best donuts ever!. wake up and walk- up to the cute old-time donut shop counter... you will be greeted by an array of delicious donuts and a friendly employee. the blond haired waitress, is one of best at thomas`s! she quickly takes your order and delivers great customer service with a smile on her face. aside from their outstanding employees, thomas`s has the most amazing and mouth-watering donuts in the world. in fact, their donuts were featured in southern living! i love their chocolate glazed, cinnamon twist, and sour cream donuts! the icing on the chocolate glazed is so sweet and fresh. also, although i am not a filled- donut fan whatsoever; the cream filled long john is a must! the savory donuts and simple atmosphere of the restaurant is a joy to be around. thomas`s is definitely the biggest treat everytimewe are down for vacation.

there wasnt a super long line, waited about 10 mins, we went around 10am. once we got up to order our donuts, the young girl working seemed to be in a bad mood and eachtimewe would ask about a donut she would look at us like we were stupid for asking a simple question and eachtimewe would say something we wanted she would sigh, we only got 6 donuts and two kolache. 3 out of our 6 donuts were good.

just made our last trip to thomas donuts this morning. dried out cold donuts at 9:30 am on a saturday? the plain glaze were just slightly damp on the outside not really any glaze to speak of and dry inside. chocolate was a little better, however it was unanimous among the three kids the donuts were too dry and they didn't really care for them. my brother ordered a large kolache, took a couple bites and realized there was very little sausage inside. he pulled the breading away from the meat, the kolache is mostly bread and a what appeared to be a sausage cut in half long ways. again, dried out. realize it's off season and probably fortunate to even have places open thistimeof the year in pcb, if you want good donuts go another place.

a doughnut is a dougnut. not worth a long wait.. for years i have read about how great the doughnuts are at this little oceanside bakery, so i have made the trip there 2 or 3 times when i visit panama city fl. my experience is that if you are close by and enjoy doughnuts, pick some up but don't waste yourtimeor money driving here from any distance. they have ok doughnuts, but their glazed doughnuts don't come close to the goodness of krispy kreme. folks on vacation like to romance these hide-a-ways, but there is really nothing there but so-so doughnuts. my next doughnut trip will be to a krispy kreme.

popular donut shack in need of customer-friendly organization, management and employees. good donuts, glazed and sugary, which southerners (like me) seem to enjoy. however, the layout of this place is terribly frustrating. there are four windows, and on some mornings they operate them all with 1 line, and the next customer goes to the next available window. the next morning there may be multiple lines. some people like to "cheat" and go to the counter inside the building that appears to be-- or at least, "should be"-- only for the "dining in" crowd. ten dollars worth of signage would help this problem, but none located anywhere. and the employees seem to have a surprising lack of concern for the customer. if only 1 or 2 people were ahead of you, it wouldn't be a big deal, but when there are 20-- and (by my count) the averagetimeit takes for the counter waitstaff to process one customer is 5+ minutes-- standing in line is a bad experience that is not made up for by the quality of the product sold. unfortunately, the joint is popular [although the popularity is hard to gauge because even a small crowd is so poorly processed that it makes the lines seem larger] , so it's unlikely the place will improve until patrons change their attitude and the market forces some management redirection in employee attitudes. i think i'll wait until then to go back.

not great, not clean, lazy staff. dirty: the wooden tables featured plenty of used food wrappers, napkins, and crumbs. there were many counter girls standing around not doing anything, without bothering to clean up the tables. another gross thing: the two restrooms share just the one towel dispenser located outside the restrooms (meaning, you'll be unlocking and opening your door with wet hands). the dispenser is broken, so the towel door is left hanging open in case you want to reach into the heap of wet towels to get one. if it’s true you can judge a kitchen’s cleanliness by the cleanliness of the bathroom and dining area, then i’d hate to see this place’s kitchen.

