we went there today to have yum cha for lunch. the queue was somewhat 15 m long when we arrived. we waited patiently until our turn to get the table. one third of the restaurant was not used, tables were set, but lights were off. after we got the table, it took some times for us to be served, and while we were waiting, we thought that it would be nice that we helped ourselves with some forks and spoons as some of us don't do chopsticks. my manager went to pick up some forks and suddenly this rude woman in glasses and ponytails yelled on top of her voice from the other side of the room while she was setting up a table for my manager to just sit down and wait to be served. all eyes were on us as the restaurant was full of guests. we were so embarrassed as if we were criminals getting caught stealing something. then, after a while she came and asked what we needed.
towards the end of the 45 minute limit, the same rude woman came to our desk again, telling us rudely that our time is off. then, my manager who was finishing her last pieces of vegies and told her that we will be finishing soon. did not care about my manager's remark, she grabbed the dish and her chopsticks, plates and bowls. we were all aghast! why would a restaurant staff be so rude and has no manners at all??? is this the way vinhphattrain their staff???
we know that this restaurant is famous, has nice food, but does that compensate the service? there are lots of people out there who has better manners and wants to work. if this woman has attitude issues, vinhphatmanagement better act fast. we will come again next time, but we will not want this woman to serve us!
and just for your information, by 1.40 we were finishing, there was no one queueing for the table!

ruined my first experience due to biting a stapler in the dumpling!!!. my first time at vinhphatwas a bad experience with the siu mai dumplings. i bit into a stapler! yes, a stapler. and i thank god that my teeth were not affected nor i swallowed the stapler. i took the stapler out in front of the staff, and expected them to ask me if i was okay, but they were glaring at me for the whole time. i was going to make a complaint, but cannot believe i let it go this time. this incident affected my appetite afterwards. perhaps, they should be cautious next time with the food handling, because they were lucky that i didn't swallow the stapler.

there's no place like home: this phrase is truer than true growing up in cabramatta. the main streets to the narrowest of alleyways are full of life with hustle and bustle at each turn. a predominately vietnamese and chinese community, this small south-western suburb put itself on the map for its diverse asian culture, bargain fabrics and affordable eats. where else are you going to find some of sydney's best pork rolls, supermarkets selling exotic fruit like durian and thai grocery stores - and all within a couple of metres from one another? the growing little asia metropolis that was once overshadowed by its dark past, these days you'll count yourself lucky to get a parking spot within 30 minutes and don't have to wait more than that for a seat at the restaurant. we were not so lucky for this sunday morning unfortunately taking more than 40+mins to find parking... after vigorously fighting old ladies for parking spots, we finally made it to queue for vinhphatyum cha. vinhphathas been around for as long as i can remember, a small institution that planted their roots at the space across the road (now the vietnamese street food place). the previous space housed no more than twenty tables i think, with apprehensive red curtains and worn down fittings. still, they did well. really well and enough for them to move to into a much bigger space opposite. after a 30-40minute wait, we got to the top of the stairs to see the whole space filled with happy diners. hot tea, chilli sauce and menus were given to us as soon as we sat down - not as if we needed them though, we're regular yum cha eaters ;-)

vinhphatis my favourite yum cha place in sydney that’s super affordable, has the best quality food and has a clean appealing interior. vinh phat’s lines are always excessive on weekends and public holidays so don’t be angry or surprised if you’re waiting for up to an hour. i prefer to go on weekdays in the morning! vinhphathas a great selection of dishes - my personal favourites are chicken feet, the seafood spring rolls, prawn rolls and steamed rice noodles. the mango pancake and silky tofu dishes are popular dishes. unlike a lot of yum cha places i’ve tried in sydney that are outside south west sydney, you don’t have to pay for tea. if you go in the afternoon, sometimes there are less trolleys of food going around and the ladies might miss your table if you’re positioned on the edge, but don’t hesitate to ask someone to order!

hands down have never ever tried a better place for yum cha than this place. always been a loyal customer for many years, i am happy to say that this place has always been good and consistent. price and food quality is fairly reasonable and cheap compared to any other yum cha within the area. i am up for any suggestion on any other places that are better than vinhphatbecause i’m pretty set at this place !

