tucci's cafe italia

pleasantly surprised. took my husband there the other night upon recommendation of friends. we tried the pizza and penne l'arriabata. both were fantastic!!! i will return.

so so. i was very disappointed in tucci's. the food was tasty, but the staff wasn't very helpful. also, the ambiance in the room leaves a lot to be desired. the fact that the waiters had to walk around the entire room in a circle in order to reach a specific table was very inefficient.

great service. food was very good too. very cute establishment.

we have been going to tuccis for yrs. it's one of our favorite patio dining restaurants. highly reccomend it!

while the food may be great, when they get your food right, prepare for a wait. they bread is good and the food, again, is awesome, but it just seems like they hire people that get fired from other restaurants.

liked it. my first time here. had the chicken fetticini. it was pretty good although i have had better cuts of chicken in the past. but it was good. server was excellent. bread was excellent. i would go again and try something new. i do recommend it however.

the daily special is always eggplant parmesan.

last meal of the year. my boyfriend and i came in on new years eve and were immediately seated. we had stuffed mushooms for a starter (so tasty) he ordered the osso bucco and i had the cappellini di mare.

both dishes were absolutely amazing. i was a little jealous of the osso bucco to be honest. the meat was so tender it fell off the bone. the cappellini was buttery and the shrimp was delicious. aside from the food being amazing our waiter ( i believe his name was chad) was awesome. he was fast and really enjoyable to talk to. he even went behind the bar and made my martini himself, which if i might add was strong and well mixed with a great peach flavor. it was our first time to visit tucci's and the chef (i want to say his name was curt...maybe he was a manager) came and visited the table. everyone was so friendly. the restaurant had a nice feel to it. i can't really describe it in another way but we both left smiling. we will both definitely be spreading good words and will also be coming back. thanks for an awesome last meal of 2011, tucci's. well done.

ossobucco. oh my god. amazing.

surprisingly, servers in new york don't take sh** from people and also don't act like a complete slave, which is exactly how the servers are at tucci's. if you're nice to your server, usually you'll have great food, service, and a great experience. trust me, i've been serving for 8 years. when a table is genuinely sweet to me, i take extra care in making sure their food is great and their service is phenomenal.

fun and relaxing!. went to tucci's 2 weeks ago, the food was good and the service was exceptional. i believe our server's name was jake or jacob. he recommended a perfect wine to pair with my meal. i'm not usually a fan of white wine, but since he recommended a white wine (sorry terrible at remembering wine names) to go with my fish i gave it a try and didn't regret it! plus the lemonatta salad that came with our meal was delicious! overall, a great experience. loved the atmosphere and look forward to returning with such a friendly fun waiter

very pleased. i can't believe i have never been here and i can't believe these bad reviews! our server paul, despite the fact that he was running his little tush off, took such good care of us! i would say that the boys serving all seemed very busy so it might not be a bad idea to have another server, but then again they were very content running around and seemed to be having fun so maybe that is their style? the food is soo good! i had chicken scallopini and i could not have enjoyed it more! the bread was warm and soft and delicious! that lemonwhatever salad was amazing!!! we had the triple chocolate cake after and i simply can not wait to eat that again! this is my new favorite place to eat! i will be back and i feel sorry for you people who are complaining on here you all must be very hard to please because i could not disagree more! so good! :)

overpriced and over-rated. my wife, son and i decided to visit this restaurant because it appeared to have the potential for a pleasant experience on the patio. first, our order came out wrong and the portion that was right was cold. when the rest of our order finally arrived, it was medicore. we ask the server if the the restaurant was going to adjust the ticket for the inconvience and the mistake on the order and we were informed that they do not do that. we ask for the manager and the server said that the manager was tending bar and could not leave. he overed us another glass of wine, which we neither needed or wanted. we went inside to the bar and after a visit with the manager, the manager (chad) adjusted the check. when we let the server know that we do not have to leave a tip, he informed us that he would just add to our card anyway. when we got home and checked our bank account online, the server had done just that. i called the restaurant and spoke to chad who assured me that he would call me after closing and straighten out the charge.

will we go back there, not unless we know that there have been major improvements to attitude and food quality. way over priced for such a disappointing experience for my birthday, no less.

went for our anniversary. yes it's small, cozy, pretentious. it's cherry street... i liked it. the food is good and the atmosphere is romantic. yes it's overpriced but you are paying for location and atmosphere too. i will say, my wife wasn't impressed with the food.

the worst service and food will never go back ,bar tender and waiter were terrible, the most bad place i have ever been. will never go back, hate it.

love love the food!! the bartender (ken) was very helpful w/ making a good decision on our wine!! enjoyed my time there, chad made the night perfect!! we plan on going again !!
