the park grill

my husband and i liked this place so much we ate their twice! thesaladbar was so fresh- even had pickled okra and fresh mozzarella balls. we ate a chicken sandwich the first night and i had a burger the second time. the burger was my favorite! it was a high grade beef and the dinner rolls were awesome! amazing service!

overpriced. for this price point they should not have asaladbar. the prime rib was good, but not seasoned. they made up for the lack of salt on the strip steak and medium rare came out rare. skip the "premium" sides, the mac and cheese was stouffer's with some bacon mixed in and the onion rings are straight out of the freezer bag. the service was pretty lackluster considering you can't get out of there for much under $40 a head. with all the choices in the area, skip this "wonderful" experience!

excellent service, wine list, andsaladbar! service was great and the food was amazing! definitely a little pricy for the amount of food though.

i'll never go back again. went for thesaladbar...heard it was great. it was average, same as my college caf. the menu was very limited and over priced. the spinach dip was terrible. i'm disapointed that i wasted a meal going here with all the other great restaurants around.

unexcusable attitude and service. nice atmosphere and a greatsaladbar. however, my pork chop arrived unedible. it had some pineapple glaze over it that the menu didn't explain.

nobody, the waiter ot the "manager", offered to do anything about it.

on a second trip, and treating my mother and sister i might add, my mothers steak came back cooked to death. once again. the waiter or manager on duty offered to do nothing.

absolutely horrible. my wife and i have eaten here on at least 3 different occasions and all three have offered different levels of disappointment. i made the mistake of taking a large group of family members there the last time and two of the 8 dinners served were wrong. and that wasn't the problem, the problem was management. they basically said, "tough".

on another occasion, an expensive menu item was delivered to the table with a very sweet glaze that wasn't mentioned on the menu. when this was brought up to the waiter, i was told that another would take 20 minutes to prepare.

any visitor to our wonderful city would be better served by spending their money at a place that appreciated the business. try any of the places on the strip leading up to the park grill because it is a dead end street.

not worth the price. excellent service. nice, cabin/rustic atmosphere, excellent trout, steak is mediocre at best (ordered medium rare ribeye, it was dry with no blood at all,saladbar is ok. eat here for the trout / sweet potatoes, do not eat here if you’re looking for an excellent steak. sorry, but the food quality is not worth the price. paid $108 for a dinner for 3 people. i could’ve gotten the same dinner/quality at texas road house for $60.

good place. i go to the gatlinburg area at least once a year. park grill is one place i always try to go to. i usually get the same thing. ribeye with trout and asaladbar. good food. bloody mary's are good also. i think the pedler is associated with park grill , but park grill is better.

service was good. great atmosphere.saladbar was excellent very fresh. however steak was terrible undercooked, tough, and had bitter taste. for 34$ never again. i've had better steaks for 18$. desert blackberry cobbler excellent. go there forsaladand desert skip main course.

in march, 2013, i posted a review which was very critical of the park grill's identity crisis, including decor changes and per item pricing. tonight, i was very pleased to see it looking like a lodge again, rather than an asian fusion abomination. the only reminder was some of the oddly out of place white furniture. a side andsaladwere again included with entrees. menu additions, such as the cherry moonshine filet skewers were excellent. thanks for finding your soul again park grill. you're an old friend and we missed you.

while the park grill is still capable of some of the best food in gatlinburg, our dining experience there was unsettling. this is a destination restaurant for my family, and this is the first time i've left wondering if i really need to go back. the decor is hideous. it looks like a pf chang blew up inside a national park lodge. the new menu equates to about the same amount spent, but it feels like patrons are being nickled and dimed to death. $4.99 for a common sweet potato?? come on! more than one diner in other parties seemed put off by having to order immediately, and by thesaladbar no longer being included with entrees. for the first time ever, food was less than perfectly prepared. two meals were up to par, but one steak ordered rare was barely warmed, and the seasonal vegetables appeared nuked to oblivion. even our waitress seemed uptight and anticipating complaints. all in all, it's just not the park grill anymore. let's hope they can find a cure for this gastronomic schizophrenia before it's too late for the dear ole park.

good but overpriced. it has been a few years since our last visit, which we thoroughly enjoyed, but we were somewhat disappointed this time. the service couldn't be better, but the food is overpriced, especially thesaladbar. there should at least be a few more side salads and a soup offered on the bar, not just potato salad. also, when ordering a steak, thesaladbar should be included, not an extra $4.99. we weren't fond of the new décor either.

wonderful!. this is one of our favorite restaurants in gatlinburg. we've been several times and have not been disappointed. the only complaint is parking. thesaladbar is very good, as are the entrees. try the dessert sampler - you won't be sorry. the decor is very fitting for the area. on one occassion, we had the pleasure of sitting next to the pianist, which was a great way to enjoy a romantic evening.

what happened?. it's been a few years since i've eaten at the park grill. they have a new sign and logo. also, they have undergone some kind of "mod" remodeling job which seems out of place for the building and for the area. they should have left well enough alone. the black and white themes along with the new light fixtures do not mix well with this beautiful log building.
moving on to the food... i had thesaladbar and was generally impressed with all items i tried (and i tried many of them). the basil vinaigrette dressing was excellent! you should try it for sure if they have it available. bread was ok - plain rolls. our waitress was nice, but not very attentive - no water refills.
the prices have gone up substantially in the last three years. although i cannot remember prices with precision, it seems that some items may have doubled. from what i saw tonight, the quality and service have not kept pace.

this place was awsome. thesaladbar had everything you could ever want on a salad. our steaks were juciy, very flavorful and cooked perfect. the service at this restaurant was excellent. the piano being played during dinner was a nice addition to and excellent dining experience.

a little pricey, but great for a nice dinner out. thesaladbar is excellent, my husband and i shared the rib eye and grilled trout combination dinner and ordered an extrasaladbar which was plenty of food. try the trout...absolutely delicious you will notbe disappointed!!

sometimes worth the price!. the food here is usually delicious. i've had a variety of things: steaks,saladbar, moonshine chicken, dessert, etc. the dinners are very pricey, but for a one-time dinner on family vacation, it's manageable. they used to have the "early bird special" which was a smaller menu served from like 4-6 or something like that, with much more reasonable prices. they don't have it any more, which makes us more hesitant to go. the atmosphere is beautiful, complete with a live piano player. thesaladbar is very extensive and delicious.

salad bar way to overpriced. they should take lessons from jason's deli on how to have a goodsaladbar. the spinach/queso dip was not good at all was tired spinach
