i used to love this place, the service was friendly, the food good and the atmosphere fun. lately my visits have been the complete opposite, the staff don't smile when they take your order, today's staff were so bad they made me feel like a nuisance for even ordering.
the service is slow, today there were only 4 other people in front of me waiting to order and it took me half an hour to get to the counter. i ordered takeaway from the cabinet because it used to be fast but today i had to wait another ten minutes for them to put a burrito (not heated) in a box. the salad it came with was limp and dry with no dressing or niceties. probably the worst $15 i've spent on food.
they have spruced the place up and got rid of the awful carpet which i appreciate, i just wish they would get rid of the awful attitude that comes with the service.

i've always had a bias view of two birds because of how vegan friendly they are, being vegan myself. i love how they supply vegan alternatives that aren't really on offer in most places - eg, coconut cream, coconut flavored milk, vegan snickers bars..not to mention the vegan meals on offer.
the last few visits over the course of the past 6 months have been disappointing though. the food is nice, but either sickly sweet or bland savoury. it is healthy and you never feel guilty for eating such a good sized portion, but i feel like they could do better in terms of taste, especially for their menu items. (except for the acai bowl, it's really nice and fresh tasting, save for the surprise super chunks of brazil nuts)
the food doesn't bother me too much because i still like to go back for more, but their service is making the place more and more off putting. while they have improved the organization, the staff just seem super unhappy and dull, as if they'd rather be anywhere else. i work as a waitress and i understand that it can get tiresome to play happy all of the time, but it's part of the job if you want to create a good relationship with your customers. you don't have to be a spongebob level of happy robot, but a smile and a bit of enthusiasm goes a long way, even if your customer is being a jerk.

went here with some friends for a birthday lunch. last time i visited was the best ever, but my opinion was ruined today. last time they were very helpful and accommodating where i needed to modify my order due to pregnancy. today i was told they don't allow menu changes as the kitchen was having difficulty with too many changes taking too long. that is fine, but the message was delivered in an unhelpful, snarky and even confrontational manner. and the attitude came from both the manager and the cashier. pregnancy diet modifications aren't really optional! there was literally one item on the whole menu that i could have with one omission. i would've left if i wasn't with 5 others. the lady that delivered my coffee was very smiley and another lady came out when my dish was delivered and offered me a vegan sauce which i could have (a menu modification that i wasn't allowed to request). that was a nice change of pace, but too late as i was put off by the unfriendly counter staff, the first faces you encounter at their establishment. sorry, i'm pregnant, didnt mean to be so difficult...!! the coffee and food was good and prepared well as usual, but with so many options in hamilton, i'd rather a smiling face that is understanding of dietary restrictions any day! i won't be supporting them anymore.

awesome place to hang out with friends. although they were busy it did not feel overwhelming being there as tables are quite spread out. it is much better to sit outside also. my partner and i had the vegan brownie at $8.50 and an apple crumble with yogurt at $12. the desserts were very yummy, even though they were priced on the higher end it is definately worth it as the quality and taste are amazing. coffee was very good thumbs up!

i really enjoyed my lunch here today. great place, good service. i had the protein salad and it was delicious, they had run out of avacado...but topped up my salad with extra chicken so i was happy...the satay sauce on the chicken was yum yum yum. everything was gluten free (which was really exciting)...and i would have loved to try some of the goodies in the cabinet but didn't have time...i will be back to try that cheesecake though!

nice little cafe hidden in the corners of ham east shopping complex.

quiet saturday morning, we ordered their popular smoothie. the green tease me smoothie was amazing. right consistency and the taste of coconut water came through and was not overpowered by the avocado component! and the chocolate peanut butter protein drink is just divine. reminded me a lot of peanut slabs!

caveman (two birds eatery's version of a full breakfast) was alright. very filling. although, i did find the sausage to be abit too oily for me.

would come back for the drinks and the cabinet food next time ( the desserts looked appetising)

had to come back because i see this place as a escape world from work.

so i got the buckwheat chia pancakes with a small version of the brotein smoothie as was told the full sized smoothie is filling.

they had a adequate reading supply including the nz herald.

smoothie came out, this was nice and refreshing, consume it slowly because the taste is great.

pancakes came out, had to wait a wee while but hey didn't mind as it was my day off and was in a rush to go anywhere. normally go for a savoury option come breakfast time, but thought ordering pancakes had to be done (did not regret that decision as they kept me full until 1:30 pm).

i shall be back

hidden away in a corner amongst the shops at clyde shopping centre, it can be very hard to find if you're not looking for it. once you're through the entrance though, you're greeted to an inviting spacious cafe with a great outdoor seating area.

there's a good range of cabinet options as well as a fair menu from which to choose from. the space is very family friendly with toys for kids available.

i had the avocado smash with a poached egg which was delicious. the feta and the pesto balanced the flavours perfectly! coffee was well made, service was good and the atmosphere was nice. overall great experience.

a bit of a hidden gem in terms of location. beautiful little outside area to enjoy your meal.
the rice paper wraps are delicious but are a bit pricey for what you get. service can be slow but the staff are very helpful and friendly.
lovely cakes and sweet treats. just be careful thinking that the sweets are sugar free as the signs have claimed ... they might be refined sugar free but they're not a health food... they are treats.

i have been here about 4 times now because i visit hamilton on a regular basis. the service is the slowest service i have ever come across. it is slow in every way, the girl taking the order was extremely slow and in total it took about 30 mins for a takeaway coffee and smoothie.

this isn't different from my other trips, and i come back because the smoothies and coffees are great. even when i dine in the food is lovely and light.

atmosphere is ok, very old set up, old carpet, not modern despite the cuisine, but nice outside area. very basic. staff ok.

not the most inviting entrance but once your in the cafe its lovely with a great outdoor space and good table options for groups. id heard a lot about their raw slices so took hubby out for lunch. i had a lovely prawn salad served by the cashier so i didn't have to wait too long. it was fresh and very tasty..just a lil too much coriander but that's a personal thing. with a side of beetroot, kale n potato chips... very yummy. hubby got the steak sandwich which he really enjoyed. the snickers slice i feel was over priced (i make raw slices so am aware they cost more) maybe it could be slightly smaller as the heat had totally collapsed it by the time i finished it and maybe 6.50ish. however the coffee... i was very disappointed for rocket coffee it was tasteless and mostly foam not at all a flatwhite.. sorry guys at your standard of cafe the coffee must be good...they did offer to remake but frist impressions stick. i'll definatly go back and hope for a better cup next time.

been here a number of times now.

when i first came, i found the raw treats on the sickly sweet side and could barely finish mine. it was pretty disappointing, especially with all the hype and considering how visually pleasing it looks.
on my second visit i had the bagels and they were pretty good, my friend had a salad (on two occasions) and they weren't too happy.
i've also had the vegetarian burger which i enjoyed, for roughly $16 (from memory) i didn't mind the price, especially as i got kumra fries on the side.

however i went just a few days ago and although the food was great, i found the wait too long and the food on the pricey side. it seems that their raw cheesecakes are a bit smaller from memory (although the one i had was tasty) and the sandwich i had was good but again, a bit too pricey for my liking.

service was good, although waitresses seem very busy so don't really come over often. not a fan of waiting too long.

overall i like this cafe but find it a bit steep.
