wonderful service, delightful and inspiring meals definitely cuisine that is five star. i love the portraits of the local suppliers and the menu that changes daily. tables and chairs could do with an upgrade but that's all :) definitely i am comingbackand i never say that for any other restaurant!

went to the larder on a saturday morning for brunch. the staff are very attentive and friendly; filling up water glasses and asking if we needed more coffee. the menu is fairly light on veggie options but they were more than willing to swap the bacon for avocado, which was great! the food tasted incredibly fresh and prepared to a very high standard. they know what they're doing! i'd like to see some smoothies on the menu and a few more veggie friendly options but i'll definitely bebackagain soon!

stopped here waiting for ridebackinto town after weta tour. ordered the brocolli side and was blown away. the most beautiful brocolli we have ever had. friendly staff, pumping on a saturday, clean and fast. highly recommend. thank you for having us!

we went here with a large group of friends , and as with previous experiences the food was absolutely fabulous. unfortunately we were let down by having to wait 40 minutes for the table we had booked, and by the fact that they had sold out of the wellington on a plate burgers that we had specifically booked for - with the person taking our booking even going so far as to check enough portions were available the night before. clearly this was an admin error and doesn't reflect on the quality of the food at all - we'd gobackagain if i was dropping in, but wouldn't count on them to deliver to a pre requested item or service.

came here for a lunch break on a friday afternoon. the cabinet had limited gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options but possible just due to the time of day.

adam ordered eggs benedict with salmon and we both shared a side of fries. i also had an iced coffee, which was fully soy with honey that was delish. the food came out quickly and was really good according to adam - the chips were very good! hand cut and all.

big downer - they don't specify allergens, vegan or vegetarian options on the menu which always makes me feel like the annoying customer when i have to ask about substitutions.

boy does miramar have a hidden gem or what? brunch on a sunday morning with good coffee (4/5) and a fresh appealing menu (not run-of-the-mill). cousin had the watermelon salad which was refreshingly lovely but be warned that it is 95% watermelon (what else did i expect?); and i had the fruit crepes which were light and healthy like waitress said. there was a soft cookie crumble in the crepes which i wasn't overly fond of but perhaps i had overdosed on their salted caramel slice. all in all, i want to comebackfor more as i hear they do game for dinner.
oh and the waitress was helpful and friendly: bonus.

stunning! we went to larder for a xmas work celebration and were so impressed all round. most importantly, the food is fabulous. i had the twice-baked cheese soufflé, duck two ways main, and an richly decadent churros/creme brûlée dessert. each dish surpassed my expectations. i will gobackto larder in heartbeat!

had the wapiti burger (wellington on a plate burger competition) which was absolutely delicious served with the perfect thick cut chips!!

how very lucky we are to have such a great restaurant at ourbackdoor step. sarah, jacob and the team at the larder do an amazing job and it is very much appreciated.

service was slow to the point of annoying. staff kept filling up our water glasses but would then take ages to comebackwith their pads to take orders or return with drinks. we ended up piling up all the plates for the waitress to collect - she had managed to walk past them 4 or 5 times. food was decidedly average for the price, small portions and pretty bland.

judging by the rating and the other reviews, i'm prepared to accept it must have been a bad night, but we wouldn't hurry back.

recently had wellington on a plate fixed menu with matched wines on first visit to this restaurant.
additional first taster course of cauliflower soap was nice but cold, needed heating.
next course of chicory needed more dressing being rather bland.
main course of beef cheek was very succulent; parsnip puree was very smooth and tasty; grilled kale was miniscule portion.
cheese course of aged gouda and toasted fruit bread was dry and disappointed, needed an accompaniment other than the jelly which added little taste.
pear tart tartin disappointed as one who prefers a 'cake' like base rather than a batter; suggest pear could have benefitted from being sliced rather than whole, needed jus; accompanying gelato was miniscule portion.
not convinced by some of wine matches particularly the chardonay, sauv. blanc and pinot gris.
ambience overall ok, chairs not very comfortable; background noise high when restaurant full due hard surfaces; service generally attentive. could have asked for feedback upon paying bill if genuinely interested in patrons experience. cost around $195 overall $65 each fixed menu; $5 per half glass matched wines plus coffee/tea.
nice to have proper large napkins but why not go to tablecloths as well.
overall, pleasant enough but would not necessarily rushbackunless good reason to.

if you are out in the eastern burbs this is a fantastic place for brunch. with a group of eight we managed to get through most items on the menu, and all were excellent, especially the standards.

relaxed and friendly staff, good value, easy parking, i'll bebackfor diner soon.

we came to the larder for a nice lunch on a very miserable day. we got the perfect seat right by the fire place, very delightful. we shared a very nice savory muffin between us, just to get our appetites started. our meals were the croque madame and the goats cheese souffle. i was a little disappointed in the souffle, but i think that was a bad menu choice on my part. cannot fault much at this place and will surely bebackto enjoy dinner here asap. really want to try the duck and something off your dessert menu!

we love the larder! my husband and i moved to miramar just before the larder opened and have been going ever since. jacob and sarah are friendly and inviting and the food is delicious! i take friends and family whenever i get the chance and they love it too. we don't bother to go across town for brunch or a special night out - we have a fantastic place on ourbackdoor that we intend to make the most of!

i'd really love to say this place is fantastic, as i'm all for local great cafes, but the service was so appalling and slow that i'd be lying! in fact despite having a reservation our table was given away to someone else while we had a drink outside in the sun, as we had been invited to, so we had to wait over an hour to get our table. the amuse bouche, while very tasty, was lukewarm, and we didn't receive our mains till 10pm, even though our booking was for 7.30pm. the vegetarian main was not good at all, although all the meaty mains were very good. there was no apology at all for the wait, and the tables were so close together that the wait staff repeatedly banged into me from behind, again with no apology. would definitely stick to the fantastic cafe just along the road. won't be goingback:(
