the blackberry basil fizz was the bomb, and the old fashioned was perfect.
the edamame hummus and tiny crab cakes were delightful while the entrees (ahi tuna & vegetarian cauliflower steak) were delicious.
afterwards: the 'best cappuccino i've ever had'.
a little disappointed in the limited dessert options, but that's the only downside.

only about 30% of the tables had patrons yet the hostess told me i would have to wait at least one and a half hours for a table. i sat at the bar for two hours, had a few beers and appetizers. my scallop ceviche was watery and did not come close to resembling the pic provided on here. after two hours the tables remained empty!!! this behavior by the hostess annoyed me and i will never return! i walked down to iron horse for a wonderful meal, i suggest you do the same.

disappointed. my husband and i were excited to try tin 202. with morgantown's continuous turnover of upscale restaurants, we were hoping we had found a new place to dine. while the service was great and the decor was tastefully done, we can't say the same for the food. my husband's lamb chops were over cooked. for the price you pay, there is little imagination involved in the dishes. the atmosphere was stuffy and pretentious. sorry, tin 202 but we won't be back.

charming, hip and un-hurried. we celebrated our family's 'guys of december birthdays' and had a wonderful meal with good service. we had three generations and there was something for everyone, including a children's menu. no one tried the fish specials, though they sounded great. we had a variety of tapas to start and i recommend the stuffed mushrooms and the pulled pork on crostini. for the main courses we had pork tenderloin, crab cakes, steak, grilled cheese panini and chicken strips with a variety of sides. dessert was limited, but delicious (nothing chocolate). we were seated by the window and could watch morgantown go by, mostly in cars, but it was nice. the bar along the wall, the tin ceiling and wait staff in long aprons and bow-ties all added to a nice urban feeling. it was more expensive than just two '$$', i'd give it at least three '$$$", but well worth it.

at first glance, as i walked through the beautiful crystal glass door, i was impressed with the refurbished building which once was the great wall chinese place. the redone walls, bar and the refinished tin ceiling (hence the name, tin 202) were a warming welcome to what became the most disappointing visit to a new, and potentially noteworthy atmosphere. as we sat at the bar to await the rest of our party's arrival, we were warmly greeted by at least 3 bartenders (none of which seemed to fill the pint to anywhere near the top, if those brandy snifters in which they were serving the beer were anywhere near an actual pint). i am not sure if he was the head bartender, or what, but whoever he was, had answered a question concerning allergies, and replied with "is that a dietary restriction, or do you just not like them?" either way, does it matter? i feel that this was insulting and presented in a condescending manner. i wanted to ask him if he needed those thick, black-framed glasses, or if he just liked wearing them.... anywho...at the piont of our friend's arrival, we were finishing our drinks and the hostess was amiss of the conversation i had with her earlier in which we were to be seated at a table for four. we waited at the bar for about 20 minutes before i had to go up to the hostess stand and ask "is that table for us, or is it another reservation?", referring to the empty 4-top directly next to her. not worrying about the bar tab we started,we sat to order our dinner; we were assured the tab would be transferred. after ordering a barrage of tapas and entrees, and to my surprise (given the delectable menu options), we were less than awed or inspired by the presentation of the dishes. the shrimp ceviche was bitter and not tender at all, and tasted like some cilantro and a lime did it with some cocktail shrimp in the back of a cheap latino grocery store. next was the bland as paper polenta masked with the gorgonzola sauce and sautéed mushrooms. the cheese was the only thing g you could taste. scallops were well cooked, and the asparagus was buttery and smooth. no complaints on taste there, but presentation was lacking. even more sever in the lack if presentation department were the petit crab cakes. 4 smashed, poorly seasoned crab patties that looked like they had been stepped on.
ok. i could go on but i am sick of typing. long story short, this could have been a great experience, but i learn from my own mistakes. maybe some of you can save time and learn from mine as well. i will never eat there again. too bad. i had my hopes up and everything, eve up to the piont when i walked in....

