i love this place!. this review is about a year late, but better late than never. i've been three times. the second time i went, a friend and i were debating over which entrée to split. the owner/chef overheard us and offered to make us half portions of both entrees. that was so kind of him and he certainly didn't have to, but it was definitely something i haven't forgotten. i also like the way ypu cam choose appetizers, because i love sampling a little bit of everything. they havegreatdesserts. i'll be back.

i have eaten @ lucca 3 times and it has been great. the restaurant is small and a bit loud, but that is where the criticism ends....the food and service have been fantastic on all three visits. the duck is incredible, we had the featured oysters and ordered 6 more they were so good.greatplace, reasonable prices, just off king st.

multa benne!. this chef & staff can cook italian - trust me. antipasta selection is delightful - don't pass up the cauliflower puree with poached egg - wow! housemade pastas and sauces are right on the money.greatlittle trattoria - will always go there on my returns to charleston.

good food terrible service. we tried to go on a friday and made a reservation and they refused to honor our reservation and told us to sit at the bar even though we specifically requested a table. on top of that they were rude.

nice surprise. i've been a long time fan of ai di la in west ashley and wild olive is my other favorite italian joint in town. however, a friend of mine has been raving for years about lucca and i finally stiff armed ai and the olive and checked out lucca. i was not disappointed. the food was great. i especially enjoyed the way you can mix and match cheese, meats and veggies for your apps and the entrees were awesome. the veal was a big hit with our dinner party. service wasgreatand the wine selections were very enjoyable. the staff really seemed to know their italian and their wine list. i'd recommend a reservation though. even with our reservation, we had to wait for some time for the table. lucca is small too so expect a cozier environment for your dining experience.

excellent food. one of my favorite spots in town. i will agree with other posts that it can get a bit loud on a fri or sat night (somewhat small, but beautifully furnished, interior). but the food is tremendous, this is one of the best chefs in town.greatfor a date night. wine list is excellent.

it's way too noisey to the point that you can't enjoy the evening. there are way too manygreatresturants on charleston to put up up with this. we were put at a table with 6 other people and we were a table of 4. inexecusable and miserable. also they don't have a liquid liscense. pick somewhere else for a more enjoyable time.
