give it a slip. a friend of ours booked a table for 6 here. it was a cold windy evening. the restaurant had a promise for good food...touted as the indian fusion. we were seated close to the patio door. the tables were small with hard wooden chairs. our ordeal started with the bartender was showing some clientele the outdoor patio space. he opened the door and left it open, cold breeze for every body...we all screamed please close the door after you and he retorted saying something super smart and did not close the door, we had to tell him again and we kept getting dirty looks from him thereafter.
the same thing repeats once again ...how difficult is it to close the door after you. if the comfort of your clients doesnt matter to you, you might as close and go home.
we were billed a total of $334/- with 20% tips. for a round of cliched drinks like elaichi whisky, tamarind margarita, mango chilli lassi with hot pepper seeds and food laden with sugar that was expensive. there was hardly any mango in the mango lassi, plenty of pepper seeds and sugar though. we had ordered chips & bangra, talli walli pani puri, lamb sliders and amchi mumbai pav as starters, the sliders and pav were served cold and were just about edible, chips and bangra is just some pieces of pappad with two chutneys.
our entrees were bacon butter chicken, palak kofta curry, amritsari fish & chips, haryalichickentikka and aloo kale curry. the food was a complete disappointment butterchickenwas drowning in sugar, the chips in amritsari fish & chips were insipid, the haryalichickentikka too dry...nothing to write home about palak kofta curry and aloo kale curry. adding a slice of bacon to sweet & syrupy butterchickenis not fusion. get your act together. when i told the waiter the butterchickenwas too sweet, he retorted back saying that is the way it is cooked in punjab. sorry dude, i have been to both sides of punjab india and pakistan and nowhere is it so stupidly sweet.
we were so done with our dinner... but my wife likes her desserts so we ordered one plate malpuas and a friend ordered cardamom kulfi. the cardamom kulfi was icy and full of ice crystals, the malpuas were the only thing which were good in this restaurant. the lady who served us (tracy) was nice though. avoid at all costs.

2. chickenkathi roll -chickenwas good and the wrap was freshly made.
3. kale potato curry - nice dish for vegetetian lovers which is served with puri.

i'm not one to typically go and write a review but this place is the best indian restaurant i have ever been to!

as the waiter described it, it truly is a pacific northwest/seattle meets indian food vibe, right from the chalk board to the mason jars for water.

the flavors are incredible, none of the oily creamy sauce which does injustice to indian food since they all taste mostly the same.

we tried the chips and bhangra, chickentikka, bacon bleu cheese naan, and the aloo kale curry and they were all very different, with unique spice profiles, textures, tastes, and nothing like what i have tasted in other indian restaurants elsewhere.

and do try their spiced hot wine! the menu is a bit of a shocker, as well as the food, but go with an open mind and you will be rewarded!

five stars for ambience and service. a fun restaurant with a happy vibe. from the beginning we were greeted warmly, and given a tour of the menu, since at first glance it's not obvious. that's only because we are so used to indian restaurants being of a stereotype - the curries, with sides of rice and breads. everything is different here, and once you begin to see it, it's incredible.

five stars to creativity, we only tried 'different' stuff. the lambda seattle was the best tasting lamb kabob i have ever had, complete with cream cheese and onions! my girlfriend tried the bacon butterchickenand it was very flavorful. my drink was hot spiced wine! wow! a fusion of fragrant spices in wine, and served piping hot! she had a yogurt smoothie lassi drink with spiced chocolate, and again it had a little heat and spice to it as well.

five plus stars to healthy and wholesomeness. the taste and quality of food is very wholesome and for the very first time after eating indian food, we did not feel stuffed, bloated, or thirsty afterwards. or the next day!

five star for price/value. my friend - who owns an infiniti and just got the latest lcd tv - thinks a $10 buffet is better value. but for a freshly made lamb kabob seasoned with amazing spices, complete with hand cut steak fries was only $15! i'm trying to compare with gourmet burger joints and this is incredible! i have to try the combo next time - $15 for a complete meal including a fresh chai made to order. mcdonald's combo meals are $10. a starbucks chai made of syrup and canned chai is $5. go figure!

cons? location and wait times. they were extremely busy on the friday night we went. i'm used to long wait times on weekends - any good place is like that, but wish there was a bar or something close enough to grab a drink while waiting. also i live in seattle so this is a bit of a hike.. but this is our new favorite food joint. don't miss!
