tucker's is a trendy restaurant concept that fools people by cleverly marketing the notion they are serving "onion burgers". in reality, they sell burgers with onions on top. a real onion burger, such as those found in el reno, have onions pressed into and not thrown on top of the meat. the authentic process allows both to be cooked together simultaneously, which changes the flavor profile, texture and moisture content of the meat. proclaiming it an onion burger is misleading and is akin to calling a sparkling wine from gotebo champagne. this is just a burger and in a world full of burgers, tucker's fails.

the most important component of a burger is the meat that is used. it should be fresh and flavorful. tucker's meat is of low quality and seems to be a leaner ground beef product. this meat to fat ratio results in a burger that quickly drys out and is lacking in flavor. on two separate occasions, i have unfortunately encountered chunks of unchewable gristle in the patty and my burgers are often times overcooked to the point i have been unable to finish them.

meat should also be proportionate to the bun. the tucker's bun is too thick both in size and density. this results in an unbalanced sandwich that one has to struggle through. even the double "onion burger" leaves one with a mouth full of dry bread that has no business housing a burger and which no amount of condiments can save.

in addition to the burger, there are significant issues with the preparation, consistency and flavor of their fries and lemonade among other things. the price they charge for the products they serve is a shame, especially in light of quality.

in the end, i have eaten at two of the locations numerous times in the past few years. i have desperately wanted to have a positive dining experience, as they are conveniently located near my home and office. eachtimei have eaten there, i have come away disappointed and regret allowing them yet another chance to redeem themselves by finally serve me a halfway decent burger.

that monster of a burger is called the “mother tucker”. this burger is not a “challenge” size food, but is large for sure. coming with three large patties with grilled onions and optional threes slices of cheese, the thing is beastly. the firsttimei visited i ordered a double with cheese, fries, and a

great burgers. i tried tucker's last week . while i enjoy my food spicy, i was warned about the jalapenos but i figured i could handle it since i often eat them. wooweee, it was on fire. nexttimei will opt for 1/2 an order of peppers. i got the smallest burger, with cheese, and raw onions instead of grilled, fries and a cup of lemonade. it was more than enough food. everything was delicious. the bun is superb, and just the perfect wrap for the meat. the lemonade is homemade. i did go at an offtimeso not too much of a wait. will definitely be back.

awsome burgers. both locations are great. cheese melting into the onions. yum. buns sre local. awsome. have eaten onion burgers several places and these are worth the trip. i forgo the fries as just not a fry person. go hungry. i got the double the firsttimeand had to take half home. the buns are locally made and worth it. they hold up well to the burger. i usually go to the classen location as it is closer ut went to the okc location tonight and either one is great.

terrible. the firsttimei went there i ordered just the regular onion burger, i thought it was average, nothing special. my husband wanted to try it so i took him thinking i would give the place another chance and it turned out to be worse the secondtimearound. the onions on the burgers were burnt, the meat was very bland and the bun was so greasy it kept falling apart. overall it tasted like a big burnt greasy mess. i will not be going back there again. if you want a good onion burger, go to little mikes because they have the best onion burgers i have ever tasted in oklahoma!

fast:clean:fresh:delicious. i went for a late lunch for my first tucker's burger and it was a great experience in every way. impeccably clean, nice old school maltshop atmosphere. ordered a single with cheese with everything, side of fries and a strawberry limeade. i grew up on a ranch, so i know what fresh beef tastes like, and it was excellent. i know some neg tucker's for this, but, personally, i prefer the grilled onions mounded on top of the beef, rather than smashed into the beef like some okie onion-burgers (they are tasty too, i just prefer them on top)

food was out at my table in 5 minutes, piping hot and extremely fresh. the fries were just perfectly crispy and homestyle, the burger was perfect, including a very nice, soft, fresh bun that actually tasted like, shockingly, bread!!!

cook even came out to table and asked us how the food was. super nice people, very delicious burger and i'll be back everytimei get a craving for a homemade-tasting, old school delicious onion burger. loved it!

truely the king of burgers in okc!. in my brief stay in oklahoma city i manage to visit an array of places that included restaurants, bars, cantinas and fast food joints. the one place that stuck out the most was tucker's onion burgers. i stopped by once briefly to get some fries which were in my opinion average. on my next visit there i dragged my sister to watch me take down this mighty "mother tucker" burger lol anyways from thetimewe walked in they had my sister from the get go with the counter guy yelling, "i need one hot mother tucker!" and the crew in the back screamed "oh shut your dirty mouth!" classic! i manage to take this "hot mother tucker" down and was still hungry enough to order another one and finish it. that's when the told me about their challenge they were still in the process of creating. i hope by thetimei make my next visit to okc, they have this challenge up so i can take it down too! btw my sis loved this place and she lives 5 minutes away!

yum!!. i have been here several times and never disappointed. the firsttimei had the burger and it was great. nexttimei had the turkey burger and i had to double check to make sure that it was turkey rather than beef; it was that good. i have had all three flavors of shakes and they are all great. the staff is friendly and helpful. i tend to go in the evening when seating is not a problem but sometimes parking is tight.

will be back. i've gone to tucker's a few times now and i can say the burgers are always great and love the fries! save room for a malt or chocolate shake, they make them by hand and are delicious! the only downfall is you can't call in your order ahead oftimebecause they don't take orders over the phone. luckily the wait in line is worth it.

great juicy burger. great burger. very juicy! each burger is made to your specifications. i like that the sauted onions are sliced really thin. they get their buns from prairie thunder bakery and they are wonderful! the fries are good and one order is large enough to feed 2-3 people easily. a drink is $1.99 - keep the plastic cup and bring it back nexttimeand your drink is 99 cents and 50 cents of that is donated to one of the local metro schools. tuckers is owned by the same group that owns cheever's. tuckers is located on the corner of 23rd & hudson diagonally across the street from cheevers. tuckers is on south side of street on nw 23rd at hudson - cheevers is off north side of nw 23rd on hudson.

good stuff. let me tell you this, your first bite will be the best bite. it is a delicious burger but after a while the generous quantity of onions begins to distract from the over all experience. nexttimei'll request half the onions and i'll enjoy it more.

decent, clean, but could be better.. the wife and i decided to give tucker's a try. was happy with the fries and decor. my burger was pretty decent, but shouldn't have put the jalepenos on it. nexttimei think i'll go with just mustard. as some other people have said, the wife's burger wasn't up to par. the onions were tough and made it impossible to bite through.

cook em down a bit more, and leave off any weird toppings and you'll be happy.
