butter chicken need drastic imporvement....they served funjabi pasta with roti....dal makhni is good...planner tikka is a definite try. the waiters need to recommend on breads as the bread along with the dish not sufficient and then you have to wait for the breads. mutton biryani needs major improvement ....the chef should go to ghazebo & caesar'srestaurantand try butter chicken and mutton/chicken biryani. overall decent experience but high time they should look into mughali dishes also not much options available with fresh fruit juices

their staff has no value for the customer's time that's for sure. they don't know what's available and what's not. i went to therestaurantto ask for "buffet", the staff said only ala carte when there's a lunch set menu also available, which the staff failed to mention.
then after clarification from instagram, i went again and asked for momos island. staff comes back after 5 minutes and says it's no longer available. they took 30 mins to prepare the arabic dishes. i have only an hour for lunch and 40 mins were gone for reaching ordering and waiting! i was literally gulping the food and asked for the bill.
the staff wearing brown coat was taking his sweet time to come so i approached the cashier to see him chatting with his manager. thank you for wasting my time.

the spice tree – recently opened at double tree at hilton (mankhool) received an overwhelming response with their iftar launch during ramadan. it quickly gained popularity and strives to satisfy it’s customers with the fusion concept.

an asianrestaurantmainly inspired by north indian cuisine will surely keep on coming back for more with their recent revamping of menu items.

chef gautam sethi is the man behind the scenes, and he’s done a spectacular job to not only bring together the flavors, but also make the food visually appealing.

it proved to be a rare case, where i would generously rate all items 5 star. with great delight and pure honestly….

we visited the spice treerestaurantat the newly opened double tree in bur dubai. we opted for the iftar. once we reached the restaurant, we realise that there were not enough vegetarian options . the chef gautam sethi personally attended to us and helped us with an assortment of veg and vegan food at the table. he made sure we had enough options available to us which was great. the veg biryani was awesome and the kala channa tasted exactly how one would eat growing up in a punjabi home. i am looking forward to visiting again for the indonesian options that looked quite tempting. thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience.

i do not like writing 1* reviews. for the simple reason that it's being unkind to arestaurantin tough times like these. also, it's basically just reliving the bad experience. but then you go and have a 'not too cheap' iftar buffet at a hotel brand like hilton and have this experience. then something needs to be said. let me dive right in to it-

cost - 238 aed for 2 if you book through groupon.
ambience- pleasant. if you find a corner table .
staff- polite and ready to help with a smile. but completely clueless about the menu. to the extent that they were not even sure if a certain dish had any meat or not. and if yes, what kind of meat.
food- horrible. i have had my fair share of indian/emirati/lebanese and other arabic food in dubai across places. and almost every dish in therestaurantwas underwhelming, cold or plain bad. the biryani was definitely stale, and tasteless. also, therestaurantis located in a predominantly indian/pakistani area of bur dubai and yet nobody had taken the trouble to mention what the dishes on the table were. just a random arabic name and to make matters worse the staff had no idea what the dishes had. i was not expecting a gourmet description. just if the dish was lamb, beef or just vegetarian. one sweet chap even took the trouble of going away to check and came back with no answer. it would not have killed therestaurantto write 3-4 words in english under the arabic names of dishes. even though it was a buffet, the staff were serving it because of covid restrictions. and while they were trying their best, therestaurantwas clearly understaffed and they were struggling to manage the constant stream of people queuing up for food. the selection of starters was very limited and the desserts were extremely ordinary and gelatinous. i ended up wasting a lot of food today after a single bite and had my entire iftar meal in less than 45 mins ( including the wait time) with just black dal (only tolerable dish) and roti and walked out of there.

avoid!!

a gorgeous property right in the heart of the city and an iftar spread where there's something for everyone. even on a very busy evening, the staff are serving everyone with the essential gear to maintain hygiene and proper distancing.

the spice tree is an indianrestaurantin the hotel and the iftar buffet unlike the regular ones not only has the salads, mezze and traditional arabic dishes but also a good spread of indian spiced kebabs, fresh breads from the tandoor and also some indian mains. there is also a huge selection from international cuisines.

chef gautam sethi, the main man behind the scenes is personally there to ensure everything is smooth sailing. his secret recipe of the bread dough kept the bread soft and fresh even after some time of it being ready. the spices are perfect and would suit any palate.

chef gayan, the pastry chef again is personally there to serve his choice of some unique and brilliant desserts. the honey pecan pie was just one of his many specialists - the taste of which still lingers in my mouth.

my verdict - this iftar is not the regular one and the crowd did confirm this.

had the business lunch here in the brand new hilton hotel in their the spice treerestaurantthere and therestaurantwas amazing, big and spacious, they have set menu for veg and non veg which you can chose. had the veg thaali there was served with paneer tikka masala which was awesome, main course is paneer masala with parata, jeera rice and dal fry served with sweet sauce, papas and very amazing gajar ka halwa.

so if you are there with colleagues to try amazing food with super cool ambience this is the go to restaurant.

valet parking available in hotel.
