the ice plant

fabulous! there was a wait, so we had cocktails: no reservations (whiskey based, with jalapeno) and a florida mule. excellent drinks, even if it was a bit crowded. we got a table, and the service was attentive but not pushy. all of thefoodwas excellent: their take on cobb salad, watermelon and tomato salad, and pickled shrimp toast were all inventive and mouthwatering. the standout, though, was the florida bouillabaisse, a medley of seafood in a broth so rich and flavorful i was practically licking the bowl at the end. finished up with a yummy cobbler. a superb meal!

we only had drinks and bar appetizers, but if thefoodis as good as the apps were, we will eat here often. we had the pretzel bread and the smoked fish dip. omg! the pretzel bread and the house mustard served with it were to die for. so good. the drink menu is also fun and the drinks were yummy.

the ambiance was sorta neck beard hipster, but i liked it. felt like a warehouse, in a good way. the waitstaff is dressed in 40s garb but were all super friendly. our server was excellent and split the bill correctly 4 ways.

can't wait to get back here for dinner.

update: had the carpaccio with fried oysters, so very good.

wow is all that needs to be said...this was an amazing place to eat/experience. thefoodwas fresh and so tasty. great prices and protons! staff was super friendly and knowledgable and the ambience was lovely. would highly recommend coming here.

what a true gem in downtown st augustine! my wife and i finally got to try it and we were suitably impressed. the place is really cool, not because of the ice, in an old historic building. we sat at the bar, and got to watch the wizard mixologists do their thing. awesome drinks! thefoodwas exceptional as well. can't wait to go back.

edgy, very cool with an excellent vibe...fresh look and a great place to have a cocktail. the building is hip and pleasing in a industrial sort of way. the drinks, maybe a bit pricey but wonderful all the same...extensive selection to satisfy a desire or thirst. great for a special night. my next trip...i will try thefoodwhich looked really tasty. give it a try!

hey lovelies! i recently spent the day in florida's oldest city, st. augustine with a few of my foodie friends!  we enjoyed a day of macarons, wine and live music, and the awesomeness that is   the ice plant ! there's been a lot of buzz about this place and after visiting, i can definitely understand why!  for starters, it's history dates back to the early 20th century when it was merely an ice manufacturing plant.  as soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a bit of nostalgia, as they have kept some of the original fixtures to add character to the once old ice factory turned vintage restaurant and bar. one of the things i was most anxious to try was their craft cocktails! i was very indecisive, but our waitress, maggie, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when it came to assisting me in choosing the right cocktail. i went with the sin city and i don't think i could've asked for a better drink.  my best description would be that it was equivalent to a spicy margarita and i love a good margarita! it had corazon tequila, ancho reyes, and madarine napoleon with vanilla pepper, lemon, and habenero sugar around the rim for a nice kick!  whoa!  i savored every drop! a few of my buddies got the same thing i did,  but my friend nate went for a cocktail that wasn't on the menu called the amelia.  it was similar in taste, to the amelia i had here , at bazille inside of nordtrom.  what i loved most about this drink was the ice sphere that he got with it! after all, we were at an old ice factory and the ice plant believes "ice is the cornerstone of the american bar and an integral component of a well made drink."  so it was only right that one of us got a personally carved piece of ice.  it was a perfect sphere!  thefoodwas delicious and very fresh!  i love that their restaurant is farm to table and that their seafood is local and their beef is grass-fed! three of the five of us, including me, got the shrimp and grits.   it was very tasty.  the grits were very creamy, t

fantastic!!!! think of myself as a bit of afoodsnob and this was a fantastic experience. atmosphere was great, service exemplary, drinks fresh and unique and tjefoodwas exquisite. has to be my new favorite place to eat.

love it!. my new favorite restaurant in town! the staff was great, really loved the host, nicky! he gave was history on the building as he showed us to our table and was well dressed to fit the decor of the place. my husband and i tried several drinks and loved each one. bartenders/chefs take the time to create each drink and dish fresh and it really makes a difference. i love the ice specially designed for each drink to keep it from being watered down as the ice melts. thefoodwas delicious too, cooked just right and a very creative menu. we cant wait to go back to try everything on the menu!

great new place in st. augustine!!. great new place in town. if you're looking for something that's not the normal "florida" cuisine", this is your place.foodand drinks are top notch, very unique and different from standard fare. wait staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. the care and thought that went into this place is obvious from everything to the period decor to the hand crafted drinks and superb food. i can't wait to go back.

great new resturant. the ice plant is a new restaurant in st. augustine. they have greatfoodand awesome drinks. they even serve home-made condiments. so much fun!!!

best ever!. great appetizers and cocktails. atmosphere really neat. staff friendly.foodservice was a little off, not everyone at the table served at the same time, some were almost done before the last person'sfoodarrived. i expect this will be corrected as the staff becomes more familiar with the routine. parking lot dark and crowded. but this place is so unique we plan on returning and definitely would recommend to others.

very long wait but well worth it. the menu was a bit limited but thefoodwas superb. a bar atmosphere more than restaurant, but again, worth it. kudos to the chef for fantastic presentation and high quality food.
