phone service. i love this restaurant, but the lady on the phone was not absolutely rude but just a bit of a turn-off. yeah it's a job, but at least fake that you like it. she didn't even say your welcome, or goodbye...just a mere hang-up, i had tears in my eyes because of it, crying myself to sleep. yeah i get some peoples voices are just like that but lighten up! all-in-all i love the food and the dining-in staff is amazing.

lacking phone etiquette. i have no complaints about the quality of the food, timeliness, or cleanliness of the restaurant. however, the only thing that leaves me feeling uneasy is the abrasive manner of the lady who always seems to answer the phone when i order take out. she speaks very fast and sometimes unclear, and becomes very offended when you ask her to repeat herself. it always feels like she is in a race with the clock to get you off the phone and has even hung up on me several times before i was done speaking with her. she is generally all around rude, and i'm sure she has deterred many customers before.

better than takeout. the food here is good! the veggies are fresh and never overcooked, which seems to be a sign of high overall quality. i really like the way that they fry their tofu, just a light skin of flour(?) and soft, puffy interior. i do feel like they put too much sauce on everything, which is probably why some people complain that it is salty. do what i do, ask for light sauce, they don't mind.

i don't get the hype. a friend strongly and enthusiastically recommended this restaurant to me and so when my other friend from out of town came to visit i brought her there expecting a unique and wonderful dining experience. i was so embarrassed by the low quality food we received. i had the grilled eel over rice and it was seasoned all wrong, and my friend's entree was overly salty. i have a take-out place by my house in tonawanda that blows this place out of the water. also the wait staff was inattentive and somewhat rude to us, so we will not be going back. i don't know what all the hype is about, but i was not impressed at all.

i luv luv luv this place. it's one of my fav places to eat! i have enjoyed all the food i have tried. the service is fast and pleasant and the food is hot n tasty lol. i even had my 25th birthday dinner here with my fave waiter alan serving my group :-) lunch special is awesome. this is a.great.place to go with the girls, a casual date, or lunch for a party of 1

good stuff!. i eat lunch here at least 3 times per week. try the spicy tuna roll - it's my favorite :) the lunch special is under $10 and you get 2 rolls and soup or salad!!

excellent. this place has incredibly good food and atmosphere. staff is great and food is delicious. all my friends can agree on tokyo shanghai. parking accross the street at the hospital is without hassle and free if its late at night. the tempura, and tofu dishes are amazing.

okay so the service here was awesome and he was very helpful at helping me with the food selections. he recommended young chow fried rice which went really good with my favorite dish general tso chicken, i cannot wait to make another visit for their delicious food.

awful service. i always give this place chances because the food is good but the service is awful. people sat down 10 minutes after us and got their appetizers before we did. we got soup as one of them when you know all they have to do is spoon it out from a read made pot. our sushi entrees came out before the soup salad and eggroll that we ordered. noticed that other diners were in either their service or their food. glad we didn't have somewhere to be on a time crunch because we were waiting 30 minutes before the waiter came by with food. had to flag him down and let him know we still had nothing. looks like i will stick to the take out.

the waiter took forever to take our order and then the sushi was extremely slow in getting to our table. my fried rice came quickly however and looked like that one might get at a mall food court. each persons meals came several minutes apart and so we were finishing at different times. the sushi was poorly packed and not very decorative. that being said it was still pretty tasty. although i have had better.

great food and service!. i had been searching for a good (vegan) sesame tofu dish in buffalo and i found it here! love the food. the service has always been pleasant and fast. the prices are great. i always leave satisfied.

the temperature of all the fish served made everyone at the table question how safe it was for consumption, and the rice seemed looked and tasted like the white rice served with chinese take-out rather than carefully prepared and seasoned sushi rice. it did not stick together well, resulting in unevenly rolled maki and hard to eat nigiri.

good. having grown up in nyc i have high expectations for chinese food. this place is decent. the japanese food is the best thing to order. not the best sushi but good none the less. their chinese is typical buffalo take out however it seems to be of a higher quality. the general tso's is disappointing because its usually dried out and stringy pieces of meat. other dihes seem to be good. i don't know why they serve thai but they need to leave it alone, the worst thai i've had hands down, take it off the menu!

worst thai food ever. but i probably should have guessed that since it's primarily a chinese food restaurant. needless to say, stay away from the thai entrees. shame on you, tokyo shanghai, if you're going to have limited thai options, you should at least do them well.
