inside the shabby chic décor is a mix of oversized pendant lights, dainty white chairs and greenery, all framed by wooden and tiled finishes. not that any of it really matters when you set eyes upon the willy wonka-esque bench top of cake domes shielding seemingly endless sweets and pastries from salivating children (and adults). the cakes are currently sourced from different suppliers, but the stables is on the hunt for a pastry chef so they can make their goodies in-house. speaking of house-made, it’s worth trying aggies lemonade scones, which are baked in the original 1847 como kitchen coal-fired ovens and served with bonne maman jam and whipped chantilly cream.

absolutely perfect. after hearing from mouth about mr jones new cafe we were eager to get in before it gets chaotic. the picture perfect atmosphere includes lots of warm timber, white bentwoods and you almost feel as though you could be sitting at a cafe in the country. the cake display is magnificent (couldn't leave without a few). the service is friendly, attentive and helpful. the bruschetta was scrumptious as was the oj and coffee. couldn't help but come back for more and soak up the sun outside after a stroll in the gardens. can't wait to bring friends down to share my experience.

nevertheless i was recommend this place for warmer weathers where you could also enjoy a walk around the historical site. they also provide a picnic option too.
