tokyo ii japanese seafood and steakhouse

although it was difficult to understand our waiter, i greatly enjoyed my time at tokyo 2. i thought the prices were very reasonable for the amount offoodthat i received, as well as the taste of the food. my boyfriend and i ate there for a late dinner on a monday evening and both ordered the chicken entrees. the chicken was perfectly prepared and to our delight we also found a few pieces of shrimp in each of our dishes. it was presented beautifully, the order of the meal was perfect. i really enjoyed the atmosphere as well. i would love to dine there again!

never again!!. we went to tokyo ii this evening for the first and last time. we had a reservation for 6:00 p.m. and were finally seated at 7:10 p.m. while waiting at the bar we attempted to get drinks. we stood there for almost 20 minutes before someone took our order. another customer that was also waiting walked away in frustration. two people from our party actually left the restaurant and walked out.

when we were finally seated it took quite awhile before anyone even came to get our drink order. when we finally placed our drink order we waited another 15 minutes before our drinks arrived and then they weren't even all correct, so we had to send some of them back.

we placed ourfoodorder and were told that they were giving us free edamame because we had to wait so long. nice, but after waiting now 90 minutes past our reservation to get any kind of actual service a $2.00 appetizer hardly made up for it.

the hibachi chef was wonderful and thefoodwas actually quite good. he was definitely the best part of the experience.

the women's bathroom had no toilet paper in any of the stalls and there were no paper towels.

when our bills finally arrived, several people in our party were charged for items they didn't even order and the server tried to tell us we did!

we would absolutely never go to this restaurant again, which is unfortunate because thefoodwas really quite good. the service was the worst we have ever experienced and we are people who dine out pretty frequently.

take our advice and skip this restaurant. drive the extra 15 minutes and go to kyoto if you are looking for a hibachi experience!

v day dinner. thefoodwas lovely and the service was very good and quick our serve mi was very funny and the portion were nice it made a fat person happy

definitely go. been there twice had a great time and greatfoodboth times, sushi and cooked, will definitely be back.

my favorite restaurant,would come back tokyo 2,nice decor and food!much better service than before!

horrible customer service - average food. went to this place on nye 2011. had a hankering for some sashimi.

you think in this day and age that japanese people running a place like this would know the difference between nigiri and sashimi. i ordered about $25 worth of sashimi - waited about 35 minutes at the bar for them to prepare it (no big deal.)

i get home and there were 3 pieces missing and what was there were thinly sliced fish draped over rice. not even the types of fish i ordered... really?!?!

i called and it seemed that they put the person who speaks the least english on the phone to confuse me...(they have plenty of english speaking young employees there.)

after another half hour on the phone - they said they would refund me some of the money for the missing pieces (not adequate since what i got was not close to what i ordered) and then said they would prepare the correct meal for me at no charge the following week. i was satisfied with that.

called the next week and they had absolutely no idea what i was talking about - after 15 minutes i refreshed their memories - they offered me $6 in credit for my order. i said ya know what...im done with this place. see ya on yelp and urban spoon.

i work in the restaurant business and know what it means to have happy customers...if you mess up, you make it right. seriously though, japanese that dont know the difference between sushi, sashimi, and nigiri? really?

to top it off...i was watching the hibatchi chefs while i was waiting for myfoodand they were screwing up left and right...dropping stuff and messing up their routine. id be heated if i paid to sit and watch an amateur butcher an artform like that....

great food!. i've eaten at a few hibachi's in western new york and have to say this is a gem. great food, lively atmosphere, but above all, thefoodwas great. this is a must try. can't wait to go again.

sushi was fresh, entertainment was great! for the amount offoodyou get with the hibachi dinners the prices are not as expensive as some other places. i recommend the filet and shrimp :)

wrm. service was a bit slow the first week, but thefoodwas very good and fresh. i think if they just work on the staff a bit they have a winner! i will definitely be back.

would go back. once seated, the server introduced themselves right away, and was very thorough in going over the drink options. went for hibachi, and while it took a while for the chef to arrive, we didn't necessarily mind waiting, and the server was extremely apologetic about it. once he did arrive, he was friendly and outgoing and thefoodwas delicious.

dinner didnt start well with the fact we sat at our table for 20 minutes and watched servers yawn and basically avoid us, so we had to get the manager to get us a server. our server personally was very nice and thefoodtasted great, so it ended well. we took care of our server, but it would be nice if the staff didn't assume we would be horrible customers.

the service was fantastic! thefoodwas delicious, and our chef was amazing!!! we completely enjoyed our dining experience. i would recommend it to a friend, and go again!!!

amazing hibachi. thefoodwas absolutely delicious and the cooks are great entertainers. went not knowing what to expect and ended up having a great dinner and a lot of laughs. my friend and i both got filet mignon and chicken. we could not have been more satisfied. the dinner was decently priced seeing that it was filet (about $23) but it included soup, salad, noodles or fried rice, and vegetables. all in all, it was a greatly enjoyable experience that i will be living again in the very near future.
