to try the new things on the menu everytime i go. i tried the bison and mac and cheese waffle today. it was very good, although once all the ingredients mixed together it seemed like beef stroganoff on a waffle...not may favorite food. of course, i will continue to go back and try new things. highly recommend to anyone!

worst service i've ever experienced.. let me preface this by saying the food is good. great, even...but not good enough to ever go back. after waiting in line for over half an hour (which was fine, we'd heard excellent things about the food and expected it), we were told our only option was to sit at the bar, even though there were three open four tops. the manager explained that a party of two could not be seated at a four top, ever...okay, except there were two other couples seated at four tops. we asked if we could simply wait for one to become available, and were told they couldn't serve us unless we took the bar seat. we grudgingly did so, where your only option is to hold your purse in your lap. they then seated two more parties of two at four tops while we ate hunched over our stuff in a corner. i asked the manager what was different about those parties upon leaving and was told there were no other seating options...only that was blatantly false, as most of the bar seating was open.

if the setup was more efficient and the staff was trained on the importance of any kind of customer service, this place could be great. as it is now, you get to wait 30-45 minutes to be treated badly. other people in line were complaining that the host was rude as well. it's a shame, really. i wanted to like it and had looked forward to trying it, but by the time the food came out, i had lost my appetite.

this place is one of the best places in okc for breakfast. the waffle concoctions this place creates and their fresh ingredients are superb. my wife and kids love this place and love coming here when we are in the city for overnight stays.

after reading a recent review  of this place i realized it had been 11 months since i had been to waffle champion. there is seriously something wrong with me! and my experience only confirmed my previous 5star experience.

new menu since last time! florentine waffle was amazing. spinach, mushrooms, egg, and béchamel sauce which was absolutely delicious. i usually can't stand béchamel with its flour-y boringness. but this was absolutely flavorful - maybe because of the goat cheese that either melted into it or was infused in. o heaven!

waffle fries - fun as usual. best part is the ketchup/truffle sauces. buttermilk fried chicken - fun as usual, although i took a bite from my friend's - who had gotten it on a liege waffle (belgian, heavy yeast dough, carmelized pearl sugar) which was probably my least favorite part of the experience. the heaviness of this waffle took away. while it was overly sweet, it was an odd sweet and needed more syrup and sweetness to make it work. stick with the classic waffle.

best part was the new expediter/host system. so while we were waiting in the long line, a host greeted us and let us spot the table we wanted, showed us the large number "2" disc and told us he would save our spot. at the counter he asked us our table number, and we were off! this eliminated the "whole racing around for a seat, then losing your seat while you are getting your coffee fixed up, like they used to have" problem last time i visited. simple fix but made all the difference!

great job waffle champion on knowing how to make a busy spot a super busy spot but still the same 5star experience - and maybe a little better!

my wife and i went here on a recent saturday morning at 7:30 am.  that was a good time to arrive, as we were able to order immediately.  just a half hour later, the line was 5-6 people deep.

i ordered fool's gold  with peanut butter mousse, strawberry anise compote, banana slices, and candied bacon.  however, i asked them to make mine without the candied bacon.  i tried a sample and found it too sweet.  the salty, savory counterpoint of the bacon was buried beneath the sugary coating.  all in all, it was like eating a banana/peanut butter/strawberry sandwich with a knife and fork.  the scoop of whipped cream was of sufficient size that i could grab little forkfuls with each bite of the waffle.

my wife got the ancho bbq pulled pork waffle sandwich.  she said it was delicious. i tried a little bit of the pulled pork with bbq sauce.  the ancho chile gave it enough spice to make it interesting.

as with most desserts, mine was overpriced.  however, for the ingredients in the pork sandwich, i think it could be worth the $9.95 price.

i could have used a refill on water, but the counter staff were busy helping other customers when i needed it.

i am not in love with the waffle sandwich idea, so i'll probably stick with the dessert waffles on future visits.

it was okay.  i guess you have to be a super waffle fan.  we were very hungry after waiting in line for about 45 mins so the 1st 3-4 bites tasted like heaven.  then that's about all i could stomach after that.  it was way too rich.  my daughter got the brown sugar/rum bananas and it was delicious.  my other daughter got the blueberry/lemon sunrise and she hated it. i think it is an acquired taste. it was very, very lemony tasting.  i got the french toast and it was also delicious but almost felt like eating dessert and not breakfast. i think we should've gotten one of the sandwich options. i did get two free range eggs on the side, i asked for scrambled but they were cooked pretty hard.  definitely get milk  or coffee as your drink. we got oj and it was just sweet on top of sweet on top of sweet.  definitely didn't think that thru.  all in all, it was still a fun experience and i'm glad we visited it while in okc.

i love waffles. this place has everything waffles. waffles, waffle sandwiches, waffle fries, salads with waffle croutons. it's like there is a theme or something. anyway. i was very pleased with my selection, the fresh lemon curd waffle. it was more a dessert than a breakfast. service was friendly and helpful. the line was long but moved quickly. it was a loud and happenin atmosphere. nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd.

loved the fountain selections without high fructose corn syrup.

one thing to note. the waffle fries were served tepid and stale. that was my only disappointment. probably just mis-timed. portions were a little small.

i love waffle champion. if you go on sunday, get there early before the after church crowd and you're in and out in no time. the buttermilk fried chicken with tabasco honey is my fave. and they have mimosas. oh yeah.
