bad news... its been a few months since ive eaten here and quality of the food seems to have changed. the burger/reuben had a frozen patty and over cooked. also, i found a mystery animal part inside the sandwich (still unidentified). the waitress was wonderful and took the bill but it was disappointing. also, at 2pm, slow enough crowd, i would have expected a manager to visit. might have to wait a while before i try again.

really good. i had the corned beef sandwich and garden salad combo. i loved the salad it was fresh and not from a bag. you could tell it was made on-site with fresh veggies. the small corned beef sandwich was huge and tasty. the meat was tender with no fat. the rye bread was fresh and soft. it was the perfect lunch. i had to have half of my sandwich wrapped to go...it will be a nice snack later this evening. if you are on the blvd give route 58 a try.

protect your wallets and stay far away.

if you manage to come here on one of the few times they're actually open, be prepared for ridiculously high prices and the restaurant trying to steal your money outright.

the restaurant's website offers online ordering - only their system doesn't work, leading to us ordering $66 of food only to be met with shrugs from the staff. upon checking our bank app, we found that we had been charged twice for the order.

after complaining to the manager, i was dismissively told "we don't have online ordering", despite it being functional on the website. she was completely disinterested in fixing the problem, telling me only "you'll have to cancel the charges", and accepting no responsibility whatsoever for the situation.

absolutely love this deli! i visited this restaurant for the first time this summer and have been several times since. i love the pastrami sandwich as well as the super reuben. also, if you’re in the mood for authentic new york cheesecake this is the place for you!

best pastrami sandwich in hampton roads period. 16 oz of meat, on your choice of bread and topped with any cheese they got. also fantastic cheesecake. don’t expect to get a sammich, drink, and dessert and get outta there under 25 though.

i've been here before. however tonight was the last time i'll ever return. i ordered corned beef hash. i always saw hash as being chunky. their hash is fried mush. with everything turned to mush it's hard to taste the actual ingredients. beside the mushy taste they over fried it and it tasted burnt. as i said i'll never return.

very busy place but not for me. crowded, prices are high even though you do get enough in one sandwich for 4 people.  seems kinda gluttonous.  i got the pastrami on rye but the bread was like store bought food lion style. the pickles were mushy. the waitress said that's normal.  i never in my life had a mushy pickle. yuck.  it's different for hampton roads but a far cry from a ny style deli. the experience didn't meet the hype.

i just love this place. you will never be able to eat all your food. my waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. it reminded me of the deli's i went to when i was young.

food here is great and you'll never leave hungry. everything is big enough for two. the blitzes are awesome but so is everything i've had. sandwiches are huge so i'm ok with the prices, which would otherwise be high.. pretty unique options although not gourmet (no fancy aiolis but still done well).

one of the best places in the area. every meal is enough to serve 2 people. the turkey and pastrami is incredible. the french fires are perfect everytime. and the cheesecake may seem pricey but the slice is enough for 3. you will not be disappointed.

it would be difficult for this place to avoid being overrated. it's just a consequence of serving simple food at relatively high prices and to nearly universal acclaim. with that being said, it is pretty good and the service is better than some of the other reviews suggest. i do wish they had some lighter (by which i mean: smaller) options, if only so i could avoid wasting food.
