amazing. i thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. we had a great bottle of wine, a few great starters (you must have thecrabcakes!!! unlike any i have ever had.) our entrees were so tasty and the accompaniments were very generous portions.

i felt that the quality of the food and the excellent service made for a memorable evening of dining. the final bill was reasonable given everything listed above. i would definitely eat here again, next time i am in town.

mediocre faire at a high price point. first off, i grade places like oceanaire where entrees average over $35/ea on a more stringent code than a $15-20 seafood place. with that being said oceanaire has a lot going for it but fell down in key areas. while the service level was excellent the food quality was uneven and they have an issue with their wines by the glass.

we started out with some salads - all excellent especially their caesar - and a prawn cocktail. so far so good. my so ordered a glass of duckhorn chardonnay. for those who have experience with that wine, it usually is a full-flavored, oaky wine. what she received tasted like a watered down version and the pour, for $18 was not very generous. she ordered a glass of santa margarita pino grichio with her entree, again a label she was familiar with, and again it tasted flat. i had a glass of mcmanus cab with my entree and it was fine.

the entrees arrived and all were to some degree disappointing. my ny steak was tasty but overly salty. my guess is when things get busy in the kitchen - and this was a busy saturday - the kitchen depends too heavily on the salt and don't take the time to taste the results properly. my sos swordfish was perfectly cooked in the middle but tasted dry and overcooked on the outside. my daughter had thecrabcake entree and they had way too much of a mayonaise-like taste.

we've been to the vegas location which is why we chose oceanair. aside from the superior service level it was hard to believe the two are sister establishments.

this was our first time at the oceanaire in denver. the hostess didn't seem very welcoming but our waitress was very nice and she made several good recommendations. at her recommendation, i chose the new zealand barramundi fish, blackened with bleu cheese with caramelized onions. it was really good. my mom got thecrabcakes and my dad got the sriracha salmon with potatoes. we paired our dishes with the parmesan asparagus and creamed corn. for dessert, we had the chocolate cake. the food was really good and the ambiance was overall pleasant.

started out with some oysters and shrimp cocktail. excellent, but the cocktail sauce for the shrimp was a little too horse radishy. next i had the lobster bisque and that was great. my wife and i both had halibut as our main entree and mine was topped withcraband a caper sauce. awesome. the creamed corn is to die for but i was disappointed the brussel sprouts were not available. the banana cream pie was a perfect finish to the meal.

my waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the wine list & i enjoyed his personality. i ordered the cod "louie" but the kitchen ran out of cod. my waiter suggested the same dish, but with halibut for the same price. i highly recommend their calamari andcrabcakes as well. the food was amazing! managers walked the floor and checked on all of the tables. i was very impressed with the service and quality of food.

best steak and shrimp in minnesota.... what a wonderful experience. we have dined at all the premium establishments downtown and the oceanaire rises above the pack. with exception to our favorite romantic restaurant la belle vi, this will be at the top of the list for a dining experience where the food tastes amazing, the service is exceptional and in the end, the cost of the meal is more than reasonable. tonight started with a warm greeting from assistant manager nate, followed by a friendly hello from our server nat. what we didn’t realize at the beginning of the meal was that nat would become our favorite waiter in minneapolis/st.paul. if you read our other reviews, praise is often given to outstanding waiters. nat is at the top of his profession. he has worked here over seven years and it shows. his passion for the food, his gentle approach and his big smile. you instantly feel comfortable. the first course was a shrimpcrabbite on a cracker with cucumber and sriracha sauce. it was so good. the relish tray was old school and we loved it. bread was fresh and had great flavor. next was the scallop. perfectly cooked with tomato and fresh pesto. this is how a scallop should be served. next was the orange salad. greens with orange mimosa vinaigrette, goat cheese and candied orange shavings. we would return just for this salad. next was the trout with crab. we do not like trout. this trout was spectacular. crispy skin, perfectly cooked and so full of flavor without the strong fish taste. we were impressed with the culinary skills of the chef. next was the best course of the evening. the best shrimp and steak we have experienced in minnesota. we were sad when mortons closed in downtown. this is no longer true. we will return to the oceanaire for the steak and seafood louie often. the medium rare steak was cooked perfectly. the flavor was without equal and the sauces that accompanied the steak and shrimp were amazing. this would have been the perfect way to end the meal but they served a slice of key lime pie and a slice of new york cheesecake with a fruit topping that was awesome. the entire service team is professional and friendly. the restaurant was packed on a friday night. the noise level is loud. this would be my only concern about the oceanaire. for a truly romantic setting this is not the place. parking is valet or on the street. if you are downtown minneapolis and want a memorable meal, make reservations at the oceainaire.

it was discustung. aside from few appetasing appetasiers. we were there with about 10 people we ordered few pounds of kingcrablegs and they were spoiled how pathetic. manager came over appologised and stock us with a bill. i would not recommend this place to my enemy. no wonder there were 2-3 occupied tables on a saturday might. yak yak yak.

the famouscrabcakes are pretty good - all realcrabmeat - with a tasty mustard-mayo topping. the kid dynamite baja yellowtail was good - spiced with the sriracha (rooster) sauce. we loved crisp truffled cauliflower with yellow raisins. finished off with the flaming bombe alaska - with mint chocolate chip ice cream!

does not disappoint!. we have recently gone to the new location, although the decor was a little too hip (neon blue lighting everywhere) the food was outstanding. we had the escargot, and clams casino with cocktails (delish!) then paired a delicious tuscano with our meal of shrimp/ filet mignon and blackened walleye, andcrabcakes entree that was really close to the quality of bubba gumps fresh out of the water in baltimore. besides the food, our server was amazing, the first time we went there our server was more snooty than the food. but this one had great service and showed she was warm blooded- we spent a lot of $ and it was worth every penny!

dined here while i was in san diego for work. menu was pricey but i had a giftcard which was helpful. i had the "kid dynamite" a yellowfin tuna dish withcrabtopping and spicy preparation. it was very good. also had the roasted fingerling potatoes as a side. they were well season and flavorful but could have been a little crispier. had chocolate mouse for dessert, it was excellent but could have been complimented with some time of crunchy component. atmosphere was loud despite dining at 10 pm on saturday evening. overall i would recommend this restaurant and would return.

on top of the food chains. if you are looking for great seafood, oceanaire is the place to go in the twin cities. this site is full of recommendations that i won't repeat, but i do highly recommend the fresh fish selections. i had the grouper with the lumpcraboscar and it was outstanding. stay away from the stone crabs.

know before you go!. we had a reservation here for a sept sunday night. the place was packed. we waited 30-45 mins for our table and things started off great. we ordered a bottle of wine (white) and appetizers. still good. then the waitress comes to take our dinner order..but first she list all the seafood entrees that they have sold out of for the night. we ordered steaks, lobsters, &crabcakes. when our food finally arrived the restaurant was nearly empty. finally, she took a dessert order from 1 of the 5 of us and turned on her heel and walked away. never bothering to take additional dessert orders until we flagged her down to request such. summary of the dinner was sad, slow service and even sadder seafood choices with a very hefty price tag.
