message to timpano: please fix whatever is wrong. service and food have taken a nose dive. only items still ok are mussels, tuna shooters, and carpaccio. really too bad as the restaurant used to be a great stand by for sunday lunches.

long time favorite but.... have enjoyed timpano's for a number of years but the last few months have been a bit disappointing. still have a good meal but seems like a number of the long time servers are no longer around which is part of the pleasure of eating there. mussels are always falvorful along with the chopped salad and marsala. last time we were there we needed to select 5 bottles of wine before we were able to find something in stock. will continue to dine regulary attimpanobut hope they are just going through a change in staff and will get it back under control soon.

overpriced, overrated, overcooked!. we had dinner here on a saturday evening with friends...i had the osso bucco with risotto and my wife had veal parmesan with truffle mac-n-cheese...the osso bucco was an overcooked...dried up pos that was reheated and sent out to dozens of unsuspecting diners - unfortunately i was one of them! the risotto was thick and clumpy and looked like 3-day old, gray oatmeal...it had no taste except that of something was stored in a freezer and then thawed...and then reheated again - i am not joking! my wife's veal parm was bland...and was like chewing on a dog's leather toy! the mac n cheese wasn't bad tho...thank g*d they brought her a huge 1/4 cup of it...and only for $10! what a deal huh! to be fair...our salads were tasty and a measly $10-12 each ala-carte - i can swing that...not! i don't get it...how do places like this go on year after year? i never return food for simple reasons...so you basically end up paying for a valuable lesson. all i can say is that...you won't be pulling your scam on me ever againtimpanoman, consider this severance!

while i'm not going to write offtimpano(their cocktail menu alone is reason to go there), i doubt jws and i will be doing lunch there again any time soon. we're coming back to you, j. alexander's!

timpano chophouse of tampa, took home second place with italian meatballs which was the first dish i tried of the evening. they were a delicious hit. although i have been totimpanoquite a few times, i have never tried their italian cuisine. i will give it a try next time for sure.

recently i was invited totimpanoin hyde park to sample some new menu items that were paired with, you guessed it, vino. it was a magnificent evening with fabulous company: jennifer buggica (mangiamo! let’s eat!) and jeff houck (the stew). my friend michael blitch of michael blitch photography was able to join me at the last-minute since i wanted to capture beautiful photographs of our experience.

we needed a place to duck into to escape from the rain, and timpano's being the closest,  that is where we ended up.  the place was packed and live piano music was being performed in one corner.  we were seated at one of the patio tables, which was a lovely spot to watch the rain and sip a drink.  my thing lately has been cosmo's, so that was what i ordered and it was perfect.  we ordered a lovely prawn appetizer that came to the table sizzling in its pan with melted butter to dip it in.  the prawn had a delicious smokey taste and was perfect.  soon the rain stopped and our drinks and appetizers were finished and we were able to continue on our way.  next time we won't need to use the rain as an excuse to stop at timpano's.timpanochophouse 1610 west swann avenue tampa, fl  33606 813-254-5870

we went totimpanolast night and we loved it! i took a client out for dinner. i have been there many times and i knew they would deliver. the mussels were awesome and we had a couple of items from the raw bar too. all were fresh and tasty. i had the ribeye, it was perfectly cooked. i took half home as i couldn't finish it. the bartender kim was fun and informative. our server was efficient and not intrusive. the general manager walked us out and told us to come back for live music. i definately will take him up on that.

love love love. i personally lovetimpanochophouse. the ladies night is a great start. food is amazing, always a great crowd. great date spot or to hang with the girls.

martini, martini, martini!!. my girlfriends and i went totimpanoon a tuesday night for "ladies nite." it was awesome. they had little martini and wine lists on the tables in the lounge, bar and their raw bar. at least 5 or 6 martinis were only $3.00!!! thats hard to come by. plus the selection fit every taste. anything from cream, to fruity to stout. for people who didnt like martinis, they had some house wines that were also $3.00. i loved the club/bar atmosphere as well as the live entertainment. theo valentine was the musician. she was spine-tingling! ladies nite was great and we will try to make it back every tuesday.

excellent. had high expectations andtimpanodelivered on ambiance, service and product. i highly recommend!
