in town way before iron chef, on the other side of cabramatta hit town. now in a glam new upstairs location, it's as popular as ever, with long yum cha queues on weekends. it's weird to think people would come to cabramatta for yum cha, but the hoards of out-of-towners and locals prove otherwise.

the price was reasonable between 6 adults and 3 kids at $135.00. i thought we over ordered considering how full we got and the number of dishes ordered. however the meals were average except the taste of the tripes and scallop dim sims were good. the cheong fun needed a little softer bite, the portions of the tripes were inconsistent and, the amount of cream given in mango pancakes was too much thus it made the pancakes a bit too creamy (more mango please). if we didn't order so many of cheong fun plates, i would've happily ordered the pork mince balls, taro pork balls, congee or har gow. maybe next time i am by syd, i would definitely do that.

went here for yum cha in the afternoon and already the line was out the door and along the side of the street. waited for about a good 30 mins for 3 ppl but it didn't bother me at all. i really enjoyed this yum cha. nice restaurant. english speaking waitresses. good food. and overall not that expensive.

food: all foods are amazing compared to other yum cha spots.
the restaurant will always has plenty of varieties to cater for everyone.
waiters are always around to make sure we are satisfied and not short of any utensils etc.

mango pancakes are always a must! the pancakes are always fresh, tastes amazing and is a great size for individuals :)

* great turn around time
price: 4 people = $120

it’s not often that i’m immediately seated at this bustling yum cha joint. a wait in the foyer is a common experience for visitors to vinh phat, and it’s no surprise why their customers are willing to brave the queues time and time again.

from its humble beginnings as a hole in the wall dim sum restaurant, to its now luxurious open floor dining experience, vinh phat has always stayed true to what has kept it in business for so long; delectable yum cha at a devilishly low price.

this would have to be the best place for yum cha in sydney and judging from other reviews, i'm not the only one who thinks this way. it is very popular on the weekends and the queue can sometimes go all the way down the stairs and out the front entrance along the streets. but don't let the queue dishearten you as it does move pretty quickly. if you would rather avoid the queue altogether, it is best to go during weekdays.

interior is spacious, clean and actually quite nice. the ladies pushing the trolleys are friendly, but getting the attention of other staff to order drinks or pay the bill can be a challenge at times, as they are usually walking by really fast and preoccupied with clearing and setting up tables.

the upside to eating during the busy weekend, is that the food trolleys come around much more frequently and with more variety to choose from. the food is pretty much all the usual favourites such as prawn dumplings, chicken feet, siu mai, tripe, fried rice flour cakes with eggs, flat rice noodle prawn rolls, seafood spring rolls, salads, mango pancakes, egg tarts etc.

comparing to other yum cha places, the prices are cheaper and although there is usually a mix of good and bad dishes, the food at vinh phat is tasty and consistent. they give you your own individual, generous serving of chili sauce too, can you believe there are actual places that give you just one to share?

i came here for breakfast and there was a line ! the food is awesome here and so cheap.. approx $5 for a basket for dumplings... the place was packed and it looked like everyone was going hard on every trolley. i highly recommend the prawn dumplings and chicken feet.

it's probably the best yum cha i've had in sydney (and it's definitely the best in cabramatta), and the price is good too. it's our family's go-to place if we want to eat out so we've been there many times over the years and it has never disappointed. the food comes out hot and is always delicious. the service is great. and since their refurb, the decor is stunning as well. there's a reason why people line up for this place.

vinh phat is seriously one of my most favorite place for yumcha here in sydney and definitely worth a long drive!
waited for 30 mins on sunday morning (the queue moved quite fast) and got quite a big table for 4 of us.. their pork and scallop dumpling, chicken feet, jellyfish cold salad and the ham sui kok are 4 must-order dishes whenever we go there..
their egg tart is so flaky but still buttery and crumbly while the eggy filling is abundant, creamy and not to sweet..

cheapest yum cha in sydney (and yummy too)!

waited around 10mins to be seated on a sunday afternoon too. for a table of 4 we chose alot of food. i was already full half way but half the table was with guys so you know the deal. we had alot of the seafood dishes which were so gooood! my favourite is this crispy football shaped thing filled with mince(?) i really don't know but every time i go to a yum cha i have to get on that. the service is what you expect from a yum cha in cabramatta - average... nothing special.

all in all. great food at a great price! the bill was only $80. i still can't believe it. go to this yum cha everyone!

steam your appetite with a splash of yum cha classics and garnish with a bowl of silky sweet tofu to finish off your palette. don’t expect a huge variety and there are long queues most of the time but it’s the best option in town for that yum cha hit.

vinh phat yumcha
chinese breakfast with small tapas style food within a modern decor restaurant. they also provide fresh seafood for dinner or a chinese banquet. i often come here for yumcha on certain dishes i crave for but they should invest into having a wider choice.
recommend
chicken feet
dumplings (siu mai and har gow)
seafood springroll (signature)
mango desserts

quality food, fast service. arriving at vinh phat at 12:30pm on sunday means queuing in a line that stretches downstairs all the way outside, for 20-30 minutes. on our way out though, at around 1:30pm the queue was significantly shorter and is probably the better time to arrive at if you are no early bird. upon being seated, ample food trolleys quickly stopped and advertised their food items. we had the prawn spring rolls, chicken feet, prawn dumpling, prawn dumpling with chives, flat rice with prawn and soy sauce, tripe and shu mai. the most popular dish is the prawn spring rolls - tra gio chieu chau, 4 brown deep fried spring rolls with prawn filling, covered in a thick sweet and sour sauce. the dumplings were generally of high quality. service was as expected, nothing to complain about. a very enjoyable casual experience.
