the real story. as a tucci's regular i can tell you first hand that the food is delicious yet slightly over priced, the reason you pay more is not for the quality of the food, but the ambiance and over all atmosphere of the evening, with the black and white checkered tables, dim red lights, and small booths the restaurant gives you a close interaction with who ever you are sharing your meal. keep in mind it is a small space and they do not take reservations, so dont get upset if you have to wait 15-20 minutes for a table, it is well worth it. the waiters are trained well and as in any fine dining restaurant should, do not pester you and only come when needed. this is not a mcdonalds if you want a quick and easy meal your welcome to go up the street. if there are no tables available i suggest eating at the bar, its just as nice and the bartender is very funny. all of my experiences with tucci's have been well, i recommend there california pie its my favorite.

and to comment on the fellow bellow who said he use to work there, i heard from a little birdy you yourself werent the best employee yourself maybe you should take a good look in the mirror before pointing the finger

and to finish i would just like to say if you are to fat to sit in a regualr booth and need to take up an entire table, there is a problem. not only are you detrimental to yourself, society, but you are also taking money away from a server that could have 4 customers rather than 1 or 2, and when your making $2.15 and hour thats a big deal

do food is ok, i use to work at tucci's be careful what you order. the food is not handled with care. i've seen food dropped and then sent to patrents. management there is to intoxicated to make valid decision. to say the least the owner is a out of control business women who runs her store like a garage sale.

good food, pricey wine. we dine here a couple times a year.
it's an established original restaurant with a good track record.
the food is consistently good and the service is attentive.

however, over the years, there are two things that always bothered me about tucci's:
1. the price-per-glass of wine, and;
2. the low, dark lighting.

tucci's rivals the per-glass pricing of restaurants that offer more variety and higher quality selections.
for example, the kim crawford chardonnay we had costs us $7 a glass.
retail, a bottle of kc would be about $17.00, tops.
we had three glasses (total $21.00), which certainly did not drain a full bottle.
come on, tucci's - give us a break.
we know you make a big profit from wine so how about cutting us some slack?
even $6 per glass would help.
of course, the glass of super tuscan at $10 was about par with other restaurants.

as for the dark lighting, it is always difficult to read the menu in such conditions.
perhaps using larger font on the menu or attaching little led book lights to the menu would help.

otherwise, the food is always good.
we had the gorgonzola pizza and eggplant parmigiana - both were fantastic!

i'm love with this place!. this was absolutely the most fabulous place!!!! the food was exquisite (the crust was perfectly crunchy, the sauce was sweet, and the toppings were perfectly cooked), it was amazing with candle light and a great music selection (rat pack), and was an all around great place. their desert was remarkable as well! i had the cheese cake with raspberry sauce. nothing that good had ever touched my tongue!

the atmosphere is romantic and charming. ken helped me and my wife and he made are night a night we will never forget. their food is wonderful and full of flavor. my wife is on a gluten free diet and ken made a custome dish for my wife. they go the extra mile to please their customers. we will defiantly go again and recommend that anyone who loves good food and a good time to go to tucci's.

this is a mixed bag of results. the service we received wad absolutely unacceptable. he cared more for the hostess than any of his tables. worst service ever. his name was les. the food was mixed as well. we had the lasagna and it was very good. the chicken fettucine was way sub par. canned chicken? yuck! just be warned.

quiet, intimate cafe - great for a serious business lunch or as part of a romantic evening. service is not quick (see opening sentence). we enjoy the calzone and the pasta specials.

romantic and cozy. i like this place and i am shocked by some of these negative reviews. i have eaten here 6-8 times and never had a problem. the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. i have eaten here twice for my anniversary and would do it again. the place is small but clean. the bathroom is clean. the patio is nice. if you are expecting something cheap, then don't go to cherry street.
it is red and romantic.
eat the lemon piccata chicken - it is dreamy.

in the old days..... 10+ years ago tucci's was great, it had taken over the spot formerly known as the cherry street bakery (sad they closed). being 'new' tucci's had great meals, great prices, and didn't charge several appendages for wine. i know several former fans who quit going due to tucci's exhorbitant increase in wine and food prices (esp the tiramisu) with a decrease in quality. we all found other places where we could see what we were eating, could buy a bottle of wine for tucci's single glass, and came away with change.....

not impressed. extremely slow service, hot salad, toughest ravioli known to man and their foccacia bread is actually small crusting bread. peach bellini was second class to bartles and james and cost 7 dollars. very disappointed sine it had high like votes.

way over priced. my husband took me there for my birthday. it was the first time that i have eaten there. the menu is very limited and very expensive. the server was very quiet and barely talked. he didn't make any recommendations or tried to even talk to us. the food was good, but for that price i would rather go to zio's or olive garden.
i do love the atmosphere. it is very nice. lots of little kids out on the patio. but i doubt that i will ever go back.
