parking is a bit tricky. delicious food. they must have taken care of the "liquid" license issue between my visit and the last review. brush up on your italian beforehand or you might have some trouble reading the menu. this is my new favoriteplaceto eat.

this is theplacefor italian in charleston!. i came here with nine other girls for my sister's bachelorette party - we could not have asked for a more perfect night. ken came out immediately to congratulate the bride and offer suggestions for the meal. we were wined and dined and felt so special the whole night. not only was the entire staff so friendly, the food was outstanding to say the very least. we were floored at every dish that came out. everything about our night was more than we could have asked for. thank you ken and staff! i cannot wait to come back!!

can't say enough good things. my wife and i went here on a saturday night. our server was adam and he was great. very nice and helpful. he took the time to go over each menu item and make recommendations based on what we told him we like. the food was amazing, i don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. the noise issue others have mentioned is valid. it is a very cute and cozy littleplacebut quiet it is not. the db reader on my iphone said between 85-90 dbs during dinner (the equievilant of a factory floor). the other issue is the cost. yes the food is amazing but it is pricey. we had a medium appetizer, each had an entree and split a dessert. we spent $100. we did not order alcohol. so...if $100+ on dinner is not a problem for you, or if you're looking for something special i would highly recommend lucca. we loved it and will be back.

best in show. after three visits, lucca isnow confirmed as our most favorite in charleston, which is saying a lot in this restaurant-crazy town. lovingly prepared food that will bring tears of joy to your eyes, attentive service, generally with chef vedrinski in visible attendance, and a lively warm atmosphere in a rapidly revitalizing part of the peninsula. what's not to like? the family night dinner is over the top: successive bowls and platters of the most succulent menu items, and you don't have to decide----just enjoy. theplaceis habit forming.

my favorite charleston restaurant. hands down the very best food in charleston, conceived and prepared with passion and care. yes, theplaceis busy-- because it's great! i love "family style" night (currently monday, i believe): you just sit down and they start bringing delicious surprises. we've never had to join people we didn't know, always had our own table. we go early to avoid the crush. wednesday night seems to be the quietest. this is a restaurant worthy of new york or the little neighborhoods of italy and france.

good food. poor service.. food was good. very tasty. wine was good. skimpy on bread... they start you with 2 small pieces and we had to keep asking for more. they did not have record of our reservation but after describing our conversation with the bartender who made the reservation... he suddenly remembered and sat us willingly. very small and very loud! parking difficult. not a goodplacefor a quiet date night or special occasion. service was poor.

awful!. i would give this zero stars if that were an option. we went to this restaurant to celebrate my 40th birthday on friday, january 15th. it was horrible. the server was rude and borderline obnoxious. we were seated at a "family style" table which means nothing but that you are seated with a bunch of people you don't know. theplaceis tiny. the servers were bumping into tables and people. you can't move without being on top of other diners. and it is horribly loud. the neighborhood is dangerous and i'd be hesitant for anyone to walk alone. the food was fine but just fine. when i asked the server for recommendations he basically refused to answer. i've literally never been actually offended by a server. he was offensive, very snobby and abrupt. the menu is limited and very upscale. our tab for 3 people was 300 bucks. after just under an hour and a half we were asked to move tables because they wanted to seat someone at our table. this was actually after we complained to the owner that our server was obviously trying to get us out of there. my friend walked over to the owner to complain and to reiterate that we were celebrating my birthday, but he (the owner) didn't even bother to walk the four feet to our table to so much as say sorry. don't go. huge waste of money. oh and no liquor license.
