cheesecake factory - i had been dying to visit this place since my last trip to the us in chicago. and i finallymadeit here, and i am glad imadeit to this place after the last failed attempt.😗. so as you would have read my previous posts - i was on a solo sightseeing stint here in kansas. soon after my visit to the nelson-atkins museum - i took a ride to the j c nicholas memorial fountain. and there it was, right across the street - cheesecake factory.

the restaurant is in a multi-storeyed eye catchy building with bricked roofs having typical spanish make with white walls and distinct windows. loved the architecture of all the buildings at the plaza.

be aware... we have been to cheesecake factory-plaza several times. tonight was the first time we've had problems.

two of our four dishes were pasta tonight. within these two dishes we found blue plastic clippings amongst the mix.

the manager explained that the plastic shroud marker which the chef (or sous chef) uses to differentiate between chicken, pork or beef may have shed into our dishes. as vegetarians, we became more confused with how this could have occurred. he was very accommodating, but you should be aware as a matter of physical safety.

we feel that this establishment has really become an over-priced, fad-based slow food joint. the food is honestly, not that great.

the huge menu hasmadethem less concerned with the details.

this was supposed to be a date night for me and my husband of 14 years. it was about a 30 minute wait, not too bad. although, when we were seated we were sat in a tiny table for two in between a wrap around booth of 6 girls that were loud and on the other side a family of 4 with crazy children. it was quite awkward even when they brought our bread and drink there was no room on the table because the table was so small. i am not sure why they would even put a table of this size in a restaurant in between two larger tables with such a tight squeeze in between. it was hard to talk and very awkward. i did finally say something after the large group of girls left and asked if we could move since they couldn't even put food on our table because it was so small. they did accommodate us and move us over to the table where six people should be sitting, i didn't need that much room but at least it was more comfortable. then my husband ordered shrimp scampi which was mediocre and i ordered fried shrimp which was a mistake for $20 to get fried shrimp and fries and coleslaw was ridiculous. as i sat there i read reviews trying to find out what i should eat since it's been so long since i've been there. all the reviews were pretty awful and kept telling me that we should eat somewhere else that the cheesecake factory is over rated and just to go order cheesecake that's the only good thing they have. i would have to agree, i have been to many restaurants and this one i doubt i will ever return to unless i want some cheesecake to go. very over rated go somewhere else to eat its like cows being herded through and the only reason they havemadeit this long as the novelty and their location.

this was an absolutely horrible experience! they don't take reservations so they told us to come 30 minutes earlier than we wanted to eat. we showed up at 4:45 and did not get seated until 7:45! the staff was very unapologetic about what they told us and even after we seated they were out of food and it took 2 hours to get what we did order and again unapologetic. unless you have nothing else to do with your whole day it's not worth it for this place. because they were busy they didn't feel the need to care for the customer andmadethat known. won't go back after this experience.

...i had the bang-bang chicken and shrimp. i had never had it before and it was not at all what i expected. i was imagining bonefish grill’s bang bang shrimp, butmadewith both chicken and shrimp. it wasn’t like that at all. their bang bang chicken and shrimp dish is a mild curry dish served with rice. it was pretty good. although, i’ve had better curry dishes. brian really enjoyed his pasta, though. he said it was delicious. brian and i concluded our meal by sharing a chocolate tower. it’s a slice of seven layer chocolate cake that is big enough to feed four people. it’s actually identical

great cheesecake. stopped by here after a royals game while on vacation. we had both dined here before, and were really only in the mood for the cheesecake.
we ended up ordering 2 appetizers (calamari & some other stuffed buffalo thing) which were both very salty, very greasy and almost inedible. they left a whole lot to be desired.
the cheesecakes, however, were mouthwatering!! we got the white chocolate raspberry and tiramisu. the choco. rasp. one was outstanding. the raspberry flavor was bright, fruity, and a little tart like a fresh raspberry. it had a great crunch from the chocolate crust. it was superb and yummy. the tiramisu one was also very good but a lot heavier. the flavors were definitely cream, rich and delicious.
the waitress we had was wonderful, friendly and very accomodating. everyonemadeus feel really welcome and were lovely. get the cheesecake, skip everything else.

belly up to the trough!. this awful chain hasmadetheir name from the obscenely large portions of mediocre food they serve. why do people think that getting more bad food makes it better? steer clear.
