on a holiday, my friends travelled south for a metro manila break. since tagaytay was too traffic, we settled here at nuvali instead.
solenad was where we hanged out. there were still a legion of people, but it was manageable. among the hundreds of food choices available, we picked a unique concept, the morning after, a restaurant that focuses on breakfast from all over the world.
some of what we had were good, while some needs tweaking to stand out. my top pick would be their take on bagnet sinigang. the pork was really tasty, while soup had a nice sourness to it, similar to how my mom prepares it at home.
another worth having will be the full english breakfast. this morning feast had grilled english bangers (sausage), crispy bacon strips, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, sautéed mushrooms, fried bread and two eggs of your choice. for just php 345, it was value for money.
truffle shitake mushroom was a big fail. it had truffle taste but the rest of the flavor was non existent. chicken fingers with kimchi was also nothing special, it was simply too plain.
i did like my drink, sago & gulaman for its crushed ice and soft tapioca. no desserts for us here too, as we were all too full for another bite.
when was the last time you went south for a meal? i’ve been to solenad many times, and i still have yet to try most of the food concepts you can only find here.
