amazing. i thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. we had a great bottle of wine, a few great starters (you must have the crab cakes!!! unlike any i have ever had.) our entrees were so tasty and the accompaniments were very generous portions.

i felt that the quality of the food and the excellentservicemade for a memorable evening of dining. the final bill was reasonable given everything listed above. i would definitely eat here again, next time i am in town.

what a brown-nosing waiter!. my dad had a wonderful time at oceanaire!

unfortunately, our visit there was not for my dad but for my wife. i had made a reservation through open table and had specified that the occasion was my wife's birthday. the waiter acknowledged it was my wife's birthday and wished her a happy birthday. but after that, theservicemy wife and i received was no better than theserviceone would receive at denny's or perkins. we had to ask the waiter for everything we wanted - drinks when we were empty, a napkin when one was taken from us and coffee when it wasn't offered.

the waiter had zeroed in on my dad as the person paying the bill, a.k.a. the tipper. he said things to him like working with our table wasn't even like working at all, and that after his shift was done and he was drinking a beer with his buddies, he was going to make a toast to my dad because he was such a great guy.

what b.s., what a brown-nosing waiter and what poorservicewe received because of that.

mediocre faire at a high price point. first off, i grade places like oceanaire where entrees average over $35/ea on a more stringent code than a $15-20 seafood place. with that being said oceanaire has a lot going for it but fell down in key areas. while theservicelevel was excellent the food quality was uneven and they have an issue with their wines by the glass.

we started out with some salads - all excellent especially their caesar - and a prawn cocktail. so far so good. my so ordered a glass of duckhorn chardonnay. for those who have experience with that wine, it usually is a full-flavored, oaky wine. what she received tasted like a watered down version and the pour, for $18 was not very generous. she ordered a glass of santa margarita pino grichio with her entree, again a label she was familiar with, and again it tasted flat. i had a glass of mcmanus cab with my entree and it was fine.

the entrees arrived and all were to some degree disappointing. my ny steak was tasty but overly salty. my guess is when things get busy in the kitchen - and this was a busy saturday - the kitchen depends too heavily on the salt and don't take the time to taste the results properly. my sos swordfish was perfectly cooked in the middle but tasted dry and overcooked on the outside. my daughter had the crab cake entree and they had way too much of a mayonaise-like taste.

we've been to the vegas location which is why we chose oceanair. aside from the superiorservicelevel it was hard to believe the two are sister establishments.

my boyfriend and i had a great night at oceanaire! the food and drinks were great. yes, the prices are slightly steep. but, if you don't want to pay those prices don't eat there. theservicemade everything 100x better! our server was very knowledgeable and helped me decide what to try. it was an overall great dining experience.

i recently dinned here on 9/4/18 prior to seeing a show. the wait staff was aware of our time restrictions (1.5 hours). our main course was somewhat delayed, and then when i received my halibut it was overcooked. this was reported to multiple wait staff including our waiter. i was offered a new piece of fish, but with only 15 minuets to show time i explained there was no time for a replacement and i would eat the fish. there was no further attempt atservicerecovery. i was appalled that i was charged 37$ for a piece of over cooked fish. there was no time to dispute this grievance as the show was starting soon. the waiter was not prompt with the delivery of the bill or processing of the check. i am very disappointed as this could have been a great experience.

my waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the wine list & i enjoyed his personality. i ordered the cod "louie" but the kitchen ran out of cod. my waiter suggested the same dish, but with halibut for the same price. i highly recommend their calamari and crab cakes as well. the food was amazing! managers walked the floor and checked on all of the tables. i was very impressed with theserviceand quality of food.

we had dinner at oceanaire last night and i have to admit it was good but pricy. our server was knowledgeable andservicewas quick. the food was really decent but not quite up to the price.atmosphere was a bit noisy due to a table of 15 guys next to us. other than that everyone had a good time. i probably won't come back just simply because there's so many other good places in the gaslamp district.

romantic anniversary dinner!. we had a great time at this restaurant! theservicewas some of the best i've ever seen. they really know how to treat customers! our waiter greeted us by name and spent a good amount of time going over the menu and giving us recommendations which were all spot on. the food came in huge portions and was skillfully prepared. we got a free desert of flaming baked alaska because it was our anniversary. the dinner was quite pricey, but we left stuffed!

