i visit trivandrum atleast once in 6 months as it my home town and that is where my heart is. have been hearing good reviews about "the gourmet house" since my last visit and this time i made sure i visit them. i was planning to meet some my school mates and so decided we catch up there.
the ambiance is really fresh and the colours of the furniture is very soothing. it is compact setup to seat around 40pax. we had made reservation and boy i was glad i did that, as after half an hour of our arrival, the place was packed. they have space for parking outside the cafe and the place is easy to locate.
the staff was very courteous and also suggested dishes that is their must try.
i should say that i was pleasantly surprised by the variety that they had in the menu and was quite tempting to try most of them.
we ordered:
hot chocolate : perfectly sweetened and topped with wipped cream
ice tea: very refreshing
bulgogi beef: now this is a dish which has a dual personality. you eat the beef by itself, it taste amazing and when you roll the beef with lettuce and eat it, it is heavenly. absolutely loved it.
frenchedchickenwinglets: crisp from the outside and juicy inside. just the way i like it.
nasi goreng: hard to find such dishes in tvm, even if you do, need to spend a bomb. was not at all disappointed.
beef steak with bearnaise sause: one of the best steak i have had in the recent times. i am settled in bangalore, and it wouldn't be wrong if i say, that it is difficult to find such good steak in bangalore and the mash served with it was ahhhmazinggg.
lifu rice: loved it.
hakka noodles: good flavour
paan and rose ice cream: must must must try. you will fall in love with it.
sizzling brownie: perfect ending to a perfect meal.
