best biscuits in the city. this is an excellent place for breakfast. i love their country ham and red eye gravy, as well as the fried pork chops. add one of those with eggs and their delicious, flaky biscuits with real southern gravy and you have quite a breakfast. there can be a bit of a wait on the weekends, and there's very little room inside to wait for your table, but they do have counter service, and it usually moves pretty quickly. lori is one of the nicest waitresses there.

i've meaning to visit this place for years. it was worth the wait. the food was amazing. i opted for lunch but i understand the breakfast is also awesome. the meatloaf with gravy is an absolute comfort. the dressing and fried okra were cooked perfectly and the meal arrived at the table in a timely fashion. if you've been meaning to visit the silver skillet...just do it!

the silver skillet has been an atlanta institution for breakfast and lunch since 1956! featured on diners, drive-ins & dives, anchorman 2 and more. the breakfast is great, so expect a short wait outside on weekends. the skillet country ham w/ red eye gravy is delicious!

after seeing this classic diner on food network we had to try it. i did like the old school feel to this place. diners like this are far and few between but the food was really bland and disappointing. the country ham was actually disgusting with the soy sauce thing... not worth the hype. will not return

food and service was great. short wait times for seating. the food was ready quickly. fair pricing. deducted a point for aging decor and small booths.

this place is a staple for atlanta for breakfast located at the georgia tech campus. it has been around for decades now and i soon as you step inside you are transported to the "simpler times". sit down grab a coffee and soak in the scenery. the breakfast is great anywhere from just basic eggs to one of my favorites of the breakfast variety corn beef hash. the plate that steals the show though is the skillet country ham, its salty, savory and comes with a blast of red eye gravy to give you a kick in the pants. if you are tired of the typical hipster breakfast joints that try to much and have to wait a hour for breakfast come to this oldie.

awesome breakfast in an old time diner. i had the pork chop breakfast and it was pretty good. the highlight wasn't the meat though but the biscuits and the grits. nice southern fare.

this classic atlanta diner was one of the first places i visited when first coming to atlanta - the food here is nothing special - it's good, consistent and relatively inexpensive. you come here more for the service, which is very good and provided by staff that are super experienced having worked here for many, many years. you also come for the experience - there just aren't many classic diners left - this location is used for quite a bit of location scenes in tv and movies. make sure you check out all the signed wrestling photos on the walls - the skillet was a favorite haunt for many who wrestled for wwf/wcw back in the day...

silver skillet satisfies. we’ve been going to this diner for breakfast for years. it has a great retro feel. the servers all seem to have been there for years and they are friendly and quick.

we hardly ever stray from the skillet country ham which is rich and has a great salty tang. the grits and biscuits are also very good.

one of these days we’ll have to try something else on the menu or even return for lunch. in the meantime, this is the perfect place for an old-time southern breakfast.

old school. silver skillet is an old school atlanta institution. its the type if spot you could visit again 20 years from now and everything would be the exact same. there are a million trendy spots around town to grab breakfast but if you want a cozy, comfort food style meal go to silver skillet. and the biscuits are damn good.

the menu is basic (ie boring but not everyone is an adventuresome eater) . as one person recently told me, "change makes me anxious and very uncomfortable." essentially wants to eat the same food all her life, do the same job, have the same partner and live in the same home. nothing exciting but these people exist and their food dollars go to places like silver skillet.

been eating here off and on for 40 years - i work in the area. hadn't been in quite a while so decided to go in for some of that fried chicken...it was lightly colored/cooked on the outside - i remembered it being golden in years past. but the thing that got me most was the slaw... was totally white - no green whatsoever and swimming in mayo. then i got to the steamed cabbage.... no taste whatsoever - they could have at least used a bullion cube or something in it if they were trying to stay away from a greasy seasoning...was so disappointed - i do love mae, one of the waitresses - wonder if she still works there??

travel back in time. eating here is like going back 60 years in time. we went on a weekday around 10 and walked right in and sat down. quick service and great food. i had the ham steak and eggs, its super salty but our waitress warned me, i loved it. also the biscuits were homemade and amazing. i had to try their famous pie, supposedly it was ranked in the top 5 in the country, which i would support. if your in the atl stop by this place, you wont be disappointed.