vinhphatis an absolute gem, i've been coming here my whole life, back when this place had creepy blood red velvet curtains and those nostalgic red melamine longevity bowls that were in desperate need of an upgrade. there is always a massive queue on the weekends but the food here is top notch, my recommendation is to order everything. since it's renovation and relocation, the restaurant has significantly revamped its decor and so i find myself coming here for more special occasions such as birthdays, graduations, ect. i have such fond memories of this place will continue to do so.

vinhphatis by far the most popular yumcha restaurant within cabramatta. if you're visiting on a weekend, you should expect a really really long line. however it is one of the most costly yum cha in this district. i really love the mango pancake and the tofu dessert.

vinhphatyumcha (morning) is still fine but dinner is getting crappy now. their food quality standard is not consistent and the price is not cheap.

i have experienced a couple of times when i had dinner there with my family. i couldn't believe they served very old and rotten oysters with xo sauce dishes. usually the oysters have to be a bit chewy and you can still taste the freshness in your mouth.
i am so disappointed as a regular customer.

for me the customer service is still fine, it is just the foods quality need to be improved.

i came back here for dinner with my family and the quality was top-notch. we had scallop noodles, steam abalone & oyster, prawn spring rolls, and vinhphatfried rice. oh everything was amazing!!!

you should try out yumcha here if you haven’t already. it is one of the best in sydney.

since the renovation, vinhphathas become so popular among yum cha lovers. the place is clean and spacious, so even the wait on a saturday can be really quick (5-10 minutes). the prawn and scallop siu mai is my favourite, but other dishes are really tasty as well. i’d love to take my friends here so we can try out more yum cha dishes.

despite vinhphatalways being packed, this is my favourite yum cha place in cabramatta. expect a long line if you arrive at around 11am. you may be expected to wait for about 30 minutes or longer until you are able to get a table. the service works like this, so there are trollies of food going around and if you want something you just tell the ladies how many you want. the service is very quick and simple. there are many different dishes to choose, from savoury to sweet. though, yum cha closes at 3pm. the atmosphere is quite loud and warm with everyone talking amongst themselves. the environment is extremely clean. all foods are reasonably priced for yum cha.

the best yum cha in cabramatta. it's so affordable here and you will never leave hungry! all the traditional yum cha dishes are available here including hargao, siu mai, chicken feet and mango pancakes.

however, the service leaves a lot to be desired. don't look for a smile from staff or wait to hear a please or thank you. if vinhphatcan improve this part of their restaurant, then they'll definitely be a lot more popular!

vinhphatis the best value yum cha i've had in sydney. i usually come here in a group of 4-8 people, the bill is always $15-20pp and we're always rolling out the door really full. queues here can be quite long, but turnover seems quite fast. i've had to wait in queues going out the door, going down the street, but i've always been seated within less than half an hour.

the service here is also sharp and fast, just the way i like it. the if the trolley aunties don't have what you're after, they tend to get your order through pretty fast. all the standard dim sum are great, always piping hot and not over-steamed. they do a really good liu sha bao (golden lava bun) which i've found quite difficult to find in sydney. i also love how they offer vietnamese iced coffee in the restaurant too!

a must try yum cha if you're in the west. fast service, decent food selection, and best value!

vinhphatis one of our favourite yum cha restaurant in sydney. there is always a line on the weekends, but it does move quite quickly.

plenty of food trolleys pushing around. dumplings and other dishes are all hot and tasty. no extra charge for soya sauce & fresh chilli 🌶 unlike most other yum cha joints.

service is very rushed, but you do get what you want if you ask.

very affordable price for yum cha!

vinhphatis the yum cha institution in cabramatta. many will remember when they were at their original smaller location on the same road – for some reason, the dark red colour of the interior is my main recollection of that location, outside of the food. however, the consistency of their yum cha over time cannot be rivalled.

to keep this brief, because well, if you haven’t been to vinhphatyet, you really should hurry up and go (though watch out for the lines from about 11am on the weekend), i’m going to focus on the key dishes that place the vinhphatyum cha food a notch above most other yum cha places including the phoenix branches.

1. steamed prawn rice noodle rolls (pictured above) – the vinhphatnoodle rolls are the softest and silkiest i’ve had at any yum cha place. pretty much all other yum cha restaurants will have this dish but will fail at the dish due to hard rice noodle rolls

2. seafood and bean curd spring rolls with plum sauce (pictured above) – this has just the right level of greasiness with a juicy prawn and scallop filling
