food is nice and fresh - service not so much, particularly from a bigger blonde lady is terrible. my friend and i had ordered coffees and a meal each and before we had planned to leave i ordered a maca green tea to takeaway - i'd satbackdown to join my friend again and the blonde lady came over and started yelling at me that the coffee guy was yelling out my order and i shouldve picked it up. she shouldn't be a waitress.

absolutely love this hidden gem! the food is delicious, fresh and there are many different options to suit all dietary requirements. the staff are lovely and it has a nice ambience. there is plenty of seating, with lovely outdoor options too. definitely going to bebackagain!

visited today with my grandmother for the first time. excellent food, coffee and service, and the place itself is the jewel of ham east, if not hamilton itself. great vibe and cool relaxed setting. we will bebackfor more!

i've always had a bias view of two birds because of how vegan friendly they are, being vegan myself. i love how they supply vegan alternatives that aren't really on offer in most places - eg, coconut cream, coconut flavored milk, vegan snickers bars..not to mention the vegan meals on offer.
the last few visits over the course of the past 6 months have been disappointing though. the food is nice, but either sickly sweet or bland savoury. it is healthy and you never feel guilty for eating such a good sized portion, but i feel like they could do better in terms of taste, especially for their menu items. (except for the acai bowl, it's really nice and fresh tasting, save for the surprise super chunks of brazil nuts)
the food doesn't bother me too much because i still like to gobackfor more, but their service is making the place more and more off putting. while they have improved the organization, the staff just seem super unhappy and dull, as if they'd rather be anywhere else. i work as a waitress and i understand that it can get tiresome to play happy all of the time, but it's part of the job if you want to create a good relationship with your customers. you don't have to be a spongebob level of happy robot, but a smile and a bit of enthusiasm goes a long way, even if your customer is being a jerk.

i really enjoyed my lunch here today. great place, good service. i had the protein salad and it was delicious, they had run out of avacado...but topped up my salad with extra chicken so i was happy...the satay sauce on the chicken was yum yum yum. everything was gluten free (which was really exciting)...and i would have loved to try some of the goodies in the cabinet but didn't have time...i will bebackto try that cheesecake though!

quiet saturday morning, we ordered their popular smoothie. the green tease me smoothie was amazing. right consistency and the taste of coconut water came through and was not overpowered by the avocado component! and the chocolate peanut butter protein drink is just divine. reminded me a lot of peanut slabs!

caveman (two birds eatery's version of a full breakfast) was alright. very filling. although, i did find the sausage to be abit too oily for me.

would comebackfor the drinks and the cabinet food next time ( the desserts looked appetising)

had to comebackbecause i see this place as a escape world from work.

so i got the buckwheat chia pancakes with a small version of the brotein smoothie as was told the full sized smoothie is filling.

they had a adequate reading supply including the nz herald.

smoothie came out, this was nice and refreshing, consume it slowly because the taste is great.

pancakes came out, had to wait a wee while but hey didn't mind as it was my day off and was in a rush to go anywhere. normally go for a savoury option come breakfast time, but thought ordering pancakes had to be done (did not regret that decision as they kept me full until 1:30 pm).

i have been here about 4 times now because i visit hamilton on a regular basis. the service is the slowest service i have ever come across. it is slow in every way, the girl taking the order was extremely slow and in total it took about 30 mins for a takeaway coffee and smoothie.

this isn't different from my other trips, and i comebackbecause the smoothies and coffees are great. even when i dine in the food is lovely and light.

atmosphere is ok, very old set up, old carpet, not modern despite the cuisine, but nice outside area. very basic. staff ok.

not the most inviting entrance but once your in the cafe its lovely with a great outdoor space and good table options for groups. id heard a lot about their raw slices so took hubby out for lunch. i had a lovely prawn salad served by the cashier so i didn't have to wait too long. it was fresh and very tasty..just a lil too much coriander but that's a personal thing. with a side of beetroot, kale n potato chips... very yummy. hubby got the steak sandwich which he really enjoyed. the snickers slice i feel was over priced (i make raw slices so am aware they cost more) maybe it could be slightly smaller as the heat had totally collapsed it by the time i finished it and maybe 6.50ish. however the coffee... i was very disappointed for rocket coffee it was tasteless and mostly foam not at all a flatwhite.. sorry guys at your standard of cafe the coffee must be good...they did offer to remake but frist impressions stick. i'll definatly gobackand hope for a better cup next time.

went here in the weekend awesome cafe, very busy but didn't wait long. i had the caveman breakfast my gf had vegan pancakes and we both had smoothies. staff were friendly would have given a five if it was nice enough to utilise there out door area but i'll bebackto do that in summer

i hate that i am writing this as i used to love two birds eatery, especially the raw cabinet food! it was my most fave cafe in hamilton. i'm not usually one to complain, but the past 6 or so times i have been i just keep getting more and more disappointed. every time i go, there is always something that ruins my lunchtime, once it was a half hour wait on only a smoothie, one time i booked a table of a 10 and we were only aloud 1 menu because they didn't have enough to go around, i've been served undercooked fries and too frozen to eat cheesecake, and just constantly been given really poor customer service. when i went last week for lunch i was absolutely disgusted and will never be returning again after my experience (despite the free smoothie voucher i was given). me and my friend ordered our food and after waiting 30-45 mins still hadn't received it so my friend bought a bliss ball from the cabinet because she was hungry and sick of waiting... she cut it open and a long black hair was stuck in the middle of it (we're both blonde so it was not ours), i took itbackto the lady and she said sorry but didn't seem to think it was a big deal and bluntly said do you want a new one or a refund? i got a new one and satbackdown and noticed the people next to us who had also been waiting a long time had to go up and get their food themselves from the kitchen part as there were no waitresses around to bring it to them. they seemed very annoyed about that..... as i would be too. finally we got our food and after getting half way through i noticed another black hair wrapped around a piece of my cauliflower!! i was very angry about this but remained friendly about it. we told the lady at the counter and she seemed a bit more sorry but then just went and got us a refund and that was the end of that.... i left the cafe still hungry. i will not be returning as i can almost guarantee now something will disappoint me again. many of my friends will hear about his too as it was handled terribly and don't want others to have to experience that when they are trying to go out for a nice lunch. i eat out a lot and comparing two birds eatery to other cafes, i really think they need to work on their customer service and efficiency, it has just gotten poor and embarrassing. i am so sad it has come to this.

after posting this review on their facebook page yesterday, it got 45 likes and 6 comments, no reply from them and the post was removed from their page after about half an hour. so rude of them to not even contact me and apologize and just ignore me when i have done nothing wrong. they have also blocked me and my friend from being able to post on their page which is very childish, unprofessional and not how complaints should be handled at all.

the food was nothing special; me and my friends meals came out luke warm so was dissapointed with that.

most of the staff were fairly nice so that was a redeeming factor.

don't think i'll be comingbackthough

first thing i noticed at this café was the service...it is friendly and genuinely friendly and the staff seem to actually like each other and enjoy what they are doing.
the food on offer was visually great and today just as i arrived they pulled their homemade hot cross buns out of the oven...blissfully warm and served with butter, delicious!
the coffee was fab, the reading material plentiful and interesting, obviously reflecting the café owners interests of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free.
an interesting place that had a great "feel" to it.
i will bebackto asap with friends!
