beware other diners - service and staff are quite rude. food was okay though.
had lunch between 12-1 on a sunday after a long wait. the wait itself didn't ruin it for me though, i don't mind waiting for good food.
entire dining experience was ruined by me asking for some "cold water please".
the lady brought a jug of coke and i kindly informed here that it wasn't what we had asked for, expecting she withdraw the coke and bring water as any otherrestaurantwould do.
she immediately became angry and visibly frustrated, shaking her head and proceeded to mumble: "next time you come here, ask for tap water, not cold water".
i informed her that tap water wouldn't have been ice cold and that interchangeable terminology, whether it be ice water, cold water, cold tap water all imply 'water' and that in norestaurantwould 'cold water' really be considered as 'coke water'.
she responded by saying "well most of the waitresses and waiters here are vietnamese, so you need to adjust your language for us". i immediately saw how childish and immature this lady was, mind you in her 50s so i just stopped responding to her. she continued to utter words while i just ignored her.
my thoughts?
sure, arestaurantmay have non-english speaking staff, that is entirely up to them who they hire.
however, if you incorrectly take a customer's order, just kindly rectify that and move on - diners want food, drink and a pleasant experience and staff want to ensure that should happen. don't make snarky comments about the terminology a customer should use to order 'water'.
that wasn't the end of it.
she continued to stare at our table for another 15 minutes from behind the bar where she was washing cups and muttered to her colleagues (potentially) foul words while we were eating and even as we had left.
i am not aware of her position in the restaurant, whether she is the owner, management or waitress, but regardless, that gives her no right to treat anyone in such a manner.
