charming, hip and un-hurried. we celebrated our family's 'guys of december birthdays' and had a wonderful meal with good service. we had three generations and there was something for everyone, including a children's menu. no one tried the fish specials, though they sounded great. we had a variety of tapas to start and i recommend the stuffed mushrooms and the pulledporkon crostini. for the main courses we hadporktenderloin, crab cakes, steak, grilled cheese panini and chicken strips with a variety of sides. dessert was limited, but delicious (nothing chocolate). we were seated by the window and could watch morgantown go by, mostly in cars, but it was nice. the bar along the wall, the tin ceiling and wait staff in long aprons and bow-ties all added to a nice urban feeling. it was more expensive than just two '$$', i'd give it at least three '$$$", but well worth it.

trying too hard. went to tin 202 for dinner the tuesday before thanksgiving. it was *okay*. they're trying too hard. bruchetta was disappointing...sliced baguette (slightly warmed) with cold fresh tomatoes (with a speck of basil) topping the slices. the martini was perfect, but small. it came, though, after my entree arrived. i had the crab cake entree. i thought the mashed potatoes tasted like instant with some red skins thrown in. asparagus was good. crabcakes were meh--seemed like canned crab instead of lump crab. dinner mate had theporkloin...a bit dry, and the mushroom sauce was overly garlicky. i felt rushed. waiter was a bit too chatty and overly friendly. loud. but i'd try it again.

great 1st experience. my co-workers and myself frequent many of the eateries in and around high street. we were super excited to get to try out tin 202. the atmosphere was lovely--very classy and elegant, yet still fun. we were graciously greeted by partial owner, christopher evans. he ensured that everything during our lunch visit was satisfactory, if not, more than that. the service was very great, even though it was clear the server was a tad nervous.

so many different items on the menu made deciding what to order particularly hard--i don't know if the type of cuisine served can be narrowed into a singular "type." i ended up ordering the virginia pulled pork--which i was a little skeptical about because i am not a fan of pulledporkthat utilizes a vinegar base. but it turned out to be fabulous--theporkhad a good moisture to it and the sauce was not overpowering--great combination. the kettle chips that accompanied the sandwich were also delicious!

my co-workers each ordered a different dish--one ordered the corn chowder soup, another the chicken gyro, and another the pastrami panini. everyone loved the lunch that they ordered. the side salads varieties were a hit. and the fact that you have a lunch place that serves fabulous espresso didn't hurt either.

we will definitely be adding tin 202 to the regular list of restaurants that we frequent. definitely a hidden gem! must try!
