my husband and i were visiting omaha for our anniversary and decided to stop at upstream - we liked the outdoor area and the pizzas on the menu sounded intriguing. we sat down at a table outside and waited for our server. we proceeded to wait for someone to greet us, as two servers stood 15 feet away talking to a friend at another table. turned out that our table was in another server's section, and she was too busy to greet us right away, but it would have been nice for the unoccupied servers nearby to at least give us menus! our server ended up giving her table to one of the servers previously standing near us. he was nice and did a good job, but seemed preoccupied. we ordered the hummus platter, bbq pizza, and shrimp pizza. it was all delicious. the prices weren't unreasonable as well - about $11 for each of our 12 inch thin crust pizzas and $8 for the appetizer.
overall - food, location, atmosphere, all great; service could be better, but may have just been a bad day. would visit again!

was told 45 minute wait (fairly accurate) for a table when arrived for lunch at 1 pm. waited over an hour after sitting down to receive food that was ordered almost immediately. our table was not the only one experiencing a delay but delays were inconsistent throughout the restaraunt. a larger table that was seated after us recieved their meals at least 15 minutes before we did. my steak was very good but not cooked evenly. my request for customization of the salad was met. to summarize food was good but not worth the wait. the staff apologized for delay but made no offer of any discount or complimentary item to offset experience.

it's built around beer so i focus on that. this is a good spot for a burger and a beer. the scotch ale is my favorite beer of all time, and the saison is also well done. however, the food has become dissapointing over the last few years. the menu reads well, but kitchen doesn't match the passion of the author. ask the staff for recomendations; they are well educated on their menu and beer.

despite the poor reviews i went here on a sat night. i sat at the bar and had excellent service. i had two different beers and both were very well done (i brew myself so i'm not some bud light drinker who thinks all craft beer is overpriced). they sell growlers for 12 which is downright cheap for quality craft brew. the bartenders are as courteous and timely as could be, and the place was packed. i ordered wings. the blue cheese was obviously made in house and was very good. the wing sauce was great and might be spicy to some but i eat sriracha like ketchup. the wings weren't crispy enough for me but i didn't order them extra crispy so that's on me. very saucy wings. overall, this was an excellent experience especially for 9pm on a saturday night.

not so hot anymore. we dined there on a thursday night. the food was b....a....d.
what was once a fresh and inviting restraunt has become a boring overpriced tourist trap. ordered a ny strip steak, medium rare. on the menu it plainly states: "omaha steak"..it was not. grisly, overcooked and served with a questionable sauce the steak had the distinct flavor of fish. i asked the server to take it back and was served a replacement in under 5 minutes. this on was raw. plus it still had the overpowering flavor of fish. no no no no
they have become a restraunt that you should avois at all costs.

adequate. this is a large pub or brewery that serves very average food. i can't ever find anything on the menu that sounds appealing. same for the people i was eating with. if i had to choose my favorite items here over the years, they are the beer sampler and the beer cheese soup. i believe the desserts are good and the specialty mixed drinks decent. other than that, nothing much stands out. rework the pot roast; i so want that to be good. i can make better at home, and that's not saying much.

was really excited to try this highly recommended place. great building with opportunity for wonderful atmosphere. this all came to a screeching halt at the hostess stand. both young ladies were at best cold in their greeting. even though it was a slow night we were taken to a small table in the corner. we ask to be moved to a table near the tv's since it was monday night and football was about to be on. she muttered something and walked away. we went to the table and immediately were interrogated by a waiter named kevin. we explained our wanting to move and he said something about throwing off the "rotation". then he brought me a placemat that was sticky and dirty. uughhh! when our food came he put my food in front of my friend. ... anyhow didn't get much better. my soup was only half in the bowl and half down the side. awful presentation. tasted ok and was at least hot. this could be an amazing restaurant but i won't go back.

good beer, decent food. my husband and i decided to try out upstream as we love craft beer and pub food. the beer was pretty good; the chocolate saison was not nearly as flavorful as we had hoped it would be, but the firehouse red lager was great. we chose to have the calamari appetizer before ordering our entrees. unfortunately, it tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave rather than cooked fresh. it was overly chewy and the batter wasn't crunchy at all. the mac & cheese more than made up for the so-so appetizer though. it was delicious. i would definitely go back and order that again!

avoid salmon. first of all let me say i really enjoy the adult beverages at upsteam, and i feel guilty for judging a place by its food, but i had the salmon here recently and it was in a work not good! overpriced and bland is no way to go through life. another thing i don't understand about upstream is how the location in west o's food is significantly better than the downtown location. i'd reccomend the bbq chicken pizza, but avoid the salmon at all costs.

quite good... especially for beer gnurds.. really enjoyed our family outing while in omaha. i'd had upstream on my list to sample the local beer scene and was not disappointed. i was able to sample the dundee scotch ale which was nery nice (see ratebeer.com so i don't have to belabor the beer issue). the food was very good; pork tenderloin sandwich (yum!), cavatelli mac & cheese (a little boring , but good), and a cheese pizza for the little guy (also yum, i ate his left overs). the service was... interesting. not bad, but not very attentive. this could also be due to the fact that the space is huge (two floors), half empty and they stick us at the very rear of the second floor (?) with, quite literally, no other occupied tables. weird.
