thai inspired cuisine always has a special place in my heart (which is in my stomach). the staff are very educated on the menu and are happy to cater to any dietary special requests! the portions are quite satisfying indeed and although its  a small space on17thits a very well used small space!anything on the menu is delicious! ambiance is very refreshing and sufficient lighting great for lunch or dinner with colleagues or a date! i usually order take out since i live 2 doors down :) the noodles are well cooked and amazing bursts of what i can only assume is authentic thai flavors!!

randomly found this restaurant while on17thave and decided to try it out! interior was beautiful, great atmosphere.

ordered pad thai with chicken, the flames, ginger prawns and vegetarian spring rolls. both mains were great, my boyfriend and i thought the two appetizers were very average.

i would recommend ordering the mains only - we plan on returning to try them all! prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get.

i've seen this place during my numerous passes up and down17thavenue over the months and always wondered about what the food tasted like. well yesterday i had the chance to pop by for a quick pad thai which was really good and a papaya salad.

the papaya salad was fresh, crispy, and full of flavour. a little on the wet sauce side but hey we did finish it easily.

the interior was quite mesmerizing where i caught myself staring at the giant montage that you just don't see these days in food offerings around town. the decorative mini cab vehicles were a nice touch.

price was reasonable at $16ish for the two dishes total. the pad thai came in their signature take out box that opened like a flower blossom into a dish, kinda cool.

how can you be a restaurant on17thave and charge the prices that tuk tuk thai charges, and provide tasty food with generous portions? i don't know, but i'm glad they're there! my group and i came here for an early dinner and ordered a large amount of food.  hubs and i shared the satay chicken, chicken spring roll, papaya salad as appys and i thought everything was nicely flavorful and well executed.  i had the drunken basa as my main and didn't realize there was a bit of heat to it so it was a bit challenging to eat (i am very sensitive to spice) but it was very tasty.  my brother's masman beef curry had tender cubes of beef brisket, and the pad thai's were a huge, generous portion with hints of tamarind sauce.  my brother's gf didn't enjoy her moo moo lemon as the citrus taste was too overpowering for her.  overall i think we enjoyed our meals and wouldn't hesitate to come back!

thai and stop em!

thailand… land of spicy food, tuk tuk’s, beautiful beaches, and one particular beach where a young leonardo dicaprio stole the hearts of a generation in “the beach”.

i have tried a lot of thai, from the streets of thailand to the suncor food court with thai express, but it never really hit the mark as a place i would deliberately venture… only to go to when the opa line was too long or flight tickets were cheap, however tuk tuk thai has everything it needs to be my staple “go to” place on17thfor food. good prices, amazing quality, friendly staff, and a unique establishment!

my favourite dish has got to be the shrimp rolls but honestly every dish hit the spot. the pad thai also hit the spot. sean noticed that the spice was a little downplayed from traditional thai but i am sure if you asked the friendly staff they would pull out some of the traditional heat for you. also, it should be noted that the bathrooms are impeccably clean, which is rare on17thave.

next time you are walking down 17th, just walk in and thai something, thai anything! pick something random off the menu and give it a shot! all these little dishes are meant to share and be enjoyed! or just pop in to use the washrooms.

great new thai joint on17thave! the interior is filled with memoirs of thailand and have a cute tuk tuk fridge. i tried the shrimp pad thai and chicken green curry and both were fantastic- flavourful and authentic, bringing me back to thailand. their thai iced tea is a must try as well. very smooth and creamy. its the best thai food i've had in calgary for a great price!

tuk tuk thai is a delicious endeavour that emphasizes the traditional tastes of thailand. located on17thave, the interior is actually set up pretty well for seating, in spite of the size of the storefront. the service was quick and friendly, and the food was fantastic as well. i ordered the pad thai and chicken satay. the chicken was cooked to a tender texture, and i found the satay sauce to go quite well with the consistency of the meat. the pad thai was well done, with a burst of flavour in every bite, and the noodles cooked to a nice degree, creating a balanced meal. one piece of personal preference was that i felt it was only slightly on the dry side after finishing the dish, and a little more sauce might help remedy that. the condensed milk roti is a must to finish off with, served warm and fresh with just the right amount of condensed milk. the thai tea is authentic and flavourful as well, mixing the strong taste of traditional tea with the sweetness of condensed milk. overall though, tuk tuk thai is definitely a great option to grab food on the go, or pop by for a quick meal!

if you’re a frequent visitor to17thave like i am, it is most likely that you have noticed a new member of the restaurant community of17thave. there has been a variety of restaurants creating huge competition among the businesses. filled with pizza and wine, there isn’t as much authentic asian foods on that avenue. tuk tuk thai is new to the street and is turning 3 months old. they may be newly opened but they have an extensive history in the restaurant industry- specifically in thai cuisine.

a fun unique spot on17thave that's hidden behind the patios the restaurants have. not your typical restaurant as it's like a fast food style where you order food at the counter and bring it to a seat. they do have limited seating so it's good to bring it to eat it elsewhere during prime hours. their food is good. it's been one of the better pad thais i've had in calgary. the packaging is unique and cute so bonus points for that. staff and service is friendly as well.

what a fun looking quick stop joint. if u find yourself along17thave you have to try their fried tofu!!! wow... just wow. amazing flavour of mild curry. an amazing little snack as walk around or as an alternative. also tried their pad tai which was pretty bland, but not horrible to any extent. what wasn't too bad was the green curry dish which i had the coconut rice with. both dishes seem to be missing something. but i would come back here just to try out what else they have to offer for those quick snacks. that fried tofu was impressive.. so much so that i gobbled it down before i could take a picture 😣
swing by an try it out, you refer the quick stop.
