bestbreakfastever. i have been a chef for 15 years now. my sister and i went in there and i only have two things to say: they have a brass monkey on the menu and the duck confit (double order of course) was amazingly priced and amazingly good. i wish them the best of luck and i will eat there every time i am in c-town period!!!!!

amazingbreakfastcafe! they were super friendly, quick service, and incredible service- all in this very difficult time! made my heart so happy that they were able to make a dairy-free version of the cinnamon roll pancake for my son with a severe allergy. first time ever he’s been able to eat a pancake at a restaurant. can’t recommend enough!!

waited excessively long to be seated. multiple wait staff ignored us and we eventually left and went to thebreakfastnook. much better food and service. won't be going back to this poorly run overpriced joint.

do not miss this joint!. while in coeur d alene on business we hadbreakfasthere twice. it was all great. my husband had the buckwheat pancakes with blueberries. twice. amazing. i had the biscuits and gravy, and tried the in house cured corned beef. wow! the next day i had the green eggs and ham. outstanding. local ham steak, pesto eggs, rosemary toast with homemade lemon curd and berry preserves. oh boy! i loved it all. clean with quich efficient, friendly service.

i am a corned beef hash fanatic and have eaten it at restaurants and cafes all over the united states. without question, that served at the garnet cafe is the best i have ever eaten. my wife enjoyed the smoked salmon omelette, which was outstanding as well. in addition, their homemade toast accompanied with jam and lemon curd were a nice touch. ourbreakfastvisit was truly an outstanding dining experience! we are anxious to try other choices on their menu.

fantastic!. i highly recommend hitting the garnet up on a weekday morning because the weekends mean a long wait (although it is worth it, if the weekend is your only option). this place just has a fantastic, quirky, fun vibe, with enthusiastic service and delicious food! everything on the menu is fresh, unique and innovative. my favorites so far are the fried pork loin and the duck confit, but i still have a ways to go to make my way through the menu and i want to come for lunch sometime too! bestbreakfastin coeur d' alene!

amazing biscuits and gravy!. have been here forbreakfasta few times now and it never disappoints. cute smaller restaurant with a couple tables for outside seating. can be a bit of a wait on weekends if you eat after 9am. i mostly order their biscuits and gravy with a side of yogurt w/granola and fruit. they never skimp on extras / portions and the food is beyond good. highly recommended!

to be honest i wish less people knew about or liked the garnet. the more people that like the place, the longer the wait!!! i wish we could keep this little treasure a secret. my husband and i have lived in some major "foodie" cities so we were pretty worried when we moved to cda. it took us awhile but we found some great spots and the garnet is one of our favorites. the food is always good! i was surprised to read the review from "mountain man"' ,obviously a goodbreakfastfor him is from ihop. if you don't mind a little wait and you want something different forbreakfastyou need to try it. my husband loves the duck sausage and the spaghetti and eggs, my kids always get the french toast stuffed with nutella and bananas and my favorite is the white beans and eggs. the rosemary toast is awesome and the lemon curd should be bottled and sold. the servers are wonderful as well. love the garnet!!!

bestbreakfastin cda. i took my sister-in-law here forbreakfasther last day in town and it was hands down the bestbreakfastwe've had in cda. delicious, fresh, well-seasoned food and attentive service. an amazingly good value for the price-- my husband & i will spend nearly the same at one of the coffeehouses downtown ( not naming names ) for food 1/2 as good. just too bad they are closed on sundays, as that's our normalbreakfastout morning. i know he'll love it as much as i did.

love this place!!! anytime i'm up before one i eat there!! there spegettibreakfastis to die for ! great service and good prices . i also love all the different menu choices like duck omelette or samon check it out sometime !!!

we will be up from california at the end of january and guess where we will eatbreakfastfor the first two or three days? maybe all ten.......

once again, the bestbreakfastin coeur d'alene!. went this morning to the garnet and had my new favorite breakfast, the duck confit. fabulous meal with the potatoes, 2 eggs and the wheat toast! love that they serve the toast with their homemade rasberry jam and lemon curd!

best damn breakfast. this place rocks with some fabulousbreakfastdishes. had the spaghetti and eggs with the homemade rosemary
bread and thought i had died and gone to heaven. i am not sure what is in the 'scetti but wow! excellent service in a cozy spot.
