came in today expecting to get instant services, and different foods to be delivered. however, they kept recycling the dishes going around, and the foods were average today. very disappointed as i do come occasionally for that yumcha experience once in a while. but the service was so slow, and i had to skip the desert, the mango pancake today because i was not happy. experience could have been better.

worst dinner experience ever! i have never had such poor service. ruined my birthday. literally the 1st 3 things i wanted on the menu were unavailable because there was a "big" party that ordered all their stock - this party consists of 40 people that took up only 1/10th of the restaurant. so they can't even cater for capacity food wise.
all of my 7 orders came out one at a time in the slowest manner, almost after we'd finish one the next would come. this is not the chinese dining way. it should be all enjoyed at once with rice. i had to ask for my fried rice 5 times,, food comes and we have no rice to eat it with, i kid you not. then that went so quickly coz we were all starving that i had to ask for more rice another 5 times! i had one order of food left and by this time we had finished everything, i told the girl to cancel it and she just says "but they're already making it". i say to her l, "look at the table, your packing it up coz we are finished and you want me to wait for one dish, that i have nothing (no rice) to eat it with?!". by this stage i was fuming.
i would never come here for dinner again.
don't get me wrong, its good for yum cha, but dinner service is like a "one year wait for food" (quote from my nephew who was hangry by this point).
to sum it up, they have no food you want, no service, no rice apparently, and generally what we ate was not worth the $400 bill - my sister claims she could have just made half the menu at home and it would taste the same. go to iron chef on the other side of the station next time. it's much better. if i could give this a minus ten rating, i would.

we were looking 4ward 2 eating crab 2nite after a long wk at work.  thought we'd try this place because yum cha wasn't too bad

i would give this restaurant a negative million billion trillion zillion etc if such a score existed for their singaporean mud crab

1.  it was sweet n sour flavoured with tomatoes, onions, capsicum & pineapples with egg in their sauce - no spice or chilli hit watsoeva...totally wrong & taste wrong

2.  my partner & i were given 2 x tiniest crabs ever - both weighed less than 1kg in total & we paid $98/kg...given stupid reason/excuses as if we're stupid

3.  i just came out of the toilet from bad food poisoning effect lol disgusting but true...stomach still hurts

vinh phat is a must if you're in cabramatta and craving yum cha. i've been going to cabramatta for yumcha since i was born (not exaggerating) and this place definitely dwarfs its competitors. if i had to find a fault, it would be the long lines outside during lunch hours but that's to be expected given the popularity of the restaurant. overall, it trumps all other yumcha restaurants in the area (in my personal opinion of course)

great dim sum at a great price.

partner and i go here all the time after a cabramatta local took us once. for two we usually pay around $25-30 total and it's a feast (more if you get drinks etc etc). big bonus to me is that they open earlier than most yum cha places, so you can actually go for breakfast rather than waiting (starving) til 10.30am.

we always get: lo bak go (radish cake), har gow, sui mai, congee (has shredded pork and century egg...it's delicious). if still hungry or with a bigger group, try the 'football', fried noodles, and the dan tarts are good for a sweet treat.

they have a stir fried egg and rice cake dish that's really unusual and tasty too, and lots more to try--just keep eating!

had yum cha here on a sunday and got a table straight away! they have all the usual options with some dishes you don't see at too many other yum cha places. the chickens feet, siu mai and gow gee were particularly good. i tried the sticky rice wrapped in tofu and was very disappointed. tea was really good.

there's nothing i love more than trying a new restaurant. especially when it's one in the heart of cabramatta and that serves my all time favorite, yum cha!
so after travelling for nearly a day, the first place we drove to from the airport is straight to vinh phat. it's just after lunch time and we call them to make sure they are still serving. we arrive around 2:30pm on a friday and luckily for us there's still food on the trolleys.
although we have chinese heritage none of us can speak it, but we know most of the yum cha names and the ones we don't we either point or describe and the servers knows what we mean.
we stock up on dumplings, har gow, pork & prawn siu mai, cheung fun, chinese vegetables, pork spare rib, my parents order chicken feet and i also ask for the "footballs" aka combination deep fried dumplings. sydney does some amazingly good yum cha. i live in dubai and i've found some great places to eat yum cha but nothing beats sydney. the fact that pork is available in sydney plays a big part.
regardless of the time we dined the food from the trolleys was still fresh and hot so even more enjoyable. the restaurant itself it's spacious and i can imagine it being extremely busy on the weekends for brunch service. the best part about yum cha at home is it's quick, you don't need to order & wait you simply grab what you want off the trolleys which came straight to your table. so if you're hungry you can quickly satisfy that grumbling tummy.
i ate so much that i had to pack the mango pancakes for take away. i missed these so much living abroad as nowhere in dubai serve them so i make sure i devoured it slowly when i reached home, enjoying the thick soft pancake wrap and the fresh mango filling with cream.
vinh phat is one of the more affordable yum cha's in town and is definitely worth checking out.

you have to come here for the best dim sum ever! there was a huge line and according to friends there is always a line. but it's worth it, the dim sum servings were large in comparison to other dim sum places. we had the ha-gou, cheong-fun, bbq port buns, egg tarts, siu-mai. i highly recommend everyone to try the lao sa pau-amazing! it was so fresh and soft and there was so much salted egg filling, it was dripping out. so delicious!

the go to place for yum cha! nicely decked out with delicious food and good variety, it's only let down would be that the food does not circulate very well, sometimes having the same trolley pass you multiple times or having no food come past you at all (especially if you sit on the opposite side of the kitchen).
overall good food, good decor, good price.

my go to yum cha everytime i am in sydney. sooooooo cheap compared to other yum cha places. eat till you're content here. pros- chicken feet, tripes (all kinds) scallop shu mai! green vegies. cons- sometimes waiting in line on the wkend, not enough variety coming through.

vinh phat has always been our go to yum cha spot. i was so happy that they moved to this new location across the road because their old place was filthy but it didn't stop us eating there. so bad! their seafood spring rolls is my all time favourite dish here. yum! wish they weren't so tight & left the lettuce that use to be on the dish there.

hands down best yum cha in sydney. i've gone to vinh phat ever since i was little and nothing compares. the service is below average, however you don't come to a place like this for the service. it's all about the food. you 100% have to get the siu mai when you're here.

it's been a while since i've been here, last time they were opposite the street is m the ground floor in a much smaller venue. service is helpful we asked for bbq pork buns which we didn't see in any of the carts so they got sum for us. had various dumplings, nothing stood out but they were good. about a third of them though, the skin of the dumplings got stuck on the bamboo trays. the mango pudding was nice with mango pieces in there but the mango pancake tasted a bit funny, can't put our finger in it whether it was the skin, the cream or mango pieces themselves. prices are reasonable and the ambience a lot more modern than there previous venue. in terms of wheelchair access i got no idea if they have a lift somewhere. overall enjoyed the experience here
