had brunch here, i got the vegan burger. the waiter was amazing. he seemed really tired but went out of his way to provide a greatservicewith his friendliness.

i’ve frequented this place the last few times that i’ve visited washington d.c. and i enjoy it every time. the breakfast menu definitely shakes things up especially with the burrito that practically made for hangovers even named after it. the apple pancakes are a great last morning in dc breakfast. there’s nothing the compares to crispy cornmeal crusted catfish on a bun at 1am. the late night sushi is pretty good too. theserviceis on point no matter the time of day. it’s another cool upscale restaurant just like the other restaurants (clyde’s & old ebbitt grill) in clyde’s restaurants group.

food was good,servicea little slow (time it took for the food to be served) and the menu was well priced for the area. we had a good variety of food types and everyone really enjoyed their meals. would go back.

good atmosphere, the food was ok but theservicewas horrible. very inattentive wait staff. salads arrived at the same time as entrees. waiter didn't remove plates after we were done eating and plates stacked up. waiter forgot to bring our dessert.

good food, but truly rancid service. pros: food was good, and the price was reasonable. decor is pleasant.
cons: breathtakingly badservicefrom check-in staff, management, and waiter. our party of six was seated 40 minutes after our reservation time, and after 3-4 rude blowoffs when we asked about progress. at last we were led from the check-in station toward...not our table, but a hallway where we were left alone for another 15 minutes, standing with nothing to do. the waiter was hopeless, disappearing for long periods and then returning to ask us to pass him table items he could easily have reached. even paying and getting parking validated was nearly impossible. the staff, including management, seems stuck between hopeless and helpless. it seems like no one is in charge or even trying to make things work for customers. we were polite at all times but never received even a simple "sorry." and for heaven's sake, could mgmt please buy a box of pens so people can sign their charge slips?

best salmon dish i have ever had!. i didn't expect to have the best salmon entree dish i have ever had at a business dinner. twenty of us walked a few blocks to the hamilton on a recent saturday night, after a long day of meetings. we weren’t very surprised by the décor; this is business-dinner sort of place, with paneled walls and dramatic art. but, we were surprised by the friendly, responsiveserviceand great food. we ordered bottles of white and red wines – i don’t remember what they brought us, but it was very good!
and, cheese plate (can’t quite figure which one it was) and meat appetizer (sopressata) were absolutely delicious. i ordered the crab soup (pretty good) and the pan seared salmon with french lentils, sautéed spinach, and crispy prosciutto. the salmon was perfectly marinated and cooked – by far the best salmon dish i have tried. too bad i had to leave dc the next day; i would have definitely gone back for the salmon again. overall, this is a great place for dinner – theserviceis wonderful and the food is very, very good.

nothing to run and tell about..... good... the food was really good
bad... drinks were weak andservicewas terrible. we didn't see our server for over 30 minutes. she took forever to come back to our table to check on us. next time i'll just order my food to go.

skip it!. one of the worst qualities in a restaurant is when they think they are better than they are, in actuality. the food was not bad, but the calibre of the attitude would make you think that the food should be spectacular -- which it is not. it's just ok. the menu was unremarkable. it's kind of like a hamburger joint with a broader menu and fancy paneling.

theservicewas not good and the host was rude, talking trash about us, when we requested a particular table. this despite the fact that the place is vast, with little reason we could not have the table of our choice.

overall, it was an unpleasant experience, which was conducive of feeling a knot in my stomach throughout the meal. as i read the reviews, i see others have had very similar experiences. i had been wanting to try this place for some time and i will not be returning.

this place needs to understand that the customer is always right. but you get the distinct feeling that they'll never understand that. if you're really into a good restaurant experience, trust me, this place sucks. unless they come to understand true customer service, just skip it. really.

greatservice- 11/30/2012. we had dinner scheduled with a mom & dad that recently lost their son - who was a close friend of ours. the scheduled reservation was for a party of 8, which slowly and unexpectedly grew to 13 right after we were seated. we informed the staff (wayne - waiter & bond - manager) and they bent over backward to expand out table & accommodate our seating needs - despite the restaurant (the loft portion) being completely full & beyond busy on a friday night. the dinner was terrific (all aspects from food to incredible service) & i would sincerely ask anyone planning a night for a large group to seriously consider the hamilton.

i made an account on here specially to write a review on this place. theservicewas great, the atmosphere awesome but the food was far below average. i ordered the lobster roll, which comes cold(didn't have that on the menu) on a potato roll, so did another member of my dinner group. i am sure everyone knows how fast potato bread molds due to its high moisture content. well, my lobster roll came out moldy. it took about 5 minutes to find our waiter to tell him. he rolled his eyes, said sorry and took our plates back to the kitchen. i forgot to mention that i graduated with a biochemistry degree and touched the defective area on the potato roll, and knew without a doubt it was mold. so, the manager came out and gave us a story about how the rolls are close to an area in the kitchen where salsa verde is made and it was only a little sauce on the roll, would we like another. we said no that we want something else, and that it was in fact mold. she explained again about the salsa again and we insisted on something else. it was brought out without immediacy and the other members of our group were more than done with their meals, so it made the dining experience awkward.

i hope no one gets the lobster roll and no one goes back there. i know i won't.

pretty much as expected. having had many meals at various clyde's eateries over the years, my expectations for brunch were modest, and they were met -- not exceeded. the food was decent, the coffee was good, and theservicevaried from poor to very good. i work nearby so i will give the hamilton a try for lunch as well.

i went there after lunch, january 27, 2010,but before the dinner crowed, so being seated was not an issue. theservicewas great, the food was served in a nice amount of time. next time i will see about the evenings entertainment.

4th and last time. so many issues. the restaurant doesn't appear to specialize in anything and even with the limited number of menu items items, nothing is above average. don't even waste your time with the sushi. they have no idea what they're doing.serviceis just horrible. horrible. slow, inattentive, and untrained. leadership seems weak as well. often large groups of servers are seen standing in the dining room just chatting. hard to believe this place can have so many issues given it's lineage.
