yikes! next time i'm listening to reviews... i really didn't think it could be that bad but i went and saw, i ate, and it was. zomato is right 99% of the time. you win zomato, you win
for starters the servers are completely aloof and in one case, quite rude. you have to ask for everything... yes the basics (water, cutlery etc) and don't even think about your plates being collected after you've clearly finished, no, that'll never happen. your order will come out wrong and you'll wait at least 20 minutes for your coffee. the cafe had about four or five tables of patrons so i can't excuse any of this for it being busy and them being understaffed.
now to the food.... well you'll get a plate that you didn't order, the tiny $6 serve of bacon will be burnt and paper thin and to top it off you'll be served cheap supermarket gluten free bread at an extra dollar because you know... it costs them sooooo much more to go to coles and buy the $6 gluten free version of tip top. i will say the poached eggs had a perfectly runny yolk and my latte was good (but i'm not sure if that was because my blood sugar was so low from starvation that anything would of tasted like gold).
oh yeah and be sure not to crack any jokes about wrong orders to the waitstaff... they don't like that, you'll get glared at and im pretty sure when my "correct order" came out it had a side of something unsavoury as payback. and make sure you check your bill!
2nd worst breakfast i've had in melbourne. can't believe people still go here.
that's all.

great venue but the food was not so.
reuben sandwich had about 2mm of filling .... really?
even the big breakfast which is usually a safe choice lacked flavor.

came for a high tea to celebrate a friends hens. ordered one gluten free high tea and the rest normal. called morning of to confirm that one would indeed be gluten free. my gluten free friend ended up waiting 45 minutes for her high tea to arrive, only after i had to get up and visit counter twice to ask after it (fun at 8 mths pregnant). our 'free flowing' mimosas also required me to go to counter and request they be refilled, and for some water to please be brought to our table as it never was. the waitress also poured obviously pregnant me a mimosa, with champagne... which i unknowingly sipped.. and had to ask her to replace. this was a saturday afternoon, they werent full, it didnt seem anyone was attending to tables, just staff working behind counter. quite disappointed.

i came here with big expectation and left with slight disappointment. although not entirely their fault as the hype was of their doing, i feel as though they could've tried to act like they wanted to live up to it

lovely atmosphere and setting for the stables of como. this cute little café is located on the grounds of a grand country-style mansion, an idyllic setting to just relax or even take up their option of a picnic. we went on a weekday so there wasn’t any wait, but weekends are probably super busy. coffees and food are good and worth trying out.

entering the quaint, remodelled stables of this historic homestead and gardens, instantly evokes a country farmhouse feel with a modern twist. the tables are adorned with tea sets, champagne glasses, a jug with cucumber, strawberries and lemon steeped in still water and a scrabble tile holder with the bookees name spelled out in tiles on it. after seeing this place on nine's postcards, i thought it looked worthy of a visit. i booked the high tea for 2 (generally $65 pp) and we were not disappointed. free flowing mimosas, tea and coffee for 1.5 hrs, a caramel slice, raspberry and pistachio teacake, red velvet lamington, lemonade scone with bon mamann jam and chantilly cream, champagne blueberry jelly and salmon, dill and chive on a parmesan biscuit (i didn't eat this last one due to fish aversions) were extremely tasty, but it was the chicken waldorf and brie finger sandwiches that lit my fire. gorgeous morsels of dainty food that actually fill you up regardless of size! the music and ambience were relaxed and positive and the service by the team was personable and accommodating. my partner and i thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and then had a lovely walk around the grounds afterwards as a great aid in digestion and fresh, crisp air. i recommend taking time out to visit. try early weekdays for no waiting times.

high tea: monday-sunday from 3pm-5pm
note: guy tea also available at $75 pp inc. free flowing peroni.

i went to stables of como as it was recommended by urban list for fantastic lemon scones.
i went on saturday after lunch time. having said that it was quite busy, however i got a table after only 5min. first of all i was not provided any table water and had to wait about 10min until my order was taken, while the couple next to me got basically served upon arrival. (maybe i didn't look rich enough).

once i got to order i was told they do not serve lemon scones and upon asking what other sweets they have i was advised to just look through the desserts displayed. there was no menu for sweets like provided her on zomato, or i was just not offered it.
i ordered the "blue&black" juice and a cinnamon roll. it took them 20min to serve me a juice and a cinnamon roll which was about 1-2 days old and not even warmed up. the roll wasn't bad but you cannot say it was delicious either. the juice was good, however pricing a juice 8 bucks and then receiving the tiniest juice i ever saw, which was gone after 5 big sips, was not very enjoyable. the cinnamon roll was $7, which is frankly, pricey too for something at least a day old and not of best quality.

needless too say the area is beutiful as well as the cafe itself, it's just a shame to reicive such service at such a high price with low quality.

arrived here at around 2pm and we didn't have to wait for our table, which is always nice! the waiters were friendly enough and the food was pretty good. it wasn't the best brunch i've ever had, but it is still pretty good! the concept of the place was very unique, it was as if we were dining in a lovely garden! no regrets at all in trying this place :)

such a cute little french provincial cafe surrounded by beautiful grounds. the food and coffee is extremely good. we came on a weekday and had excellent service. can't really say what it would be like on a weekend.

nice place, good service, nice food. what more do you need to have brunch, late lunch or afternoon tea?

located in the como gardens, it's not easy to find but a gem once you do.

seats inside are more congested but still plenty of families with prams.

drinks: good choices of blend juices or wine selection. juices on the small side

food: all day breakfast choices and good lunch menu.

recommended for a sunday morning/ afternoon catch up!

booked for a group of 9, they failed to tell us they'd seat us separately. so we squished onto the one table. food is ridiculously expensive, $6 for a half of avocado. took us 45 mins to get our drinks and my milkshake came out with my food. food was nice can't complain there, however the staff were rude and not helpful. tall blonde lady didn't look like she wanted to be there.

beautiful venue and food is pretty good however overpriced and they don't believe in good old fashioned juices. just apple with honey with is sickly.

don't think i'll be back anytime soon, if ever.
