...we headed over to the row for a southern feast. since we had guests in town, we had to introduce them tofriedfood galore. pickles anyone?

delicious burger & good whiskey. i went here with my two friends for dinner and we were all impressed. the selection of whiskey was fantastic. i had the row burger with pimento cheese and afriedgreen tomato. it was awesome! i highly recommend.

my husband declared thefriedcatfish at the row to be the best he’s ever had...he’s 63 years old and was raised in the south so he knows what he’s talking about. tender white catfish is deepfriedin a perfectly crispy cornmeal batter with a side of crunchy okra, heaven! we also had the shrimp and grits, loaded with plump shrimp and flavorful andouille sausage. don’t miss the margarita, a new twist on an old favorite and the cumberland cucumber, a refreshing summer cocktail. waitstaff is friendly and efficient. we enjoyed live music on the patio at the community tables, a great way to meet the locals.

fast service, great food that is actually cooked to order from scratch, great live music and atmosphere! get thefriedgreen tomatoes and chickenfriedchicken.

two great experiences. casual tasty southern inspired food with free music in the bar and nice outdoor seating area. pretty family friendly. hot chicken is boneless but delicious and sides, salads, andfriedokra highly recommended. i probably wouldn't do bbq or steak here since other places specialize in those.

we were at the "joke" aka the row on saturday night and the hostess comes to us and let's us know that the bands are supposed to stop at 11. the owner just got off the stage at 11:25. what she didn't know is the we had no affiliation with the band. she proceeds to tell her manager that the group we were with cussed her, which in fact we told her that we were not the managers of the band that someone usually let's the band know when to stop playing. now my friends are not allowed back. my $70 tab will also not be back. the server was horrible i orderedfriedpickles and an hour later was told the fryer was closed down then thefriedpickles came out "magically" and then i was charged forfriedpickles that i was told that i would never get.

thefriedgreen tomatoes however (not pictured), where amazing. they werefriedin cornmeal, with a side of pimento cheese, and topped with a chow chow. my recommendation is to skip the pickles and go for the tomatoes.

southern comfort. my observations are just based on one weeknight dinner. with many of the area eating and drinking establishments often crowded and noisy, those seeking a more quiet atmosphere may find comfort here. the row offers diners with southern style food in a country/rustic atmosphere. large photos of a few of the legends well known to nashville and beyond are on walls behind large booths. my waitress was personable and helpful. while i enjoyed my grilled tilpia topped with a bbq style sauce, the sides offriedokra and snap greens & caramelized onions were a bit too "slathered" for my taste. beer drinkers may like the nice selection of both tennessee and southern microbrewery beers on tap. one of my favorites, sue (an american porter) by yazoo brewing is currently served here. overall, i would recommend to others who seek a restaurant serving basic southern-style comfort food.
