good food. real friendly. my son and i stopped in here on an overnight layover in nola. it was late and we got in just prior to closing but they stayed open and didn't rush us! i had the voodoo burger and i think nick had a po boy. both were over the top!

voodoo bbq is by no means the best bbq in the city, but it does the job if you have a hankering and you're on st. charles. their jerk chicken is my favorite thing on the menu, and the corn pudding is soooooooooooo good! sweet and buttery like all the best things in life!

a big step up from the fast food atmosphere, everything but the jerk chicken was quite impressive. ribs very tender, all the pork was good. sides were excellent and the service was great. extra points for the extensive beer selection.

1/4 bbq chix with greens and corn pudding! or if you get a burger add a side of beans and dip your fries in them yum yum yum! all of their food is truly amazing! id eat there every day if i could afford it! and their sweet tea is to die for!!!!!!

in fact, pretty good. tangy sauce, cheezy atmosphere.

carefully observed opinion. i have eaten bbq in many cities across the usa. there are a lot of different styles of bbq and while i don't try to compare them to each other, i just want to enjoy each type for what it is.
voodoo bbq is a cross between several different styles of bbq.
the meats are always well cooked and the taste is great. the sauces serve a wide range of tastes.
the sides are really interesting. the beans are very good and the corn pudding is too.

we will be back

tried it twice but won't be back. they have won the gambit award. which is why i tried more than once. but they must have bought the award, and i never talk bad about something unless i've tried at least two times.

it might be an acquired taste.

i am from a bbq town - kansas city, and can't talk bad about bbq. people ask if the bbq is better there. i just say there is more variety. kinda like i can't say the gumbo/red beans & rice/etc...... are "better in in nola" you just have the variety... some you like some you don't

i liked squeal and ugly dog's bbq as alternate choices--if you like ugly dog's slaw you might like voodoo's bbq and vice-a-versa?

great bbq and beer on the cheap.. first off this place is nothing fancy. it all goes toward the food. i had brisket, potato salad and beans, with a side of sausage (and my wife's cole slaw) with a beer and i was in heaven.
dollar for dollar (i ate in some fancy places this trip) this was the best lunch i had in new orleans and with a city this full of amazing restaurants, that is saying something.
if you love bbq, don't pass on this restaurant. plus it's right at a trolley stop.