trying too hard. went to tin 202 for dinner the tuesday before thanksgiving. it was *okay*. they're trying too hard. bruchetta was disappointing...sliced baguette (slightly warmed) with cold fresh tomatoes (with a speck of basil) topping the slices. the martini was perfect, but small. it came, though, after my entree arrived. i had the crab cake entree. i thought the mashed potatoes tasted like instant with some red skins thrown in. asparagus was good. crabcakes were meh--seemed like canned crab instead of lump crab. dinner mate had the pork loin...a bit dry, and the mushroom sauce was overly garlicky. i felt rushed. waiter was a bit too chatty and overly friendly. loud. but i'd try it again.

well prepared, needs more flavor. i have had lunch here twice, both times i thought the food was well made, with good ingredients, but lacked memorable flavor, such as from herbs or spices. i had the green velvet soup, light, pureed green vegetables with a dollop of cream in the center, delicious cream stuff, but the soup itself was not extraordinary. and when you are paying the prices they charge you want something unique tasting. i also had the crab cakes, well made, but no real spice to them. i have also had the clam and corn chowder, more tasty then most, but that was the dusting of old bay. i also had the peanut sauce vegetable lettuce wraps, just raw vegetables with a small amount of sauce or more like paste in a cup on the side. this meal was pretty expensive, too expensive for regular lunches. the service was good and it looks really nice in there, but the portions were small and not worth the prices. and i had to go home and eat more food, so not satisfying enough.

great 1st experience. my co-workers and myself frequent many of the eateries in and around high street. we were super excited to get to try out tin 202. the atmosphere was lovely--very classy and elegant, yet still fun. we were graciously greeted by partial owner, christopher evans. he ensured that everything during our lunch visit was satisfactory, if not, more than that. the service was very great, even though it was clear the server was a tad nervous.

so many different items on the menu made deciding what to order particularly hard--i don't know if the type of cuisine served can be narrowed into a singular "type." i ended up ordering the virginia pulled pork--which i was a little skeptical about because i am not a fan of pulled pork that utilizes a vinegar base. but it turned out to be fabulous--the pork had a good moisture to it and the sauce was not overpowering--great combination. the kettle chips that accompanied the sandwich were also delicious!

my co-workers each ordered a different dish--one ordered the corn chowder soup, another the chicken gyro, and another the pastrami panini. everyone loved the lunch that they ordered. the side salads varieties were a hit. and the fact that you have a lunch place that serves fabulous espresso didn't hurt either.

we will definitely be adding tin 202 to the regular list of restaurants that we frequent. definitely a hidden gem! must try!

tin 202 has finally opened. we first heard from tin 202 back in january , when they began restoring the tin ceilings and renovating the space. each month, we'd see a few updates on facebook. by march, the interior looked beautiful and new chandeliers were installed. by may, they had taps. beer was imminent. we had updates; communication was impeccable through may. at the end of the month, they showed finished chairs in a gorgeous dining room and said that soon, happy people would be in them. it was projected to open summer 2014. it looked ready to go. then three months passed. not a single update. in august, they posted a photo from sysco that said "welcome tin 202," whatever that is supposed to mean. a few people commented "when are you opening?" since it seemed like they were so close months ago, then this random photo. no response. another three months go by. and today, a staff of shiny happy people are smiling, welcoming visitors to their soft opening 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. for lunch for the next two weeks. tin 202 became a running joke. whenever people would mention if it would open, i would scowl, angry that their customers have been left in the cold with no updates. communication is so key to any operation. and instead of falling off the earth, why would they not let us know what was going on? instead, they let people wonder if it would ever open and lose faith in the operation, rather than building excitement. but today, they're open - soft open, at least. they are a real place. and after all those months of build-up, i'm not so sure it was worth it. the building is beautiful. the tin ceilings, the dark wood, the white buttoned servers. it's like a speakeasy, and i dig the vibe. it's a little small, with just about five or so four-tops and four two-tops. our server was a bit nervous, but he was just fine. we ordered an appetizer of prosciutto wraps. while i thought this might be a little fancy, it instead looks like something someone would serve at a luncheon. i a