food: very limited kids’ menu – hot dog, corn dog, or fried chicken strips (weird, hard, nearly blackened). adults had unrecognizable chicken nuggets ($6) which were weird little bread balls, almost no meat. decent burger. grilled chicken sandwich made from a frozen patty. nearly everything else on the menu is deep-fried. we got their “famous hand-made donuts” and they really aren’t special or memorable. other than wal-mart donuts and grocery-store donuts, these are some of the least-interesting, least well-made donuts i’ve ever had. they may have been day-old, i’m not sure. my kids love good donuts and they did eat these but didn't comment on them and didn't ask for seconds.

service problems: we waited a very longtime(half hour?!) for their fast food. there are so many girls trying to work the register areas that they are tripping over each other. halfway through our meal we figured out they forgot one of our entrees so i went back to the counter. the girl ignored me so she could wander off and check her cell phone twice. one of the older ladies glanced at me and went about her business, not helping customers and just ignoring me. finally the cell phone girl returned and asked “did you want something” after a minute she found the chicken strips just laying around in the kitchen. i was surprised that no one bothered to figure out why the cooked food was not going out. she handed it to me without a word. the family that ordered after us had the same problem: 30 minutes after they ordered, after they got some of their food, the mother was back up at the counter saying they were "still waiting" for two of the things they had ordered. and again, the food was immediatley located in the kitchen and provided. it wasn't that it didn't get made, it was just that it didn't get served. so what they have is an expediting problem - the kitchen puts up the food, and the gaggle of girls buzzing about just doesn't notice it or doesn't care (too many facebook updates to read, i guess) and the only way to get your food is to keep going back, asking for whatever they forgot.

hours/location: they advertise new hours, open 7 days a week now, so no more surprise wednesday closings. good location for beach access, as you can walk right across the road to a nice-looking section of the beach with no commercial operations (jet skis, rental chairs, etc.) taking up public space. but you’d be better off brining a picnic than planning to make do with this sad place.

charming, clean, inexpensive & good. visited the shop on a thursday morning around 8:30. it was busy, but not crowded. ourtimein line was brief. we tried 5 different donuts, dining indoors. every donut was great--fresh and flavorful. love the large selection. we didn't try the biscuits or other items, but they looked good. interior is clean and cozy, with lacquered picnic tables--unpretentious. there's a covered area outside with picnic tables, too, if you prefer the outdoors. the shop is right across the street from the beach, so there's a nice breeze all the time. our server at the window was friendly and helpful. prices were good. definitely recommend. only down side for us is that one of our kids is gluten-free. the only gluten-free items on the menu were the eggs and meats. usually we don't go into donut shops when she's traveling with us, but on this occasion, she didn't mind as she wasn't especially hungry. i don't hold this against the shop, but usually we would not have visited the place due to the lack of gluten-free options. would be nice if they offered chex g-free cereals, grits, hashbrowns, etc. as gluten-free options. i saw grits on the online menu, but didn't see them on the menu at the shop. regardless, great place for breakfast.

best.donuts.ever!!!!! epic!!!. not only did my partner and i read rave reviews about thomas's, we were also told by many people to make sure we go there while we were in pcb. our hotel was a couple of miles from thomas's, so we had to drive by it a few times throughout the day and noticed the line wrapped around the place....everytime!!! we got up early one morning and drove over, there was a short wait, not too long. instead of breakfast we decided on a dozen mixed donuts, since that's all we've heard about, the donuts. the wide variety of flavors was unbelievable. some of our favorites were key lime, peaches and cream, devils food cake, white cream, custard, apple and the sour cream donuts. the donuts themselves were cooked to perfection, they literally melt in your mouth and burst with amazing flavor. i honestly can not even remember what a krispy kreme tastes like now ;) best donuts ever, we look forward to visiting again nexttimewe're in town.

worth your time. great local joint. many flavors of donuts on the menu, but by thetimewe got there at 1030 they were pretty picked over. we got 1 blueberry cake and 1 orange juice cake donut. the blueberry was just ok. we went back for seconds of the oj donut to take back to the condo for the following day. we also tried their burgers and onion rings based on the recommendations of the girl that worked there. wouldn't recommend the burgers. just stick with the donuts. btw, they are closed on wednesday.
