the cowfish sushi burger bar

pretty disappointed.  the parking was fine due to the large parking deck next door, and the location is developing into a nice place.  interior looks nice and has cute cowfish oriented renditions of famous art pieces.  large fish tank in the center by the bar gives interesting ambiance.  staff was friendly.  the waiter, aaron, was polite and attentive.  the problem here was the food which was a big surprise considering how many of our friends rave about it.  i ordered the texas longhorn burger and my wife got the fusion bento box.

her box came with three sides a slider and half of a normal sushi roll.  the problem with the box is that you get a very generic slider with no frills and choice of three basic rolls.  while the food was good, it was nothing special and not a great way to showoff the food.  not really worth it considering there is more side dish than main portions.

my burger, ordered medium, came out nearly raw inside so had to send it back.  they brought my fries back out while they made me another burger and i have to say they were extremely tasty.  not sure what they seasoned them with but was a nice change of pace.  a long while later i got my replacement burger and while it was no longer raw it was cooked to between medium and medium well.  the bigger issue is that the outside was heavily charred and made it so bitter i was unable to eat but half of it.  i like a little char on the burger, but this was just ruined.  also, the bacon was a jalepeno bacon and it had a very off-putting taste.  overall it was just not agoodeat.

everyone talks it up so we might try again, but this was a rather poor experience.

sogoodit deserves a high five!!. my husband and i had passed by this spot on six forks about a 100 times on our way home from work and always got free smells in our car on six forks. we would always say "we have to hit that place up one day" and so we did. it was so worth it, and probably one of the best burgers i have ever eaten! not to mention the amount of food that comes with it is great!! we ordered the the ultimate "brento" bento box, which we definitely recommend to everyone we know!! the server was excellent and the service was great! it's all worth the wait!!

very noisy, long waits but worth it. the place was packed for dinner -- line-out-the-door packed. we were told a 45 minute wait for 4 people, but it only took 15 minutes, although some people who came in before us (different party sizes from us) were still waiting to be seated when our food came out. we tried to wait in the bar area but it was standing room only.

the noise level was very high - i would not recommend this place for a date or a place to take your older parents to when they visit. we heard them sing happy birthday to 5 different tables- and the song ends with a bang on a gong... so there's a lot going on, sound-wise. they should consider sound control panels!
service was fairly prompt, and several runners brought our food and refilled our drinks. our waitress wasn't seen very often, unfortunately, but she was friendly.

the decor is modern and pretty cool - the "tanked" show's fish tank is a nice touch.

the menu is extensive and the food was quitegood-while not being over-priced. for about $25 i walked out full (1 beer, house salad and the birkenstocky shiitake maki roll - pretty darned tasty and unique). we split the pickle chips and i can definitely say they were, at the very least, different from other restaurants - very thick cut chips and very heavily breaded. not asgoodas lightly battered thin dill chips - we only ate about half of them.

highly recommended if you can tolerate a bit of a wait and a loud crowd while you eat.

this place is not worth waiting an hour or more to get into! seriously? the food isgoodand it does have a different spin. service was polite and professional. definately pricey. if you can get in without the wait it's worth a try but there are better options available.

so good. had an excellent lunch here. coconut onion ring appetizer was enormous and very very good. my burger was a delicious lamb patty with capers, tzatziki, and a big square of fried feta. the bacon coleslaw on the side was heaven. and my wife had the black truffle burger, which was just a wonderfully tasty truffle overload. the deserts and shakes lookedgoodtoo, but we were just too full to even consider them. next time.

loved it! went with a large crowd with different tastes. everyone was happy.goodwas inventive and creative. overwhelming menu but that makes me want to go back and try more. grea service too.
