i've always had a bias view of two birds because of how vegan friendly they are, being vegan myself. i love how they supply vegan alternatives that aren't really on offer in most places - eg, coconut cream, coconut flavored milk, vegan snickers bars..not to mention the vegan meals on offer.
the last few visits over the course of the past 6 months have been disappointing though. the food is nice, but either sickly sweet or bland savoury. it is healthy and you never feel guilty for eating such a good sized portion, but i feel like they could do better in terms of taste, especially for their menu items. (except for the acai bowl, it's reallyniceand fresh tasting, save for the surprise super chunks of brazil nuts)
the food doesn't bother me too much because i still like to go back for more, but their service is making the place more and more off putting. while they have improved the organization, the staff just seem super unhappy and dull, as if they'd rather be anywhere else. i work as a waitress and i understand that it can get tiresome to play happy all of the time, but it's part of the job if you want to create a good relationship with your customers. you don't have to be a spongebob level of happy robot, but a smile and a bit of enthusiasm goes a long way, even if your customer is being a jerk.
