my partner and i decided to get some breakfast at the honey pot last weekend and were very disappointed at our experience.
we arrived and waited to be acknowledged for a while - we decided to grab a table (we had to clear as most of the tables has dirty dishes on them). we then waited for a waitress to come and take an order, we ordered the pancakes with chocolate chips and both chose thebaconas extra. i also ordered a coffee with our meals. food came out promptly but nobaconand the way it was listed on the menu made it seem like pineapple was an optional extra, i didn't think it would come including half a pineapple! pancakes were good and the dish was very nice without the overdose of pineapple. i couldn't get the waitresses attention and all staff seemed to by busy rushing around late orders and comping food. no sign of my coffee or anyone making my coffee, and the surrounding tables were trying to get attention from the waitress with complaints about wait time which made the whole environment uncomfortable. one table even got up and left without receiving any coffee. both my partner and i finished our meals before my coffee arrived - nearly 45 minute wait for a mocha! not on! the waitress's response to my concern was 'okay i''ll go check". we were just about to leave when my coffee arrived. we went to pay and i said i would like to check out bill because our order was wrong and we were not going to pay for thebaconextras, the young man's response was "okay cool". as someone who has worked in the hospo industry for nearly 4 years - please train your staff how to deal with customer complaints and if you want to call yourself a cafe - make sure you have someone behind the coffee machine full time! such a shame as the honey pot used to be great! won't be returning!
