the ice plant

great, non-tourist spot!!!. we found this through urbanspoon. what a find. great food. the fish of the day was grouper and it was amazing. the scene is fantastic for a date, a group of friends and a distinct difference from the tourist joints around town. i saw their gourmet burgers on a lot of tables around me and that looked great too. do not miss thisplaceif you want a great farm-to-table meal in a fantastic historic building.

tonight my wife and i enjoyed an anniversary dinner here. we’ve heard a lot of good things about this place, we were not disappointed in any way. the service was excellent, as was the meal. we started with blue crab beignets, they were amazing. very light and full of crab.
my wife had gnocchi with lamb and goat cheese ricotta. she was very happy with it.
i had the braised short rib with some puréed potatoes and a salad. it was fork tender and had a great beef flavor.
we split an apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert. i don’t eat ice cream but the cobbler was delicious, just like everything else.
theplaceis pricey but i feel like i got what i paid for.
on a side note, theplacereally was an ice plant and i used to buy ice here in the ‘70’s.

today, 9/18/16 is the first time ice plant started serving brunch and i can say they delivered! on point, unique, always having you wanting to come back again and again, as we have come to find that everything served at ice plant is. we decided on the pastrami and eggs skillet and the french toast...my best friend and i brunch a bunch(almost every sunday) and this is hands down the best of them all!!!
from the quality service, industrial quaint atmosphere, craft cocktails, and unique artful menu - there's nothing that compares!!! ice plant is setting the bar higher than anyplacein st augustine and surrounding cities - a true gem!!
we are already planning our next visit for mid week. if you are looking for somewhere that locals love - look no further. if you are visiting st augustine and want aplacethat you will come back to visit just to go here- you've found it! look no further. cannot say enough great things to the staff and owners of ice plant other than thank you for creating aplaceof quality, value and rarity. you have me always looking forward to coming back again and planning my next visit when we haven't even walked out of your door.

wow is all that needs to be said...this was an amazingplaceto eat/experience. the food was fresh and so tasty. great prices and protons! staff was super friendly and knowledgable and the ambience was lovely. would highly recommend coming here.

what a true gem in downtown st augustine! my wife and i finally got to try it and we were suitably impressed. theplaceis really cool, not because of the ice, in an old historic building. we sat at the bar, and got to watch the wizard mixologists do their thing. awesome drinks! the food was exceptional as well. can't wait to go back.

edgy, very cool with an excellent vibe...fresh look and a greatplaceto have a cocktail. the building is hip and pleasing in a industrial sort of way. the drinks, maybe a bit pricey but wonderful all the same...extensive selection to satisfy a desire or thirst. great for a special night. my next trip...i will try the food which looked really tasty. give it a try!

hey lovelies! i recently spent the day in florida's oldest city, st. augustine with a few of my foodie friends!  we enjoyed a day of macarons, wine and live music, and the awesomeness that is   the ice plant ! there's been a lot of buzz about thisplaceand after visiting, i can definitely understand why!  for starters, it's history dates back to the early 20th century when it was merely an ice manufacturing plant.  as soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a bit of nostalgia, as they have kept some of the original fixtures to add character to the once old ice factory turned vintage restaurant and bar. one of the things i was most anxious to try was their craft cocktails! i was very indecisive, but our waitress, maggie, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when it came to assisting me in choosing the right cocktail. i went with the sin city and i don't think i could've asked for a better drink.  my best description would be that it was equivalent to a spicy margarita and i love a good margarita! it had corazon tequila, ancho reyes, and madarine napoleon with vanilla pepper, lemon, and habenero sugar around the rim for a nice kick!  whoa!  i savored every drop! a few of my buddies got the same thing i did,  but my friend nate went for a cocktail that wasn't on the menu called the amelia.  it was similar in taste, to the amelia i had here , at bazille inside of nordtrom.  what i loved most about this drink was the ice sphere that he got with it! after all, we were at an old ice factory and the ice plant believes "ice is the cornerstone of the american bar and an integral component of a well made drink."  so it was only right that one of us got a personally carved piece of ice.  it was a perfect sphere!  the food was delicious and very fresh!  i love that their restaurant is farm to table and that their seafood is local and their beef is grass-fed! three of the five of us, including me, got the shrimp and grits.   it was very tasty.  the grits were very creamy, t

doesn't need my review. the ice plant doesn't need me to give it a good review. after all, there was a two-hour wait for a table of two this evening. that being said, my friend and i sat at the bar and had delicious drinks, decent service, and good food. i will be back. no otherplacelike it in st aug. cheers!

fantastic!!!! think of myself as a bit of a food snob and this was a fantastic experience. atmosphere was great, service exemplary, drinks fresh and unique and tje food was exquisite. has to be my new favoriteplaceto eat.

amazing experience from top to bottom. the staff is friendly, quick and very knowledgable. the cocktail list has a great mix of creative concoctions that combine hard to find liquor with in-house mixers. the entree menu is small, but it makes up for it with big taste. the atmosphere is very relaxed and unique as well. not aplaceto miss if you're in town.

great newplacein st. augustine!!. great newplacein town. if you're looking for something that's not the normal "florida" cuisine", this is your place. food and drinks are top notch, very unique and different from standard fare. wait staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. the care and thought that went into thisplaceis obvious from everything to the period decor to the hand crafted drinks and superb food. i can't wait to go back.
