voodoo bbq & grill

if you are in nola and want some bbq this is where you need to be. easy to get to from downtown via the street car right off the line on st. charles ave.
thefoodwas out of sight. i had the brisket which was so soft it almost melted in your mouth and the smoked sausage it was so good i didn't put any bbq sauce on it. the corn pudding was delicious the greens were so so probably wouldn't get that again i think i am going to go potato salad next time. point is this is great bbq at a great price in a great atmosphere with great service. i really don't know how anyone could dislike this place. i will be back for sure. i feel bad cheating on the joint on poland street for my bbq fix but this is my new stop.

this restaurant was next to our hotel during our trip to new orleans last august, so it was a convenient choice for dinner one night. there was a huge menu which made it hard to choose, but i got a bbq baked potato with pork. i really enjoyed it, and the pork was very moist. however the highlight of my meal was the sweet potato soufflé. you can't skip that if you go there. very sweet but so good. i felt like our cashier was a little rude, especially when we went back to get somefoodthey forgot to give us. but overall, i definitely would say to check this place out of you are nearby. kids menu portions were good. prices a little high, but about in line with everything else in the area.

not good.. thefoodat this restaurant isn't gross, it's just not good bbq. the brisket is dry and without bark. the toast is from those pre-sliced loaves you buy on the frozenfoodaisle of the grocery store. basically it's fastfoodbbq. the baked beans were pretty good though.

i grew up eating texas bbq, so this place isn't the most amazingfoodi have had in the bbq area, but man, oh man, is it still wonderful. i've had jerk chicken, mojo chicken, smoked chicken, and ribs here. all were good, and their greens are to die for!

afterwards it was time for morefood– we all piled into voodoo bbq, cold, wet, but happy. i had a big plate of slow cooked brisket, pulled pork, corn pudding, collard greens and garlic toast.

usually a pretty good place. on december 28 we went to have a nice meal and beer. nope,foodwas cold sat at the bar 20 minutes before anyone got us a beer. didn't even bring my fries out. maybe under new management??? i will never go here again. not never unless you like coldfoodand no service. who dat!!!

tasty lunch. i'd say that this is a good place to grab lunch. i had the chicken jerk bbq, and i enjoyed it. service was quick and cheerful. i can't say that thefoodwas life-altering or anything, but it was good and i would certainly go back. actually somewhat to my surprise, the gris gris and corn pudding sides that i chose were really very good. i guess i don't usually expect sides to be that memorable, but these were mighty fine. i've walked by this place several times during my recent visit to nola and its always seemed to be doing a fairly good business.

had the beef brisket platter with corn pudding and collard greens. thought thefoodwas very good and they have house sauces at the table. from tangy to spicy. prices were a little high but was worth it. will be here for a week and will have more reviews.

not worth your time. a few friends and i were in new orleans for a about a week and our hotel concierge recommended voodoo as a pretty good place to grab some food.....
upon arrival, our group of 8 people was split up into two groups of 4, and we sat on opposite sides of the restaurant from each other. once we had ordered, it took over an hour to get our meals. the pulled pork was delicious, and the side items also tasted fine. but once we had finished our meal, we walked to our friends table (the other portion of our party that the hostess had split apart) and they had not even received their drink orders!!!!!!!

this really pissed our group off... we had waited for a total of an hour and a half for just their drink orders!!! the waitress did not care to serve them when we had mentioned how long we had waited....
once theirfoodhad arrived and and my friends had finished eating, we had spent 3.5 hours at the restaurant. completely absurd. will never return-highly recommend you don't either!

fastfoodbbq. this is a fastfoodchain. the bbq pork and jerk chicken are good choices. the specialty bbq suaces on the table are tasty. it is fast and tasty.

a big step up from the fastfoodatmosphere, everything but the jerk chicken was quite impressive. ribs very tender, all the pork was good. sides were excellent and the service was great. extra points for the extensive beer selection.

have you tried the greens?. they are friggin awesome!!! i visit voodoo on the regular and love everything! my favorite combonations are:
1/4 bbq chix with greens and corn pudding! or if you get a burger add a side of beans and dip your fries in them yum yum yum! all of theirfoodis truly amazing! id eat there every day if i could afford it! and their sweet tea is to die for!!!!!!
