spicy cheese ball dumpling, this was an amazing dish and also had one more item tha is their poutine and with that few cocktails andbeerand vodka was also ordered by me. it was fun to have these items from this place. i liked this place very much.

interesting name for an irish pub as somerset maugham was english and wrote a novel by the same name.

for those inclined toward literature the novel is based largely on the life of paul gauguin the painter. the message is if you look on the ground in search of a sixpence, you don't look up, and so miss the moon.

the pub is on the first floor of the hablis hotel. walking up the stairs one is transported to the late 1800s/early 1900s with posters on all sides.

the interiors are reasonably bright with a dj playing mostly pre 2000 hits. the selection was nice but i expected to hear some irish singers too - bono or enya or sinead o’connor.

the setting is cheerful with the waiters polite and attentive. the tables are set well apart.

the kingfisher and british empire - yes there is a british empire 😁 were served chilled. the starters came and went - onion rings, mezze platter, spicy cottage cheese and some chicken, lamb and prawn.

i can vouch for the vegetarian food with falafel and spicy cottage cheese standing out. i’ve never enjoyed short eats so much as i have here. the thin crust margarita pizza was delicious too.

the conversation was easy,beercold, service efficient, service crew friendly, food fantastic and ambience very good.

parking is not a problem as the restaurant is in the hablis hotel and valet parking is available.

i owe thanks to three gentlemen - giftson, navin and arun for a truly memorable friday with the lads.

they have plenty of options for cocktails and they havebeercocktails, coffee based cocktails and etc and i have tried their these cocktails many a times and they are just so excellent. also had so many dishes from here both in starters and main course in vegetarian.

the food was great. service was great, the server was extremely polite. thebeerselection was a little less. but everything else was very very good. highly recommend.

so i was at hablis to meet a friend who was quarantined here. instead of just sitting in the lobby and yapping we decided to crash into tmas being a saturday night. we entered around 6.30 pm when it was quiet empty and the crowd started to come in as time went by. the whole ambience speaks irish, most of the seating were high stools and the whole place looked pretty for a bar and not to forget the dim lighting that changed to red later. the music was super boring and wasn’t groovy at all.

got pretty bored of domesticbeer, so decided to go for imported one -hopper. i was told that it comes in two variants. withier and blonde and we decided to go with the former one and order for a pitcher. with a little less on alcohol content, thebeertasted delicious with a hint of wheat, barley and coriander seeds that’s used for a mild spice.

for sides we were given salted cuts and spicy peanuts that were complimentary. we order a portion of chilly chicken. taste wise it was authentic chinese but the portions was small for ₹399

for mains we order a portion of chicken tilka pizza which was priced at ₹699 . huge chunks of chicken tikka was good on a thin crispy crust.

my friend wanted more of alcohol so he ordered 6th sense with is a rum based cocktail. the drink quantity was tad bit less and it was mostly just foamy.

service was dead and super slow, needs to improve.

went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. pathetic service, just three confused waiters on service. had to go find waiters to place orders and constantly remind to bring the orders. ordered fish and chips, fish was stale and just dipped into crumbs and fried. supposed to be an irish pub but didn’t a single choice or irishbeernor a decent fish n chips. prices are over the roof for the service, food quality and minuscule portions. ordered 4 starters, 2 main course, 4 beers and 2 mocktails. was slapped with a bill of 10k!!!!!! i wish i had spent that kind of money at a 5star restaurant. all of us ended up getting sick the next day. disastrous experience at hablis.

the food was great. but the way they treat you is just shitty. they don’t even treat you like a customer. i was over charged for about 2000+ rs thinking i was drunk. but we found out the same and asked them to reduce it in the bill. they also have really weird rules on buying the drinks. it’s like you buy abeerbucket for example, they would not allow you to share thebeerbucket.

their entire lounge was amazing.and even bar area was also good indeed
the staff was helpful also.

we had
1+1beerand snacks and cranberry mojito with penne pasta salad.

the presentation was good also.

but price was not good at all the way they boast.

a review for this place is long overdue! it became my must visit due to its irish bar vibes. and true to it, the ambience and decor were perfect.
staff were prompt in their service. and the place being a pretty large space with partitions they did manage to tend to their customers efficiently. i loved the look and feel of the place and the music was tasteful & went along well with the mood. they have extensive liquor options, cocktails too! i had my first irish stoutbeerhere. sadly when i went they didn't have guinness. the drinks were perfectly made. but the food menu was the usual items we get in every other bar/pub in the city. i felt they could've had a few english/irish food in their menu. but the taste of the food served were not compromised. right from the starters to the dessert everything was yumm. the smoking area was like a breathe of fresh air when compared to the pubs in the city. being used to cramped spaces called smoking zones, this was a sight to soar eyes. at one point of time we just switched our tables to the smoking area and had a wonderful time.

an excellent evening with goodbeerand nice snacks.was a bit disappointed since no lamb or mutton or beef snacks were available and they only had basa fish.very strange.no music .the service was excellent.my bartender jai was really polite and patient.overall a nice evening.

draughtbeerquality is not good at all. i tried salads, it was delicious. overall a lot of improvements required in quality of beverages .. it's expensive as compared to the quality offered.

garlic cheese toast and with that some wine andbeeris the best thing to have. i always order sides while i have alcohol and so from this place in their sides i found this dish heavy as it is made up of cheese upon the bread which is toasted up.

stopped by this place to grab abeerwith a few friends and had actually the best experience i've had in chennai at a bar. as it is, we don't have many great bars to hangout in the city which has actually started to change in the recent past with a slew of new places opening up across the city. nevertheless, moon and sixpence has been one place which was always right at the top of the scene here and my recent visit was fruitful. the place is well lit and is done up in the style of an irish pub and is actually quite nice.
our orders were few beers and to go with them, the butter garlic prawns. i was actually quite surprised to find few beers like hopper here and the place,in spite of being a saturday night, wasn't crowded much. service was pleasant and attentive, no complaints there.

blood orange, this is thebeercocktail which i had over here. it wae sour and good in taste. it was very chilled to have and there wasbeeras alcohol inside it. with that i had some of the food item over here in non vegetarian.