noisy busy dining room, hard to hold conversation. everything was tasty, andservicewas fine, but both were better at ocean prime. apparently we overstayed our welcome in the dining room, and we're invited to vacate our table for the bar. i guess if we'd payed $10 a person instead of $80, that wouldn't have bothered me. i won't go back.

i have eaten at oceanaire restaurants in other cities and had excellent experiences. this was my first time at the denver restaurant. the food was quite good, but theservicewas the worst i have had in many years. i took my family there to celebrate a special occasion, and we left feeling like we could have had a better experience at red lobster. very long delay in bringing drinks to the table. my wife ordered tilefish special, but waiter delivered monkfish. upon stating this is not what we ordered, waiter left for 2 minutes then came back and said they were out of tilefish so they gave her monkfish instead. yeah, right. we won't be coming back, and we will not be recommending denver oceanaire to our friends.

best steak and shrimp in minnesota.... what a wonderful experience. we have dined at all the premium establishments downtown and the oceanaire rises above the pack. with exception to our favorite romantic restaurant la belle vi, this will be at the top of the list for a dining experience where the food tastes amazing, theserviceis exceptional and in the end, the cost of the meal is more than reasonable. tonight started with a warm greeting from assistant manager nate, followed by a friendly hello from our server nat. what we didn’t realize at the beginning of the meal was that nat would become our favorite waiter in minneapolis/st.paul. if you read our other reviews, praise is often given to outstanding waiters. nat is at the top of his profession. he has worked here over seven years and it shows. his passion for the food, his gentle approach and his big smile. you instantly feel comfortable. the first course was a shrimp crab bite on a cracker with cucumber and sriracha sauce. it was so good. the relish tray was old school and we loved it. bread was fresh and had great flavor. next was the scallop. perfectly cooked with tomato and fresh pesto. this is how a scallop should be served. next was the orange salad. greens with orange mimosa vinaigrette, goat cheese and candied orange shavings. we would return just for this salad. next was the trout with crab. we do not like trout. this trout was spectacular. crispy skin, perfectly cooked and so full of flavor without the strong fish taste. we were impressed with the culinary skills of the chef. next was the best course of the evening. the best shrimp and steak we have experienced in minnesota. we were sad when mortons closed in downtown. this is no longer true. we will return to the oceanaire for the steak and seafood louie often. the medium rare steak was cooked perfectly. the flavor was without equal and the sauces that accompanied the steak and shrimp were amazing. this would have been the perfect way to end the meal but they served a slice of key lime pie and a slice of new york cheesecake with a fruit topping that was awesome. the entireserviceteam is professional and friendly. the restaurant was packed on a friday night. the noise level is loud. this would be my only concern about the oceanaire. for a truly romantic setting this is not the place. parking is valet or on the street. if you are downtown minneapolis and want a memorable meal, make reservations at the oceainaire.

worstserviceat the bar. i blame the management. when you have a restaurant located directly across from the theater you should know to staff accordingly. alas, every time i eat here (purely out of convenience of location) it's awful. on my last visit, it took me 15 minutes to get a glass water and then another 10 to get a drink and order food. i event went onto their website and gave feedback and no one ever bothered to respond.

great place for fish lovers!. where else can you go in the twin cities and find australian barramundi, mexican corvina, and hawaiian blue marlin on the menu on a daily basis? ocaenaire is fish, and it does it well! to me, this is a "special occasion" place. we dropped over $200 with no alcohol, but shared apps and desserts. i highly recommend the oysters. we tried a mix of 3 from the east coast and 3 from the west. they came perfectly chilled. the calamari was very tasty. i thought it would be spicy being it was infused with red chilies, but it sweet and flavorful. my jumbo sea scallops were $34, but the four were perfectly seared with a wonderful buttery center. mmmm! their house salad was wonderful, and huge. my favorite side was the roasted beets with blue cheese. we shared desserts - key lime pie and death by chocolate. the chocolate cake says it feeds 3-4, but i think it feeds 12! it was enormous! all in all, a great dinner.servicewas top notch, food was spectacular. only thing i didn't like was the blue neon lights overhead. i'll be back... when i come into some more money ;)
